Reminds me of Desi District a bit in cumming with their dosas. The veggie burgers are hands down the best I've ever tasted, bursting with flavor and perfectly spiced. Their dosas rival any I've had from top street vendors, with a coconut chutney and dal that are simply phenomenal. The puffed rice snack is wonderfully light and flavorful, and you must end your meal with their rice pudding--it's the perfect palate cleanser, delicately infused with cardamom and almond. I have always passed this restuarant en route to the Indian grocery store, but today I decided to give Chaska a try. I wanted to give my system a break from digesting meat and I wanted some highly seasoned veggies, so I was pleasantly surprised to discover this is a meat free vegetarian Indian dining experience where I could also get those spices I craved too. When I walked inside, it was an immediate WOW Factor based on the stylish and colorful decor. The entire ceiling is black with beautiful modern light fixtures. There were hues of vibrant pinks, fushias, greens, and gold everywhere. I was greeted warmly and quickly seated. I asked for water but I was offered the type of water I desired based on temperature: cold, room temperature etc. Now that was a wow because it was the first time ever I have been asked that question. I ordered the month's special and I eagerly awaited my order. I was surprised that a few minutes after I placed my order, a little robot rolled out with my food. The restaurant host asked me if I knew how to eat the food. At first I was surprised because I did not think I needed a lesson, but after I had no idea what I ordered, I was grateful that I had the tutorial because I not only needed to know how to make make the tray more delectable, but also I probably would have not enjoyed it as much on my own. The lentils were the star of the show, but all of it was delicious and by the time I stood up from the table I was extremely full and satisfied. We just figured out that our favorite Indian restaurant rebranded and opened a new location next-door! We had the best time and enjoyed the best food. We got the Malai Kofta (which was amazing) and the Chaska Paneer, which was so rich and flavorful. The Malai Kofta was slightly spicy and perfectly smooth. We also got the Samosa plate to start off which had the most crispy pastry. The ambiance is so relaxing with beautiful florals and a pink and green theme, and expert decor. This place is great for some Indian food, especially for vegetarian lovers. Don't be fooled by the exterior. This place is in a strip mall. We tried the Amritsari Kulcha and Chole, which was amazing. The kulcha was though soaked in butter, but worth it. The Chole was delicious and the onions and pickle were an amazing added touch. We also tried the Aloo Tikki Burger which was decent. Lastly, we also had the paneer bell pepper and onion mix, which was ok. I would love to try their Rajasthani thali someday. I would go back to try their other dishes as well. Surprisingly, it was pretty empty (a little scary), but I'm glad we stayed. They seemed to have a decent carry out business going. I hope their evening crowd is better. They have daily (Tu-Fri) Thali lunch special, and we each ordered that. I only eat Indian food occasionally, but I found it delicious and very reasonably priced. Went to this restaurant as a last resort since it was Diwali and close to 3 pm. Needless to say, the food was decent and service was great. The interior is nice and cozy. Came here one evening because it's close-by, and we wanted Indian food. We were not disappointed, and my fiancée uses words like "incredible" and "delightful" to describe our experience. I agree. The dining room was elegantly decorated, and not very busy on a Tuesday evening. We spent several minutes digesting the menu, as it is quite different than what we are used to. No chicken tikka masala or vindaloo. No meat, no worries. For appetizer, we got the Paneer Butterfly. Entrées: She had the Mumbai Masala Magic Burger w/ fries and Maggi ketchup, I had the Mushroom Masala - I ordered it hot, but our server later noted she brought me medium which was the perfect amount of spice ;), and we shared a basket of garlic Naan. We're not vegetarian and fairly unfamiliar with Indian cuisine. We asked for 3 appetizers that would represent different foods. Tandoori Paneer Tikka, Malai soya Chaap, and Veg Hara Bhara Kabab. All very different from what we typically eat. All three were delicious. When I remarked that there was a bit of heat on the Paneer Tikka, the waitress brought us a small cup of Mango. We did takeout so no comment on service or ambiance. The food is average at best. The spice ratios feel off in all of their food - we ordered chole, paneer, malai kofta and everything just felt off. Even the baturas texture was off. When I say ratio I don't mean spice level as in spicy. The ratio and blend of trad Indian spices like garam masala, cumin, curry powders in their dishes was off resulting in the flavors of the dishes to just be ok. read more

Indian food is one of my favorite kinds of food out there so when I saw that there was a new Indian restaurant called Chaska I decided to order my favorite dish, Thali. The waiter served me the dish with a nontraditional display in a plastic tray that looked like a tray for five-year-old kindergarten kids served in a gourmet style. The amount of food is about two-soup spoons per tray square and they think that this is supposed to serve an adult. My greatest disappointment is when I asked for a refill for two of the side dishes but then the manager refused to do so saying that it wasn't "the policy of the house" which is absolutely unacceptable because in all the traditional Indian restaurants that I have been to it's part of the restaurant custom to provide refills for thali dishes to customers. In conclusion, the management is not interested in satisfying the customers who come to enjoy a nice lunch or dinner. Chaska is a restaurant that does not serve from the heart and that is a true tragedy because the cuisine itself is delicious. What a shame - very disappointing. The dish cost me $18 plus a $4 tip which is $22 in total. read more

I ate lunch at Chaska on my way back to Chattanooga from Atlanta airport. I wasn't expecting much but I was surprised to see an Indian restaurant with good ambiance. I ordered vegetable uttapam which was not bad. I wasn't impressed with Sambhar or the coconut chutney. The size of uttapam was small compared to other restaurant's in Atlanta area with similar price. Chaska has hands down the best Dahi Puri in the area. I've tried some of their other dishes and love them. This place is definitely worth trying! I know I'm hooked.
