I love Anthro, here in Atlanta or whenever we travel and I see a store I have to stop by. My regular store is Avalon Blvd in Alpharetta. My Mother in law, sister in law and me love this brand. We wish they bring back the clearance section we always found good stuff there. The customer service on the phone isn't the best but in store they are very nice. read more

Interaction with an associate and manager today turned me off to the brand permanently. An outfit purchased online during "sale on sale" arrived to our house yesterday. Absolutely unwearable and cheap looking, so I (as someone who has shopped from the URBN brands and used to work for the company since 2007) started the return process on my phone. We accepted some pretty crazy returns in my time there. The options their own website provided were: to return it to a store near me for free (Avalon), or to ship it back via UPS for $5. The associate said they couldn't accept it because it was purchased during "sale on sale". When I inquired as to why the website allowed me to initiate a return, she said she had no idea and I could leave it with them to "throw it away" or take it with me and "try to sell it or something". We left the store with the item and I re-checked the Anthropologie website and return process (for the exact items I had purchased). Once again, it allowed me to return it - so I went back in the store and asked a manager what the policy was - she looked at the website on my phone and said she'd process the return for a "one time exception". She then acted like I'd worn the item - it had a tag detached - and the reason I was returning the item is because I hated the way it looked!! I've never felt so embarrassed or unheard. URBN/Anthropologie, why does your website allow in store returns to sale on sale items, but your associates seem clueless as to the true rule? There's too many retailers that carry similar products - I'll never shop here again. By the way, again, I used to work for the company and even purchased my wedding dress from BHLDN. The way the associates are allowed to treat loyal customers has seriously gone downhill. read more

I have now been to several Anthropologies in the Atlanta area and love that they all have such unique identities. The Ponce City Market location has an extensive collection of home items and a design center. The Lenox store has an expanded beauty selection and petites. Westside carries the BHLDN collection of wedding/formal gowns. So what's Avalon's claim to fame? A+ (plus sizes)! Comparatively this store does seem on the smaller side, but I do really like that they carry a small assortment of plus size clothing in stores. Though they offer free returns for plus sizes online, I think it is great to have the option of seeing some of the items in store. I do have to note that the customer service at some of the other stores is better in general. Just as an example, I have been contemplating opening the new Anthropologie UP account ($98 for free shipping, free returns, 15% off all purchases, and a $40 gift card) and saw the signage in this store. However, the associate didn't ask me about the new program. When I visited the Ponce City Market location a week later, the associate asked me at checkout and I ended up opening the account. Manager is SO rude. It seems like Anthropologie has made changes to its return policy. I recognize this is not the managers fault. HOWEVER, the way in which she delivers the message is condescending and rude. I also recognize that she may have had a slew of rude customers before dealing with me. But I was neither rude nor abrasive so her frustrations can be taken out elsewhere. She needs a bit of manager training IMO. read more

Whether I go to Anthropolgie in Alpharetta, Chattanooga, or NYC, they're all pretty much the same. While I'm an avid thrift store shopper, I frequently throw caution to the wind and say 'the hell with it' as I plunk down big bucks for the cool and edgy clothing this chain always carries. Came in the other day with my daughter on a mission to find lightweight outfits for a summer wedding in Israel. (It'll be over 100 degrees! And the wedding is outdoors!!) Our salesperson -- wearing cool clothes herself -- helped us pull together some great looks. She even ran out for a necklace to show me what I'll look like accessorized. Sold! The staff in this shop are helpful. The sales room -- always my first stop -- had a bunch of nice things. And, because I registered the last time, I received a 15% coupon to use during my birthday month of June. Sometimes it's worth it to splurge. read more

Went their yesterday for the first time. Number one, parking is terrible and not convenient. I wear Petites and there was not one in the store. The first person I worked with was very nice, but she had to go on break. I ask why they did not have petites, I was told that I could order them on line (just what I did not want to do) and then was told well then I needed to go to the Lenox store. It was already 2:00 in the afternoon and to get from Alpharetta to Lenox is a drive that I would not make on any day. I would not go to Lenox without someone to drive me and a body guard. They acted as if Lenox was just around the corner. I agree with the others, the prices are insane for the quality. Will not be back to that store again. read more

I've been in here a number of times and have never been wowed by the experience but I just called to ask a very simple question and the said they would check and then proceeded to leave me on hold for 35 minutes. Without coming back. Sounds like they just weren't in the mood to do their job. There is an Anthropologie down the road from here in sandy springs or maybe just don't shop this over priced brand anymore. I certainly don't recommend after this ridiculous experience today. read more

BEAUTIFUL STORE, BEAUTIFUL COLLECTION This store is located on Avalon Blvd. directly across from the concierge stand. Upon entering the store, there is a small foyer that leads to the left or right. There is also someone who immediately greets you. The design of this store is very open and spacious. I even found myself admiring the natural wood floors. I love the seating areas located throughout the store. My husband likes to take me shopping so I am always looking for a nice sitting area where he can chill while I peruse the collections. This story will suit a variety of tastes because the clothing is very tasteful and they have a lot of modern pieces that are just very nice. I love the fabrics and the designs are perfect for spring and for layering when traveling. All items are beautifully displayed and this is the type of store where you can just linger for hours. It is a great store for obtaining those special pieces to add to your basic wardrobe. read more

All I have to say is the women that work in this store are super stuck up. Not only did I hear them blatantly talking bad about other coworkers right in front of me multiple times, but the last time I was there I asked an associate to check for a shirt in a different size for me, and she said it was completely sold out. However, while visiting Anthropologie at Perimeter Mall a girl there looked up the shirt and told me that it was available online and that they would be more than happy to order it for me with free shipping. I have had multiple negative encounters at Anthropologie at Avalon other than the ones mentioned above, and after my more than pleasant visit at Perimeter Mall, I am no longer going to the Avalon location. read more

I'd never been to an Anthropologie, so I was looking forward to checking it out. I always see 'hacks' on Pinterest so I was curious. The first thing I noticed was the smell, heavenly! We were greeted and welcomed in the store. I didn't know it was a mix of clothing and home goods. As I looked at items that were both clothing and home goods, I was shocked by the prices. My husband called it absurd, I can't disagree. Now I know why people are hacking their own versions for much less. Don't get me wrong it was a lovely store, but I won't be back unless I decide to become a 'hacker' as well. read more

I love Anthropologie and I always buy online or usually go to the store at Lenox mall. I was meeting my friend at Avalon that day, so I decided to go to Anthropologie at Avalon. I found a pretty top and I wanted to buy it, but it had black stains. So I talked to an employee, she said the store doesn't have it so I can order new one at register and ship to my house for free. I went to the register and talked to other employee. She asked me why I need to order new top. I told her because it's dirty. She said "you are ordering same thing as this one right here". I said "yes I know but I don't want a dirty clothes". She told me "it comes off easily". And keep telling me I should just buy it and clean it at home. I said "then why don't you clean it right now". Then she said she can't clean right now. I was so mad that this employee tried and tried to make me buy something dirty. Why couldn't she just be like "sorry about it and I can order new one for you"!!! The employee was so rude. I've been to different Anthropologie stores and never ever had bad experience until this. read more
