What a surprise! I…read moredecided to just cruise around a Von Maur to see a beautiful building with Uber class clothing & things (but clearly not in a price range I consider "responsible.") Boy, was I wrong! Their quality was at least as high as I expected... Top notch, even Uber Class! But, to my great surprise, the prices were competitive with discount houses!!! I should have been shopping here for years! The quality was so spectacular, and sale prices lower than the cheapest discount stores, that I could not resist buying my wife (not with me) a Spectacular sequined jacket and pants outfit for almost giveaway prices (on sale)! If I told you the jacket cost $16 on discount, would you believe me? Well, check me out. They have massive discounts of top quality clothing at set times each week. I just, by chance, got lucky it was one of those days... Oh, and the store interior was as beautiful as the outside. Simply Uber Class! At hard to believe DISCOUNTS! Enjoy!

I ordered socks to be shipped to me since the online app took my order twice then cancelled it…read moresaying they couldn't verify my address which was absolutely ridiculous. However, despite me saying ship them to my home address the person taking the order at the store pulled up an old PO Box I used to have at PakMail. For almost two weeks the package was lost inside the PakMail. The manager there is Michael and he signed for it so I know it was there but misplaced. I thought it could have been returned to sender also. So I called the New Balance store to tell them about the mixup. The store tried to make it right by ordering a second package of socks to be shipped from the Mall of GA store. It's going to be delivered to my house. Today I stopped by the PakMail to see if my package was found. It was at the bottom of a bin. I don't know why they couldn't find it last week. I just called the Alpharetta store to tell them the package was found and I wanted to pay for the second package. Mark answered and I tried to explain what happened and that I wanted to pay for the second package of socks. He must have been busy or in a bad mood or he didn't believe me. He curtly said enjoy the free socks. If it was a screw up on their part I shouldn't have to pay. It just doesn't feel right. I'm an honest person. Oh well, I go there at least once a year to buy shoes and socks.

She by-passed the system and got me my shoe right away. --Location/Parking-- Located in the shopping strip across from North Point Mall. Plenty of parking, next to a Georgia Spa. --Ambience-- Various shoe accessories and New Balance on display. You have so many to choose from, I was a bit overwhelmed, but Sharon helped me find the right shoe and even gave me style suggestions on when and what to wear. --Service/Staff-- I can't say enough about the staff for helping me out when the online order did not go through. I think if the employee did not help me. I would not have a pair of New Balance right now. --Products-- I'm so happy with my New Balance, there is a reason why they are trendy and stylish right now. --Capacity-- There were four people on staff, so they can help over 12 plus customers at a time. There was plenty of room to browse and look for footwear. --Overall-- Recommended to try and talk about footwear and styling on what type of New Balance would fit and work for you.

In general and in a word... pathetic! Very little selection of anything good, wild colors of what they did have, and not much in the way of matching sets. Really what they had was the cheap stuff or odds and ends. I really didn't want a suit case that wouldn't roll after a use or two... heck I already have 3 of those. When I arrived, I realized that all of the shoes online are not necessarily carried within the store. They did have one of the shoes I had selected. I was able to try it on and walk around the store. The shoes were very comfortable, and they had many sizes between 9 and 12 in stock. However, they did not appear to have many wide shoes in stock. So, I will ultimately make my purchase online, but it was nice to go into the store and try on one of my selections. All of the staff who interacted with me were friendly and courteous. I'll definitely consider returning if I need to try on a pair of shoes, but I'll probably continue to make my purchases online. UPDATE: I went home that night and tried to order my shoes online. The email coupon would not work. It said that the coupon had expired which was not the case. I then started a chat session on their website. I found out that the coupon would not work with the shoes that I was purchasing. Apparently, almost every brand they carry is excluded from the coupons that they email their customers (see below). I don't think that I'll be making another purchase at DSW anytime soon. After visiting this retail location a few times, it seems to me that their real expertise is in selling overpriced sweaters to city dwellers who want to look like Paul Bunyan but who would die from internet-withdrawal in the woods. Their clothing has a hefty pricetag and, in my opinion, doesn't hold up as well as other retailers' items. Why would I spent $140 on a half zip sweater to wear for any sort of outdoor activity? I'm not going camping in a $140 merino wool sweater - nor fishing - nor hunting - nor cutting wood...nor working in the yard...if you want to position yourself as an outdoors/outfitter then give me options that I can take seriously. I grew up outdoors. I still have a farm. I have to do things like clear brush regularly... Beyond the prices, I can't give this location any kudos for service. You can literally wander the whole store for 40 minutes without an associate ever greeting you.
