Online Macy's Shopper Beware!! I have been a cardholder with Macy's for over 33 years, and I am significantly disappointed in their online customer service after purchasing a Vince Camuto Coat online. Beware, buyer!! Macy's is dealing with 3rd party sellers, and they are not assisting their customers with the returns. I purchased a $390 coat, but it was too small. I bought another coat that fit online. When it arrived, I brought the smaller one into the store, and they told me to call customer service to set up the return. I did, and to sum this up, the 3rd party refused to accept the coat back. I spent hours on the phone trying to rectify this over 3 months. Today's finale is that I have to wait again for them to request a return label from the 3rd party. read more

I was here looking for luggage & even with the sales I couldn't justify paying over $600 for a two-piece luggage set. Journeying over to the Jewelry Department & ended up being assisted by Vonnette, who was such a charm. As I guided her with gifts for the new addition to our family, there was no upselling on her behalf. After I completed my purchases & before I could request, Vonnette offered to gift wrap my purchases - complimentary. While wrapping took place, I made my way to the smell-good departments where Testers are still absent due to C-19, yet samples are happily offered. I returned for those mini gift boxes that were perfectly wrapped up, the boxes were more popular than the Easter Eggs. I experienced outgoing & welcoming customer service throughout the store, regardless of where I ended up shopping. Is it me or does Macy's offer sales on a continuum? First, I am not complaining about the store but about the warranty they are selling. I bought a sofa at Macy's 6 months ago and a stain was accidentally made. I decided to use the warranty they offer (for 6% of the price of the sofa). Long story short, they have done anything to denied my claim although it was perfectly legitimate. So I must say that they are acting in bad faith and you SHOULD NOT TAKE it for the simple reason that they will deny it. My husband passed away in Jan of 2025. I am having to move to an apartment. I have been shopping for a sofa for over 2 weeks with no luck. I believe, I just am not in the mood to shop right now. I got my sister to go with me so she can help me make a decision. We went into Macy's in Alpharetta. I found the perfect sofa. The sofa was listed as a floor model with additional discounts. The price was perfect and I was just relieved I had finally found something. I told the sales lady to write it up. She all of a sudden tells me she has to check on something. She comes back with a manager who then proceeds to tell me the sofa was not suppose to be marked down as a floor model. Then proceeds to tell me its going to cost me about $1000 more. I asked, so you are not going to honor the price that is on the sofa and she said sorry they can't. Talking about false advertisement. I was just devastated. The package did NOT arrive and I received a message from the site that said "Sorry there was a problem with your order" and I was not able to file a claim. Macys allows men to go into women's dressing rooms.This happened to me twice on July 2, 2023 at Perimeter Macys and Northpoint Macys. The first was at Perimeter. I asked the salesperson to ask the man to leave, she was to business, so I told him sternly to leave and he did. On the same day, in the fitting rooms by the women's bathing suits, a man was in the cubicle with his significant other. I asked the salesperson to have him leave and he ignored her. I then asked for her to call security. She called the store manager who radioed back , it is illegal to ask someone to leave a dressing room. I later spoke one on one it's the same manager who repeated the law and said all dressing rooms in Macys are unisex. NEWS TO ME! There are no signs indicating this, so beware! This is for the Bobbi Brown cosmetic counter at this location. I had come in looking for a nude color lipstick that I've been wearing for years. There was a very nice woman that was working behind the counter that day and she offered to help me. As I was getting ready to check out she curiously aske if that lip color was for me. I said "yes. I've been wearing it for years." She then asked if I would be interested in looking at another shade because she felt that the shade I was purchasing didn't suit me quite as much. To make a long story short, I ended up with a totally different color lipstick that I would of never in a million years bought. It was a coral peach with glitter. It's still close to my natural lip color but its got more peach to it. Apparently the one I was wearing had too much brown. At first I was unsure about all that glitter I mean its okay for Elton but for this Asian I'll look like a walking Puerto Rican Day parade. Well it turned out the glitter just subtle and made the lipstick look almost lip gloss but without it being a lip gloss.... Unbelievable mess. It's seriously heartbreaking how downhill Macy's has gone. Racks on racks of miss matched sizes styles. Piles of clothes that need to be returned to its proper place. Fitting room shut down with racks of crap in front of the doors so you can't get in. And the store needs to completely shut down until it can be organized and cleaned. If they can't find the staff to run the store open it only modified hours or something. The poor staff that is working are at their breaking point and they're embarrassed by their workplace. I was super kind to them and the lady started to cry because she's so frustrated. If they're going to shut the store down do so before Macys ruins its reputation any further than they are by keeping the store open. I worked in retail for years and it made me sick to my stomach to see how neglected it is. Seriously the only solution I can see is a temporary shut down in modified hours. This is just a review of the toilets for Macy's. I was going to go to Starbucks to study but stop by here because I know Nordstrom has the best bathrooms. Well what if a mall doesn't have nordstrom! You go to Macy's. Bathroom is quiet got its private doors so you won't have to be embarrassed by the droplets of solid waste next to you. Toilet seat covers are provided. Toilet paper is very thin so you may wanna get double fold them. Doors look like the doors I have in my laundry room. They also play Selena Gomez which is nice. Her voice masks the sound of my droplets. I know in New Yorker, a toilet like this is considered a luxury. read more

This is not about the location but about MACYS! I ordered my Monroe II upholstered bed in September, and in November I had to call it appeared my order was canceled. No one at Macys could say why, I was told that the note said "No longer needed" Clearly it was still needed if I was calling to look for my bed. My bed finally arrived on a Tuesday morning, because of work i was not able to open until Saturday (my day off) And the bed head was broken in 4 different places. The wood was broken , the bed head was not staying together. Look at the pictures! When I called I was told that when you get furniture delivered you only have 3 days to return or exchange and i was outside of that window being that it was now Saturday (day 4) They will be send a third party person to fix it or determine if it will be replaced, however to add on top of it all the bed won't be available until February 2022! I travel for work and I am gone weeks at a time. For my inconvenience I was give $50. Not worth the stress read more

One of my favorite places to shop if I'm trying to kill my lunch break. I really like their MK and CK collections here. Sometimes I would just find myself browsing around and a good bargain will pop up. There's this one really nice lady who seems to always be willing to scan a coupon for me if I ask if there's an event or sale going on. She's a petite lady with super short hair in front of the fitting rooms adjacent to the lingerie department and near the entrance to the mall. She's the sweetest! Sometimes I've found a few items that were cheaper at the register because the sales tag wasn't updated so just use the price checker to be super accurate. The store overall isn't too terribly messy, but I feel like they have more inventory on the floor than they can hold on the racks since the clothes are tightly packed together. The dressy rooms are clean on average. Some sales associates are friendlier than others, and it varies among the departments. Overall a pretty big Macy's with a good selection of sales and deals going on. read more

After the other reviews, I figure someone has to have something positive to say about this Macy's. Personally, I don't have much of an issue with the staff or the service I've received. I've gone in directly after work near closing time and was able to find someone to help me, and I've gone on a Sunday and again, was able to find someone to assist me. Im one of those people where I prefer not to be stalked all over the department store, nor do I want to be greeted 20 times in a less than an hour, so maybe that's part of the reason I enjoy this Macy's as I didn't experience any of that. I normally enter on the lower level that right outside of American Girl, it can be tricky to find a parking spot on this side, but I'm normally able to pull into a space just as someone is pulling out. Most recently, I purchased swimsuits and they had three people working in the area on a Saturday evening about 6pm, so I had no issue with finding someone to open a dressing room for me or ring up my purchases. IMO, their Rachel Roy department is better and more organized than the Lenox location. 88 of 100 read more

SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO LET THE PEOPLE KNOW AND STAND UP FOR YOURSELF! In general, I like Macy's. They have some really nice clothing options and I appreciate the text alerts that let me know of sales and special promotions. This morning I received such an alert and decided that I would order a really cute cape since I will be traveling next weekend. Capes are perfect because you can easily layer under them without creating uncomfortable bulk and you can dress them up or down. They are the perfect travel companion and ideal for performance venues where seats tend to be narrow and space is limited. Since I needed to return an item to Macy's, I chose to pick up my item from the store rather than have it delivered. They have consolidated all services, (returns, on line purchases etc) in one area in the junior's department. When I walked in to pick up my item, it went very well. I simply showed my driver's license and they pulled my item. I left happy. However, later as I was playing with my garment, I noticed that they had actually given me the incorrect size. Curses!! I called and asked if they had the correct item available. I explicitly stated to Damien that I wanted to verify the garment and have it held in my name so that there would not be a problem and services could be expedited. Although I stated that I would pick up the garment tomorrow, I decided to just do it ASAP in order to get the issue resolved. When I arrive, I notice that my garment is not held at the desk as expected. I'm told that the items are actually pulled from the floor so I decide to save time and just look for myself. It is immediately clear that my item did not come from the floor because there are no capes only coats and jackets. When I return, the employee is on the phone with Damien who informs her that they do not have the cape. I inform her (nicely), that I will expect Macy's to reorder my item at their expense and have it expedited if necessary so that I can get it on time. When the manager Damien arrives I explain this to him and there is no problem. He agrees because in this situation, what I requested was reasonable since I had made two trips in one day and had been inconvenienced unnecessarily. The new item was ordered with the shipping waived and it should arrive on time. Crisis averted! *** The moral of the story is to make sure that you check the "sewn in" tag and not just the hanging tag. The hanging tag was not accurate and this is the tag they referenced when pulling the garment. ***If you request to have a garment pulled and held in your name, double check that this has been done prior to leaving for the store. Macy's, we are okay but I'm watching you! *** My cape arrived on time, (two days later). When there has been a mistake with your order, avoid going ballistic. Take a deep breath and decide what will make you whole or address the problem. Don't be afraid to ask for what you think is fair because a reasonable business will want to make sure that the customer is satisfied. As far as I am concerned, this was an ideal outcome. read more

I've always loved shopping at Macy's because they carry just about everything one may need. I especially like their INC Department - that line is one of my favorite clothing lines because of its flawless cuts and designs, not to mention, colors that are bold and beautiful. One associate that I have to mention is Sheida in the INC department. I shop here a lot and I have never seen this woman without a big smile on her face. It's enlightening. She always greets me and does her very best to help me choose the perfect outfit. At the register she is always the one to remind me to use my Plenti points and ask if I have coupons (I always forget these things!). In one word, Sheida is remarkable. I took my daughter to shop for a special occasion dress, which turned out to be an absolute disappointment. She had seen several things online that she wanted to go and "try-on". Well that is NOT an option at this location(Macy's NorthPoint Mall Alpharetta, GA). We found a dozen dresses she wanted to try on but could not find an "open" fitting room. No fitting rooms were open. NONE. I understand there are covid regulations and short staffing but our experience was ridiculous. We went to at least 7 fitting rooms, all closed. We asked a sales associate where we could try on clothes and she said "I have no idea". So do you want me to purchase items from your store? I can not do this without the ability to try them on first. I am a 20+ year retail employee, never have I ever had a negative experience such as this. I had been looking for a slim fit suit under $250 for quite a while and I found just that at this Macy's location. I enjoy shopping here because the associates are all very knowledgeable in their respective departments and also very understanding. Let me start off by saying that I'm a Macy's addict... I have a platinum Macy's card. Every mall I go to, I enter through Macy's and leave at least $100 there on my way to getting to the mall. I love their coupons, I love their prices, I love their selection. If I could only shop at one store for the rest of my life it would be here. Ok, you get the picture. But... this location is horrible! I've been here a handful of times, since my office is close to this mall, but I really don't think I want to come back. And the reason is the SERVICE here (or lack thereof). About 6 months ago, I was in this store looking for some shoes. I was looking to buy at least 3-4 different pairs of shoes and had picked out several I wanted to try. Do you think I could find anyone to bring me the shoes to try on? There were several women waiting for shoes and one person serving the entire area. I know this was during the week, but come on.... after waiting for 30 minutes without as much as getting a greeting, I left.... and bought the same shoes at Dillards. My trip there the other day was not much better. This time it was for a purse. One lady was helping me in one area, then I walked over to the designer purses where they had a designated sales person. The first sales lady "stalked" me to the designer purses and sniped at the second sales person that SHE had been helping me and basically shoo-ed her away. Uhm... ok! I don't really care as long as someone knows the product (she obviously didn't). Very unprofessional. In a couple of other areas I observed women helplessly wondering around with arms full of clothes searching for someone...ANYONE to assist them. I only saw a small number of attended cash registers. I've been to many Macy's stores around the Atlanta area and I think this one has to be the worst in terms of customer service. I think I'll keep going to Perimeter Mall from now on. read more

I have had two very negative experiences with Macy's in the past few weeks. One was a gift I ordered and paid for, that was never delivered. Two months after It was supposed to have arrived, and I hadn't heard from the person I sent it to, I finally asked if she received it (cringing that she may have, just not sent thank you note). The gift was never received. I called Macy's. Oh yes, it didn't arrive and the baby clothes I purchased were not available now. The tracking info shows it shipped and was in transit and then it just stopped. No one from Macy's had contacted me or the receiver and I had not been given a refund. So, if I had never gotten the nerve up to ask my cousin if she received it and then contacted Macy's, not only would I never have known it didn't arrive, but they wouldn't have refunded my money!!!! They didn't refund the money until I called to say it never arrived. This was several months after I ordered and paid for the item. Macy's use to be a great store, but it's gone way down, especially their customer service.The second issue when I was trying to return a dress. I had the receipt ($134), tags on, perfect condition. But apparently they have changed their return policy and after 90 days, there is no refund or credit given. Nothing. Not a store credit (I assumed it would be store credit since I was returning so far from purchase), exchange, credit back to card. There is a reason it took so long for me to return, but no-one at Macys, cared to hear it, despite the fact that I have been an excellent customer for many years. I think the cashier was happy she didn't have to do anything. I explained the "mistake" that Macy's made with the baby present, but they didn't care. I got a necklace from Macy's the day after Black Friday and a manager, a skinny white man with white hair, sold it to me asking for my phone number and email. He told me "you don't need the receipt now because we have you in our system. So if you need to return it just come back here and give us your phone number and we can do the return." Two months later I came back to return it and was told by Mali "he doesn't work here anymore he has no idea what he was talking about. You need the receipt and tag I can't use your phone number or email." So when I told her I don't have the receipt because he never gave me one saying I don't need it, she said "sorry I can't help you then." Now I'm short $600 because they just fired the person who sold it to me and gave me misinformation. Absolutely horrible customer service, no responsibility for their own mistake, and she was rude about it too. Super busy for a Saturday. Hands down the busiest store in the whole mall. Easy to shop. We visited the men's department (ties) and ladies shoes. My husband found a tie within 20 minutes and I had no luck with shoes. The checkout took us the longest. The men's checkout line was so long we waited until after checking out shoes. The ladies at the coach counter rang us but it took a long time for them to assist the two women ahead of us. Complicated return exchange situations. Not their fault I just wish there were either more registers OR easier POS processes to move the lines more quickly. read more
