This is about the best organized Dollar Tree location I've seen so far…read more I primarily shopped the cosmetic aisle when I was here which is a very tricky aisle for a store to keep organized and well faced. Well, this location nailed it. All of the various shades of a certain product were all hung on one peg. And by that I mean one peg for each shade unless there was a lot of one thing, then I did see two facings of the same item. There was a pretty good variety of shades and a lot of them were ones that I use. I ended up buying about 6 items this time around. I had been in this store several times before today and I figured where the store has kept things so nice over the at least 8 to 10 years that they have been open that it was time to give this location some acknowledgement for the hard work that they appear to be doing here. I only wish I lived closer to this location so that it could be the location that I primarily go to. It is a little more distance than I'd like for me to get there but when I happen to be in that area I always make it a point to stop here and get any items that I think I will be needing for a while and I do stock up. Also when I was in there this afternoon nothing was dusty. I can tell that this location sends the workers around with dusters to wipe off the products that they are selling. There were about 5 people in each line when I arrived to the front end to pay for my stuff, and two cashiers on duty, and the line moved a lot faster than I had anticipated so I am also very pleased with the speed of service. I will be frequenting this location for many years to come.

Not just cheap stuff but items in the hundreds of dollars. Essentially, it's free items if you shop there often. Larger items can be ordered online and shipped to the store which they did for the Air Hockey table I bought. The propane and garden plants are much less expensive than items of the same quality that you find in other stores. The only downside is that some of their merchandise is from closeouts and it won't be restocked once it's gone. The closeouts aren't junk and I've bought merchandise there that was on Amazon for three times the price. The more you shop there, the more you'll like it

I'm trying really hard not to start every Yelp review I write with "I'm from California."…read more But, I'm from California, and we don't have Ocean State Job Lot. We have weird places that are vaguely like Ocean State Job Lot, like Big Lots, but I could never go there because Big Lots locations in the city of Los Angeles are kind of uniformly gross. And I don't mean in a snobby way, I mean it in a homeless guy sleeping next to the front door kind of way. So I went to Ocean State Job Lot for the first time, and I kinda flipped out. I feel like I could spend three hours in OSJL and walk out less than a bill lighter. And that's a seriously good thing, especially after you move from Los Angeles to Massachusetts with 40 boxes and basically no furniture. OSJL is amazing. Did you need some real maple syrup? They have that. It's only $14 for the big bottle. Slipcover for your giant sofa from Target? $29, instead of the $60 that Target would charge. Awesome dog bed? They have that. $15. Bag full of assorted non-stick spatulas, spoons and stirring things? $5. I know I'm a newb, but my advice for OSJL shopping is, go in with a vague idea of things you need. For example, rugs. I need rugs. I go in, I find sixty thousand different rugs, all of which were pretty inexpensive. Success! I also needed some large, cobalt blue salad bowls. So those weren't there. Too specific! This is the type of place you go to shop for bargains, in a general sense, not for a specific bargain. Got it? Good.

The employee working at the costumer service register was very rude to me. I told the CS person that I was returning it because the awning was defective and had broken while I attempted to assemble it. The customer service person said it looked used? I told her it came that way. She argued with me and wasted my time arguing for 10 min while continuing to tell me that the awning looked used. I had the receipt and she resisted giving me my refund. Finally the manager of the store came over and suggested I get another awning. I said no, I would prefer a refund. The manager finally gave me my refund. Like the other Yelp reviewer said of Ocean State "Don't recommend giving money to this company. This place sucks. Management sucks. Employees suck. And the cheap damn products suck?" I agree with that reviewer Gabe W.
