Sweaters in the fall and spring, quilts and duvets in the fall - you get it. For a change, I was looking for someone to do alterations on a pair of jeans (at a great discount at Nordstrom's sale, btw) without forcing me to drive all the way to Natick - twice - to take advantage of a free service at Nordstrom. You understand, a HUGE discount on the perfect pair of jeans, that pooled at least 5 inches around my feet every time I tried them on, no matter what shoes I tried with them. Finding someone to do alterations in short order, at a reasonable price, and follow the directions? I was 75% sure I had a long trip up to Rt. 9 in my immediate future. And a return trip to pick them up. I did the legwork- went to the googlers, found some names, stalked their reviews here on Yelp, and then light dawned over marblehead - my drycleaner (who was always 100%) had Alterations listed on their website. What to lose? Dropped them off, expecting a week for return, got the text TWO DAYS LATER that they were ready for pickup, and if it hadn't snowed a foot the next day . . . The jeans were done for a more than reasonable cost. The hem is perfect. The customer service at the store in the Hingham Shipyard was off the charts, as usual. I didn't have to pack a lunch and roadtrip up to Route 9. Everything fell into place perfectly, and Dependable was . . .more than dependable.

Soooo many reasons NOT to give this horrible drycleaner your business! First, their prices are…read moregouging & exorbitant. Second, their front desk attendant is shockingly dim witted and can't do the most basic of transactions. Third, they don't communicate accurate clothing ready times. And in my case, they ruined a pair of my favorite linen pants. Go somewhere else!

-- cross posting my review on google --…read more Former Newbury street, Boston client, looking for a comparable result on the south shore, and I am ecstatic. I followed my prior stylist for 15 years but when the covid shutdown happened and then remote work, it became increasingly difficult to get into the city. I had tried a different Hingham salon and the color and cut just didn't compare...so when I could, I struggled back into the city when I could to get the color and cut I needed. I finally couldn't do it anymore and happened upon reviews for Texture and Gloss. I could not be happier!! The color and cut is even better than what I had. I have a lot of hair. Left to air dry it is curly but unpredictable in its curls and general shape. And I had no way to deal with it. Brush it and it's frizzy! Blow dried it keeps its shape (unless it's too humid) but that was a lot of work and I was at a loss. I'm in my late 30s with my hairline going white (not grey) -- a stark difference from my usual natural brunette. I called Texture and Gloss and explained I was coming from a Boston salon, needed color and gloss and cut, and they offered two stylists. I chose the senior stylist, Amanda, and I'm beyond thrilled. She listens but also advises. She is creative and skilled. She is upbeat and positive and makes the entire experience light and fun but also a self-care moment. I first went in late January. I told her about my curly-natural but blow-dry-straight hair and how i struggled and what I needed. She gave me a better cut than I had in Boston. She taught me how to handle my curly hair (when I wanted it) and advised on a product to use (only when I asked! She didn't push!). And the cut looks great both curly and straightened (with a blow-dry). Cost is a little less than Boston but not a lot less. But she's a senior stylist and deserves it, honestly. (You get what you pay for! Plus, without commuting in, the cost in terms of time and money still makes Texture and Gloss a steal.) Obviously went back for my second cut and color and love it as much or more than the first time! Highly recommend.

Called to schedule my first appointment, which was a correction, and I was told that a new stylist,…read moreAmanda, would take me and it would be around $300 for a color correction and cut (and assuming blow dry or reduction in price if I left with wet hair). First appointment was $582.06 (two hair products purchased so let's say $500) + $100 tip. Explanation for an appointment that is more than I spent going to the best salons in NYC was the hair color correction + cut but next time would be around $220-230 (assumed color + cut + dry, just without the correction excuse). Second appointment was just a partial highlight, root color and some other color - no cut and they sent me home with wet hair for $281, not including tip. I told the girl at the front desk that between two appointments - taking out products totaled $600 + 281 =$881.00 or $440 an appointment, which is outrageous and I'll never go back. The salon should never allow stylists to gauge their clients. So many could never afford this so I help this review gives future customers a chance to lock in a price before booking an appointment.

The shopping center includes many other places surrounding the complex including a Marshalls, Stop&Shop, 99 Restaurant and many other spots, making this area a good destination. There is also Lowe's, Michaels, and Staples right down the road too. This shopping center includes more of the "higher end" type places, but also regular national retailers. It's honestly a good combination that can be attractive to all shoppers. Talbots, CVS, Old Navy, Ulta, and Bed Bath & Beyond just to name a few. Many restaurants surround the complex including Wahlburger's, AlmaNove, Panera, Menchie's (my personal favorite), BeerWorks and more. Two grocery stores, Trader Joe's and The Fresh Market are also both inside the complex. A movie theatre, Patriot Cinema 6 is also inside the complex. Not the most options around; however, a good assortment of places to go. Overall, I'd definitely come back here, it would just be better if all the places to shop in Hingham were closer together for convenience (Derby Street and here); however, I guess I shouldn't complain since that could cause traffic nightmares. Overall, it's nice and deserves a sold 3 stars.

Coldwater Creek drives me crazy! The long-time catalog retailer went through bankruptcy in 2014,…read moreshuttering all its stores. Another group bought the name, and began revitalizing the brand. They went back to their catalog roots, and have since opened back up a few brick & mortar stores. My online research indicates this is their headquarters office location now. They apparently ship out of Indiana. Which is one of the reasons that I'm not happy with them at this time. First, in their original incarnation, they offered lots of sales opportunities - 30 to 40 per cent off retail would crop up often enough that I could shop seasonally and not break the bank. Their full retail prices are high. Since they re-launched, those kinds of sales are not the norm. You might occasionally see 20% off everything or 40% off one regular priced item. The next factor is shipping. These days we're all pretty used to free two day shipping from Amazon for Prime members, and even WalMart offers free shipping to their stores for pick-up. CWC doles out their free shipping opportunities very sparingly. I had an order all queued up several weeks ago, but ultimately didn't complete the sale due to a shipping fee of $18. That's enough for a top or a scarf at other places! Why would I want to pay that much for shipping that's not two-day, or any day's guarantee, for that matter? Several weeks later, a new offer did come through via email. 40% off one regular price item, 20% additional off sale items, plus free shipping. That one I decided to jump on. Placed the order on the 26th. Not due to be delivered until November 7th. By then, I'll forget what I wanted! Also, one of the items, which was featured in a promo email, and also graces the cover of their latest catalog is back-ordered, from the get-go! I can understand that the catalog cover was planned a long time ago, but the promo email? They couldn't update that in a timely manner? Hard to believe! I had already put the top in my cart and learned that it was back-ordered until 11/8. By the time I confirmed the order, it dropped to 11/15. At that point, I complained to Customer Service. They offered me a one time 25% off my next order with free shipping. Wow; so generous, right? Today, when I was looking up when my other items might arrive, I see that 11/7 is the anticipated date. 11 days post-order. Not impressive! Oh yes, and my plaid top for the holidays? Now scheduled to SHIP on 12/2. Which means, I might receive it for New Year's. Yikes! This is not impressive service, Coldwater Creek!
