While La Bella Maison was beautiful, we felt uncomfortable from the staff's initial greeting--first in the store next door and then in La Bella Maison. Upon arrival, the employee asked if we were on a field trip or something. My friend and I each had our adult children with us. Not a field trip. Then we entered La Bella Maison, where the employee was on the phone stating "yes, they just walked in". She hung up and told us the other store had called her to tell her about a group of beautiful people coming her way. ??? It was beyond bizarre--and disappointing.

It's a small boutique, located near Regal and various other small shops, that carries designer clothes, jewelry, accessories, shoes... It's set up very nicely, and once you start sifting through everything, you just want to snatch everything up! I ended up buying a beautiful blue Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent dress, which is probably my favorite dress ever, and I've received SO many compliments! I wasn't planning on getting anything when I walked in, but when I came out with that dress, I was pretty darn happy! The woman who was working there that day was very pleasant and super friendly. There seems to be a lot of regulars and I would say that the clientele is stylish-upper-middle-class-pretty-clothes-loving ladies. Absolutely appalling experience at Piper and Lillies…read more Our 15-year-old daughter went in Sunday to spend money she had saved on a Jellycat. Before purchasing, she specifically asked about the return policy and was told "30 days." Minutes later, after deciding she couldn't justify spending over $100 with tax, she attempted to return the untouched item and was told Jellycats were not returnable. That was frustrating. What happened next was far worse. When my wife called, manager Trey suggested that our daughter had taken a bracelet she had been looking at -- effectively accusing a 15-year-old girl of theft. She had simply picked up a bracelet while shopping, carried it to the Jellycat display, and set it down there before making her purchase. She went back into the store and showed the employee exactly where she had left it. Her boyfriend recorded the interaction. She walked out bawling after being treated like a thief. Rather than apologize or show any concern, Trey remained accusatory. My wife then spoke with owner Julia Butler, who was equally rude, confrontational, and dismissive. Businesses have every right to investigate theft. They do not have the right to presume a child is guilty without establishing the facts. A 15-year-old walked into this store excited to spend her own saved money and walked out sobbing after being made to feel like a criminal. The conduct of both management and ownership was disgraceful. I would strongly caution any parent before allowing their child to shop here.

Everything is hand picked and selected just for the shop, and there's nothing better than a store full of one of a kind pieces. Many shops (including a major chain) try to fill the gift space but I love to find unique items that are not everywhere. That is how I felt here. While speaking to the young lady, she told me there are only a couple of locations. This is not a chain! I like that. They had choices from gifts to decor to clothing and so much in between. My daughter has a wedding to attend next weekend and we found a dress that I thought would be perfect. It looked great on her. The other day while at work, they broke mid-step while I was simply walking. The store refuses to refund or exchange. Their excuse was that they "can't resell damaged product if they accept the return". Well, unfortunately you will also never be able to sell to this customer again. A simple refund of a measly $23 and I would have been on my way. I cannot even imagine stepping foot in their store again. You get better service from Forever 21, and that is sad. I am not familiar with other boutiques return policies, but I strongly advice you put down the cute pair of bell bottoms you see at Ensemble and go find them at another boutique who respects your business. I am so incredibly disappointed.
