Mannnnn I wish I lived closer to this place. My girlfriend and sister wanted to grab pokeburri which is in the same building. But having not been in a while, the whole place renovated and their were some new shops. Thought I'd might as well check them out. And at the front of the door was this little stall with the nicest lady. She gave me a sample and right away I order a plate. Chef Amal is a Marrakech Miracle. This is the best food in EAV hands down and the probably the best value in Atlanta. She was cooking up meatballs today that were little spiced lumps of juicy goodness atop a bed of veggies and rice. We also sampled the Chicken Tanjiyah which was incredible: lemony and a perfect blend of heat (with her homemade hot sauce) and tang. A salad, nice portion of hummus with pita triangles, basmati rice, stew, and the tastiest baklawa (baklava) in all the land for $8!! This is the new lunch spot! read more

I could not believe how flavorful the chicken shwarma was. The bowl is so good, usually when I get a bowl there isn't enough meat the vegetables are lackluster. This had a great non-rice to rice ratio, there was plenty of delicious chicken, and the beets, green beans, and salad were all very welcome to my bowl. Like Amy said in the previous review, their food is awesome. Moroccan food taste like a mix of Ethiopian food and Indian food. If you like both of those cuisines, then you are in for a treat. Dang I really like the chicken and rice. I am not sure what the sauce was or what was all in it but I really enjoyed it. For $10 I got a good amount of rice with chicken/sauce. There is some lettuce with sauce and hummus with pita (that is the extra $2 dollars to make it the $10). Great value and was a lot of food for the money compared to other places. So my review may be late, but it's no less sincere! I think Marrakech Express is just that deserving. I first tried Marrakech Express when coordinating catering for a staff retreat for 24 members in August 2017. It was fantastic, authentic and precisely what was needed and appreciated by all during that lunch hour. I was so impressed by the taste, ease of delivery, quality and graciousness of chef Amal (and her business associate/delivery driver) that I vowed when I had an event of my own, I would call on Marrakech Express to cater it. That opportunity presented itself in February 2018. It was a last-minute, impromptu gathering for a smaller crowd of family (10+), and I wanted to treat them to something unique and unexpected. My cousin asked about the menu beforehand and later admitted she'd googled it to learn more about what to expect. Lol! I ordered the catering package with chicken tanjiya, veggie tagine, Mediterranean salad, saffron rice, hummus, pita and baklawa. My family can be a rough crowd when it comes to rating food, but everyone delighted in and was amazed by the fresh and delicious offerings. The next day, my aunt shared that my diabetic uncle's sugar count was right in the middle of where it belonged when tested afterwards. "Who knew?!" she said. Well, what I did know is that even though it may have been something new to my crowd, I couldn't go wrong with Marrakech Express! And now that I know about them being among the Global Grub Collective in We Suki Suki, I won't have to wait for a special event to enjoy their delicious fare. I stopped in this unassuming little restaurant collective in East Atlanta, next to We Suki Suki, and had one of the best meals I've had in Atlanta. A lovely woman named Amal, from Morocco, makes everything from scratch, including the pita, hummus, and baklava (baklawa). I also had a truly fabulous chicken and rice dish. There was so much, I took half home for dinner. Expect to eat from styrofoam with plastic at a picnic table, which is how all meals in the collective are eaten. Next to the people, the thing I always miss most about Morocco is the incredible food. Finding authentic Moroccan food in Atlanta didn't seem like a possibility until I found out that Marrakech Catering sells prepared foods at Avondale Estates Farmer's Market on Sundays. So far I've had their adass salad (lentils, chickpeas, tomatoes, onions, and parsley), hummus (smooth and with just the right amount of garlic, served with freshly baked semolina bread), and beef kefta (meatballs) served with saffron rice. Everything I've tried has been expertly spiced, which is the secret behind Moroccan cooking. They also sell wonderful desserts like baklava. Eating this food reminds me of being welcomed into a Moroccan family's home for a meal. I can't wait to keep trying new dishes. I should also note that they have lots of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, and those items are labeled as such, which is helpful if you're buying food for folks with those particular dietary needs. read more

This is some of the best Mediterranean food I've ever eaten. The meats are cooked to perfection. The flavors are rich and full. And for $6-8, you get a very hearty meal. The menu changes daily, but everything is delicious. Yesterday, I got a giant leg of lamb ($10). Other than the styrafoam container, this could be a $30 plate in an upscale black tablecloth dining room. Today I got an eggplant stew ($7) that is just delicious. The owner is a ray of sunshine. You can tell she puts a lot of love into her food. As a bonus, it's in the Grub Collective food hall with a handful of other excellent vendors, so if you go with friends, you can each choose different foods.
