I came here a lot because they have a very good deals and I love it. Until this happen, which make me so disappointed... yesterday i was in a hurry and went there to buy a power bank for 19.99$, so when I get home I open it and the inside doesn't seem or look like its cover, plus there is no micro usb included and the power bank is not even work. I wouldn't mind if the power bank doesn't seem like its cover or no micro usb included because I just need to have a portable charger when I'm outside BUT what in there is not even work. So I call Marshalls at this location and tell them what happened and she said I can return it. So I went there today in morning and the cashier told me that I cannot return it. I don't know what to do or what to tell them, so I just leave my power bank there and tell them ok I don't need any refund or anything but next time please won't let this kind of situation happen again. I love Marshalls. I shop there often for many products and will continue to do so. Inventory is great, but this particular store, like previous reviews noted, has bad customer service. I've had a few unpleasant staff, but I don't normally write a bad review based on just one encounter. maybe it's not that big of a deal, but most other Marshalls stores are better than this one, and I think they better represent the brand. Quick story-- I came in to return a pair of headphones because the right earphone was very low. they didn't work correctly. When the associate asked why I was returning, I explained, and she looked at the receipt to see the date I purchased them (14 days ago, when the policy is a 30-day return; I was well within the timeline). She said, "You know, you have to come in early when something like this doesn't work. You have to come in right away to return it, not wait until later." I thought, What?? No one from any store has ever said that, especially when its a cheap item that doesn't work (I hadn't used the headphones, just tested them out), and especially when I'm adhering to the return policy. There are a million reasons why a customer doesn't return something right away, be it work schedule, not living close to the store, or, in my case, I wait until I have other errands to run in that area since it saves time and gas money. But whatever the reason, what does it matter? The product is defective, I had 30 days to return it, and did so before the 30 days. Why the lecture? Since I've seen this happen to other customers at this Marshalls, I have to assume it is at the direction of the store manager to hassle customers. He/She probably puts a lot of pressure on the associates, and it transmits to the customers. After all, I can't imagine the associate had any personal opinion about the return situation. read more

I don't know why this Marshall's is so much better than the other locations I have been to, but it just is. It isn't even that big, it's just the quality of the stuff I find their is better than other locations I have been to. I don't know why that is, but I find way more MK bags there are just less tacky stuff. The people that work their are average as far as customer service is involved. What did I do?!!! I just wanted to get some grocery at Sprouts, and then I saw Marshalls. So I decided to get myself some workout clothes. And then the shoes were near the door. And I thought no harm looking. And then there they were - I swear the blue wedges were talking to me. Next thing I know the box was in my hands. No, I haven't forgotten the workout clothes. Now the fitting rooms smell real funky, they were worse than the last time I went there. But for the sake of cheap workout clothes I shall persevere!!! But whatever you do in the fitting room, don't step on the floor with your bare feet. If you lose a shoe, balance on one foot till you step back into it. That's where yoga comes in handy. The floor is nasty. I wonder if they ever clean the place. But 4 pieces of sports wear for around $75!! Where can you get that kind of value? They have a decent range of shoes, clothing, inner wear here and I can actually find my size. ...and I only wanted to get some grocery at Sprouts. read more

Pretty typical Marshall's store, but I'd say better than some I've been to. This location doesn't seem to have clothes and other crap strewn about the floor like a lot of places do. Cashiers are fine and move the long checkout lines along pretty well. I usually stop by during my lunch break so quick check out is very important to me. read more

Shopping at any Marshalls is always like a treasure hunt for me. You never know what goodies you will find. Typically, this Marshalls is neat, organized and stocked. Event though the South Coast Marshalls has a wider variety, this Marshalls never disappoints. I always leave here with at least 2 items. The only reason I knocked off one star is because it closes at ten on weekends but they start announcing for customers to make their way to the cash registers at NINE! Then they proceed to remind you they close at ten every fifteen minutes thereafter. There's no need to remind customers every fifteen minutes of the closing time beginning at nine. read more

Can't believe I'm writing about Marshalls but my wife introduced me to this store and all the bargain finds you can get if you look hard enough. We've decorated a good portion of our house with the stuff here. good selection of home decor. Again its messy and its definetly not laid out for you like Pottery Barn but it is at 1/4th the price. read more

I LOVE shoes, and I love great quality shoes at low prices even more! They have the BEST selection of heel and boots at this location, and even the clearance rack is pretty decent. If you're tired of finding the same generic style of shoes that are "in season" from places like Bakers, this is the place to go. This review is mainly for junior's clothing and women's shoes. Seriously, this place gets better and better everytime I come! Tha stuff is reasonably priced and if you take time to actually look, you'll always walk out happily with somethin in hand. Right now they gots tha goods! They have chiffon tops, florals, dresses, rompers, cropped/off-tha shoulder tops, high waisted shorts (they go fast girls)! Don't even get me started on tha shoes! As for tha mens', I've heard tha stuff isn't as plentiful and nice as tha women's and juniors' buh check it out for yourself..oh and fitting rooms suck..buh suck it up! 5 Stars for a great selection, excellent prices and a friendly and helpful team of employees. A clean, well lit store stocked with a variety of items and at very reasonable prices. I saved a lot of time and money by shopping at this particular Marshalls. Great selection of designer clothes!! Wonderful book selection for kids!! Ok clothes for kids. Absolutely longest lines EVER! The people at the registers are prehistoric dinosaurs, slower than ever!!! Makes for a horrible shopping experience. And just assume everything you buy is final sale because woah to you if you have a return even with a tag they treat you like a criminal. And they also act personally offended that you have a return. Recently, I needed to return one pair of navy blue Calvin Klein shorts for 24.99 the following day I purchased the item. When I went to return the item I had the receipt but when the cashier took the item out of my bag it didn't have the attached tag, it must have fallen out. I explained to her that the item was for my son and it didn't fit but I wanted to see if I can get a refund or store credit when she saw the tag wasn't there she wasn't sure what to do so I said, "it must have fallen off, I will check in my car". I came back and I could not find the tag in the car so I asked if I can get store credit. She said, she had to ask someone else and took the item with her. Another Associate returned and she said, "You cannot return this because you washed it, I can tell and I can smell it." I was apalled by this erroneous accusation and disgusted by the judgement and unprofessional behavior. I said, "Please get your Manager, your inappropriate and I don't want to talk with you anymore".The Manager, Casey, came over with Associate1 and Associate2 and insisted "You washed it, you can't wash items and bring them back". I got so angry I was in tears. I left the store extremely confused by the verbal abuse, bullying and racism as this is the example of the Manager. It was grossly malicious, heinous and embarrassing in front of a line full of 10 people I was insulted for something I didn't do. I'm hoping that this doesn't happen to anyone else. Overall this is one of the best Marshall's in Orange County. I do like the South Coast Marshall's because they have a larger selection and merchandise is constantly restocked, but the Irvine Marshalls is much easier to shop in and well stocked. The location at Alton and Barrancca makes it convenient and there ton's of parking. Its almost like a hidden gem for Irvine residents! read more

I have been to a ton of locations and this one seems to be the nicest and kept clean, I usually stop in on my lunch break or after work so the line is always backed up (seems like they never have enough cashiers - regardless of the location). They have a pretty good section of dog toys/treats and even have grain free, made in the USA treats for under $5 bucks! read more

Terrible experience with Ted the poor example of the "manager on duty". Not only was he dismissive and rude, he was unwilling to even let me get a word in edgewise, when explaining a situation with a return and the receipt that I had misplaced. I was not asking for cash back, I was not even asking for a gift card I was purchasing something nearly three times as much as my return and I had bought this original item at another store while on the road and I'm not planning on going near that stores area soon ..the item had a small tear in it it was late and the store was getting ready to close with the original purchase. The item was on a size large hanger, and it was my fault for not looking or trying it on but I wanted to be expedient when they were getting ready to close. So when I went to try it on two days later I noticed the rip and the fact that it was a size small I didn't even attempt to put it on. The item was marked down already probably due to the tear. The original tags were still all attached and as I said I was wanting to purchase something that was three times as much as the return item... perhaps Ted needs some classes in not only customer service, but cost benefit analysis ...not only did he lose out on a sale three times as much, his curt and dismissive attitude got him and the store a bad review and as I travel to Southern California every month and used to shop there ,they also lost a customer . which he obviously didn't seem to give a damn about . As a previous retail manager and a regular shopper of the TJX Corporation let's look at what would have been a better thing for Ted to do perhaps.... in honoring my return, Ted would have kept a customer, I would have been grateful and he would have made a sale three times more than the return. He would not have had to mark down the item since it was marked down already, so they would have lost nothing but gained a sale and kept a happy and loyal customer.. Whatever happened to customer service and seeing the forest through the trees ? Ted didn't give a damn about the corporation itself and the big picture he just cared about having to take back up marked down item-Short sightedness does not make a good manager, neither does having your employees afraid to give your name as the supervisor. Ted obviously doesn't enjoy working with the public and doesn't have a concept of customer service.Ted should be working with inanimate objects not in the public sector. read more

Did a simple return on a gift I had originally purchased for Father' Day. The product was purchased less than 4 days after it had been purchased, it was in its original packaged sealed on all four sides not opened, with its original full priced barcode;not a red sticker item and I had my receipt and original form of payment on hand. The cashier insisted that the product I had bought was non returnable because it was a travel sized kit and could have been exposed to "bodily fluids". I was shocked, looking at the boxed item that I nor my dad even used! I politely told her the circumstances of my return and stated that there was no signage was posted no one told me at the point of purchase and nothing on my receipt said anything otherwise. the cashier said, "it's common sense" repeatedly. I stood there amazed at how inconsiderate she was for saying that especially working in customer service. After standing my ground she reluctantly gave me my return owed but she threw the receipt at me as if I was less than. I don't think I'll be returning to this location. I have never been mistreated this way and guess what I work in customer service. read more

I will never return. So I bought this game called ladder golf as a gift for someone. I found out they already had one, so I went to return it, but was informed that I cannot, as it was final sale. I work retail, and know things work like that. When we have sale items that are final sale, we tell them and ask if that is okay. So I have 3 problems with them: 1. Why not tell me it is final sale and that it cannot be returned? To their credit, there was a tiny sticker that said, "as is", however it was written in tiny letters and looked like it said, "asis". I did not even notice the sticker when I bought it, and even if I did, I would have assumed that it was some code. Regardless, I feel like that little sticker is a measly way to sell someone a defective item and let them be stuck 2. The item was COMPLETELY broken, like I couldn't even use it if I wanted to. The game consists of some PVC pipes that you assemble, but they were broken and literally unusable, like pieces broken in half. This all came in a big box that was taped together, so I guess they would prefer me to just open any item I would like to check out and leave the box destroyed. I totally feel like they knowingly sold this broken and nonreturnable item, which brings me to my next point. 3. I have shopped there for a few years, granted I am not in there every hour so I don't expect them to know me, but when I tried to speak to someone to explain it, she would not even listen, just told me it is nonreturnable. I couldn't even redeem it for store credit. I work retail, and know how a lot of customers can suck, but it goes both ways. Sure they are cheap, but so is the shit they sell. I shop at this Marshalls location often because it carries a lot of merchandise at reasonable prices and the management and customer service is impressive and my encounter, a couple of times, with the store manager was very positive! The one department that I like a lot is "Home" and one sales assistant there by the name of Rose has a few times helped me find items speedily and even with a couple of items that had no price tags, she was able to identify the prices for me. On a recent trip to Marshalls, I made a few purchases and also had a couple of returns and Rose was the cashier that served me. She was very polite and greeted me with a smile. With one of my items, there was no price tag and she paged for someone to come help but no one came and she went off quickly to find the identical item in the "Home" department with the right price tag and apologized to me for the delay. I ALWAYS go to this Marshalls bcuz I literally live down the street. I LOVED this Marshalls until today when I had an encounter with the RUDEST manager. I never write reviews but she irked me to the core. I was returning a dress I purchased literally 5 days ago because, well, it didn't fit.. Mind you the dress was in impeccable condition upon return, with tags and everyrhing. So she inspects the dress and she couldn't zip it up. She asks another guy employee to zip it up and he tried his hardest (muscle and all) but couldnt get it tp budge so now we're playing "how many Marshalls employees does it take to zip up a dress." She then turns to me and says "you wanna try it?" and I'm like "try what? Zipping it? FINE". At this point she hands me the dress and gives the spiel "oh well we'll take it this time but I'm gonna have to damage that out cuz the zipper is broken BLAH BLAH BLAH." Meanwhile here I am, the only one in this conversation that has a brain ZIPS UP THE GODDAMN DRESS IN ONE TRY. Good God help me, Jesus take the wheel. This lady has the audacity to accuse me of destroying a f*cking dress when I zip it up to her face. Needless to say I'm going to be calling corporate and file a complaint. Outrageous. THE NERVE. Some cashiers at this location have attitude problems. They are rude, annoying, not friendly. They don't even look at you when they are talking to you. Even this is the closest one to home, I probably won't ever go there anymore because of how I was treated when I was returning an item here today. Never go to this store!! The customer service is absolutely horrible and their return policy is ridiculous. I've been here many times because it's walking distance to my house, and every time I go, I regret it and say I'm never coming back. I came in last week to return something, had the tags on it but I brought the wrong receipt. So I came back with the right receipt, waited in a long ass line again for them to tell me it's been past 30 days so store credit only which is what I could've gotten last week when I had the wrong receipt. I spoke to manager who literally just kept repeating "unfortunately there's nothing I can't do about it" and kept pointing to the signs with their return policy like I'm an idiot. The "system" doesn't allow refunds to credit cards after 30 days. Um that's a lie. You just don't accept them. The other problem I have with this place is the dressing room situation. I'll count how many items I have in front of the attendant and they still insist on counting the items again to make sure you're not lying. THEN when you're done, you have to wait for them to count the items again so if you're in a hurry forget about it. You can't set your stuff down bc they'll stop you to check what you have in your hand like you're a criminal. Never going back to this pathetic store again... to be honest, their stuff isn't even that great. I mostly go for candles. read more

This is by far the worst Marshall's I have ever been in. It is kept clean and the selection is nice but the customer service is poor at best. Every salesperson and manager I have ever spoken with at the store seems miserable at their job, never willing to make exceptions and there has been many occasions where I have seen the sales people being confrontational with customers. I feel when you were in the customer service industry you have to be willing to bend, smile, and maintain a certain level of professionalism. There was actually a time where I returned a free people shirt that I paid $60 for. The guilt after spending that much took over and I decided to return the shirt. I had a receipt and it was within 30 days. The sales representative stood and examined the shirt over and over again. She then proceeded to go and validate the item. She called the manager over and they both for whispering about the shirt for about 5 minutes. When I questioned what the issue was the lead coordinator proceeded to tell me that she could not believe someone would spend that kind of money on that shirt. If anyone knows this brand they know that is vintage and is purposely made to look worn. It was embarrassing because I felt like I was doing something wrong and also rude that she decided to give her opinion on my shopping choice.This is one of many instances I have had at the store and have seen with other customers while being in the store. after this long review, my suggestion is to find a different want to shop that if you are able. read more

This marshalls has always given me the worst problems I received 2 shirts for my birthday and they did not fit so I came to return them and the lady who was really disrespectful to us then walks away keeps us waiting for 30 minutes in which she came back to tell me she wouldn't take one and that the other was only 2 dollars since when have any of you Marshall shoppers ever bought any shirts for 2 dollars !!! I was not going to argue with her but all I know is that marshalls steals your money and doesn't stand by their own return policy ! They both had tags on them ! I will never be coming back because the last time I was here I was going to buy a shirt and the lady at the register was so rude ! Honestly I don't find any reason for any store , resteraunt , etc to treat any of their customers badly . I have spent thousands of dollars at this store over the years. The lines at check-out are always long, which has always been a bummer, but I just had a horrible experience at this store and that is the point of this review. I will never do business with this Marshalls or any other again. Marshals management: You have just lost thousands of dollars in sales from me in the future. My story: I bought my girlfriend a Krueger Vue coffee machine for Christmas and the re-usable/re-fillable k packs that purportedly (the sales rep at Marshalls told me they did) went with it for around $111.00. I was handed a receipt that said I had a thirty day refund period. My girlfriend opened the machine for Christmas and loved it. She filled it with water and proceeded to fill the coffee in the K cup and put it in the machine only to find the K cup didn't fit. "No problem", I thought. "Re-fillable K cups are more than likely available in the new Vue size." They weren't and I couldn't find the standard cups in any store. My girlfriend said she didn't want it due to this, so I went back to Marshals within 30 days to make a return. They said NO!!! "No returns on electronic items" I was told. "Where on the receipt does it say that?" I asked. "It doesn't. It's on the sign at check-out." I asked to speak to the manager whose name was Tad. I told them I was willing to exchange for a coffee machine and other items that I could use. They said they couldn't get in touch with anyone to approve the refund/exchange. All this time the sales girls at the counter are giving my horrible looks like I am doing something wrong and making me feel exceedingly uncomfortable. Inevitably, after an hour and a half in the store, I left my number for them to call with the approval from the manager. I was called an hour later and told once again "No, we are not able to refund or exchange you." Watch out for these guys. Certain things are not covered under the 30 day refund policy and this is not on your receipt. Go to Target instead and get a real 30 day exchange policy. What a horrible experience and what horrible customer service. I will never return. read more
