I am not the only person who has had this problem: https://www.reddit.com/r/MacysStores/comments/1b7szmo/gift_card_issues/ None of the customers in that thread show that Macy's had made any restitution to their customers. The card number gets printed on the receipt and is only protected by a 4 digit CID that could easily be brute force cracked (only 10,000 combinations). Sometimes there are only 2 digits for the PIN. One person had $3500 stolen from them. Macy's needs to talk to corporate and put a stop to this. This is ridiculous.

My friend's mom was boot shopping and she was able to find some really nice boots on sale. The service received was ok. The lady assisting was helpful. I experienced the worst customer service exchange in my life in the ladies department at Dillards…read morewith a rep who later explained she was a manager. I purchased an item that turned out to be too big and found it in a small. The tag was on and I had the receipt. Like most stores you need both for returns and I had the items for 7 days. The rep/looked at the receipt and said I had 3 days to return the item, because the label was Free-people. I explained this was not told to me during the purchase and I cannot do anything with a piece of clothing that is too big. I asked for the manager and that's when she explained she was also the manager. I was surprised because managers are empowered to step out of the box and make decisions that are good for the customer and the store. This manager decided to make an example of me in front of other customers and my daughter by denying an exchange and choose policy over people and additional store profit. In ending I hope Dillards reads this review and retrains management to use better judgment when comes down to basic principles in doing what is right for customers who have supported them for years. I am not sure if the store is struggling or if the manager is in fear of loosing her job, either way I left the store feeling betrayed and baffled by a policy that did not make sense. I did not ask for my money back only to have an item that fit. After reviewing the receipt it was clear, this applied to refund, not exchanges.

What a surprise! I…read moredecided to just cruise around a Von Maur to see a beautiful building with Uber class clothing & things (but clearly not in a price range I consider "responsible.") Boy, was I wrong! Their quality was at least as high as I expected... Top notch, even Uber Class! But, to my great surprise, the prices were competitive with discount houses!!! I should have been shopping here for years! The quality was so spectacular, and sale prices lower than the cheapest discount stores, that I could not resist buying my wife (not with me) a Spectacular sequined jacket and pants outfit for almost giveaway prices (on sale)! If I told you the jacket cost $16 on discount, would you believe me? Well, check me out. They have massive discounts of top quality clothing at set times each week. I just, by chance, got lucky it was one of those days... Oh, and the store interior was as beautiful as the outside. Simply Uber Class! At hard to believe DISCOUNTS! Enjoy!

I arrived at exactly 7:50pm, and right when I walked in the door, the associate behind the customer service desk yelled out to me "we are closed." Anyways, two days later I returned back to jc penny to try and pick up my order once again. I arrived at the customer service desk to pick up my item. The lady gave me a packaged fully wrapped up item, which I assumed was the item I had ordered, especially because it had a label with my name on it. Well I got home, unwrapped the package, and it WAS NOT the item I had ordered!! It was a comforter! I had ordered a mattress pad NOT a comforter!!
