Inside of the vegetable samosa
Marilyn B.

Turmeric is a great choice if you're looking for delicious Indian food. Our group enjoyed the complimentary papadum with chutneys. We ordered the garlic naan and the vegetable samosas, pastry stuffed with potatoes and peas. These definitely have a kick. For our main dishes, I ordered the chicken coconut curry with basmati rice. Thankfully you get the option of spice level. I enjoy Indian cuisine but prefer the less spicy options. Overall the coconut curry was flavorful and the chicken was tender and juicy. My husband ordered the lamb Korma with medium spice and was very happy with it.

If you're in the mood for a fantastic dining experience, Turmeric is definitely worth a visit. They offer halal options, but do note that only the chicken and goat dishes are halal. My husband and I, joined by his parents, came to celebrate his mother's birthday, and we made sure to indulge in as many dishes as we could. For appetizers, we started with a shared platter of mixed vegetable pakora and chicken chili momo. Both were a hit! The pakora was crispy and perfectly spiced, while the chicken chili momo was an absolute standout. The aroma of the chili momo was so intoxicating that it filled the entire restaurant. My father-in-law also ordered the chicken corn soup, which was savory and satisfying, and everyone who tried it agreed that it was fantastic. For the main course, my mother-in-law opted for the Tandoori chicken, fish, and shrimp with basmati rice. When the dish arrived, it sizzled on the plate and the presentation was just as impressive as the flavor. Each component was cooked to perfection, and the spices were balanced beautifully. My father-in-law thoroughly enjoyed his goat biryani. The richness of the goat meat and the depth of the spices made it a dish he'll surely order again. My husband had the chicken biryani, which tasted wonderful, but he was a little disappointed with the spice level. It wasn't as fiery as he expected, but the overall flavor was still spot on. As for me, I had the chicken makhani (butter chicken), which was comforting and flavorful. The dish was slightly sweeter than what I typically enjoy, but the taste was still delicious, and the sauce was rich and creamy. We all shared garlic naan and masala paratha to complement our meals--both were soft, warm, and paired wonderfully with our curries. For dessert, we couldn't resist the classic gulab jamun. These little syrup-soaked treats were the perfect end to our meal--sweet, soft, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Aside from the amazing food, the atmosphere was clean and welcoming. The service was impeccable, with drinks being refilled promptly and plates cleared as needed. It felt like the kind of attentive service you'd expect at a fine dining restaurant, and it certainly made our celebration feel special. We left Turmeric full, satisfied, and looking forward to our next visit. This restaurant has definitely earned a spot on our list of go-to spots. Food- 6/5 (that's not a typo!) Service- 5/5 Ambiance- 5/5

We went back again! Couldn't say enough good things about this place! You gotta go try it!

Chicken Curry mango Lassi

Excellent Meal! My husband and I are still sitting in this restaurant blown away by the food we just ate. Everything tasted fresh and the portions are so large. Perfect for takeaway for lunch the next day. Don't hesitate to order an appetizer, or two. And you will regret it if you don't snag a mango lassi. Everything we had to eat developed into a beautiful symphony of flavors. The service was prompt and professional. I don't think my water went under halfway full the whole time. The restaurant itself is clean and light airy music plays while large windows open to a picturesque view of the trees around the building. While we are not from the area, we will most certainly keep this restaurant in mind as we travel.

If you want good Indian food, go out of your way to come to Turmeric! My husband and I are food snobs, and we were both delighted! The best choice we made was to order the dinner for two at a total cost of $40. Honestly, it was enough food for 3-4 people with big appetites. All of the food was great, but I especially enjoyed the tandoori chicken kabobs, the garlic naan, and both the turmeric chicken and the vegetable curry. So flavorful! For $40 you share an appetizer, bread, and dessert, and you get your own soup and entree. It's not like a prix fixe menu because you get so many choices: which naan, which soup, which curry, which dessert. Oh my word! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! This restaurant used to be a Wendy's, but it's had a makeover for sure. The ambiance was sort of basic, and the music was unnecessarily loud, but we didn't even care. The food was the star. It may be that the all the servers wait on all the tables; I just know that someone was always available and helpful, and our drinks were always full. I'm so happy to find excellent Indian food local to me, and I'll be bringing all of my friends and visiting guests!

Dal tadka & mushroom spinach
Rohit R.

Small and busy restaurant. We ordered traditional Indian veg food i.e. dal tadka and mushroom spinach. What really stood out was home cooked touch to the food with just the right amount of spice. Quality is well above average. I'm usually very severe on Indian food restaurants, but this is one of the better ones in around Atlanta.

Pani Puri

This place is fantastic! They have a menu that features all of the classic dishes plus many many more. I was blown away by the options. They have an extensive vegetarian selection as well. We ordered three apps and entrees. I also ordered a dish to go. The sauces were perfectly spiced. The food came out quickly with the best service. I really enjoyed the green mint sauce. It had a little kick. The pani puri was pretty good. I wish the sauce had more spice! They were crispy and loaded with filling. I would order those again. My lunch special ordered large was a FEAST! It was a mountain of food that I throughly enjoyed. I ordered mine medium spicy. It had an ok heat to it. I enjoyed all of it but my paneer was my favorite. The lentils on the side were also cooked perfectly. It came with a small serving of kheer. I liked that it didn't have raisins like many other places. The service was top notch throughout the meal. I would definitely recommend it here! The price is fair for what you get

An Indian culinary delight! We came here on a whim Saturday afternoon and so glad we did. The food was amazing! I usually don't like the green mint sauce or the raita but here...I loved them! I tried the Chicken Pakora, Vegetable Samosa, Pani Puri, Chicken Tikka Masala Bhiryani, Bullet Garlic Naan, and Gulabjaman. The Chicken Pakora was like the best Indian chicken nugget you could have. The meat was juicy and seasoned as was the breading. The Vegetable Samosa was packed full of filling and perfectly fried. The Pani Puri was just ok (I don't know how they should be, so the could be absolutely amazing but they just weren't amazing to me and don't call me back to them). The Bullet Garlic Naan was packed with flavor and paired so well with their raita. The Gulabjaman was great and was a lovely dessert. The Chicken Tikka Masala Bhiryani was amazing. Let's start with the portion size. It was large enough for two to eat all they wanted and still take more than half home! It was a large serving! But its sheer bigness isn't all. It was SO DELICIOUS! The chicken was flavored and juicy, the rice fluffy...it was everything it needed to be plus more. The service was also pleasant and very accommodating. I'm so ecstatic you have found this restaurant and can't wait to try other dishes.

It sure smells good when you walk in. I had high expectations. If you have no affinity for Indian food, you'd likely enjoy your meal. I was under-whelmed. Condiments, pungent and tasty. Papadum light and crisp. Deviating from our usual, we ordered mixed appetizers, in essence a plate of fried indistinguishable wee-wees. You're best served getting samosas. They're pretty good. In placing my order, I indicated my expectations for chicken tikka kabob: succulent and well-marinated. The chicken arrived in small chunks -- already a tip-off -- with the undersides burnt, minimal flavor, and dry. Nope! T, who generally orders lamb vindaloo, compared his to an excellent takeout place in my neighborhood. The vindaloo at Tumeric wasn't as good, but the sauce, which I tried, was okay. Basmati rice tasted like Uncle Ben's. Wouldn't necessarily know that it's basmati. A gentleman -- likely the owner -- stopped at our table. "That looks delicious!" he said. I nicely told him where my dish fell short. He smiled and walked away. With a growing number of Indian restaurants in the area, it behooves proprietors to step up their game to stay competitive. Our server -- a really nice fellow -- indicated that things will be better when we return. I felt badly telling him that for me, it's a one-shot deal.

They have a lot of options on the menu and many may be wonderful. The dining room is well decorated and bright. Our waiter was nice. Water stayed full. The fresh naan was delicious!!! The buffet was small, limited. There was dal, butter chicken, samosas, etc. I think maybe we just hit them on an off day? The rice was nearly empty and very dried out. They were out of goat curry when we went to the table but the waiter kindly offered to go ask the kitchen for more. I did not try it but my husband enjoyed it. There was a bin with a little lettuce and some tomato slices labeled salad. Some pappadum and some tamarind chutney. Meh. Should we go back perhaps I will try the bhel puri. For what it is, the buffet seemed expensive. They also offer a thali plate for lunch. I saw some people eating this and it looked good. I forgot to take pictures.

I did ask for "Indian spicy" and didn't really find it that spicy though. I had plenty leftover the next day! My mom got a dal and I thought it was excellent! Would definitely come here again and try some different dishes. The inside is really modern and clean looking. I will say one thing, the service was extremely slow, but to be fair, it was the day after Christmas so maybe they were a bit short staffed?

We've also started noticing a decline in the food quality; little things they do to cut corners such as extra breading on anything that has breading (like gobi manchurian, chicken lollipops, etc.). All the chicken chunks in their main dishes (chicken tikka masala, chicken biryani, chicken home style curry, etc.) are all cooked until they're hard as rocks and tough as a rubber band ball--basically inedible. The tandoori chicken lying around is fairly dry, with the exception of the drumsticks, but they're all cool/lukewarm. There's also significantly less customers than there used to be, with a Saturday prime lunch time basically crickets and flies--we saw 2 tables in the hour we were there and it was empty when we got there). It's on the lower end of a 3 star now, but I'll give it the 3 due to the flavorful sauces (minus the completely bland home style curry) and the desserts are still pretty good. I hope they stop cutting corners and focus more on food quality, but I think this is our last visit here. We eventually settled on the Aloo Gobi, Coconut Fish Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala, and an order of the Garlic Naan. I thought the Aloo Gobi and Coconut Fish Curry tasted great. They were very flavorful and portions were plenty. I was a little disappointed at the Chicken Tikka Masala as it didn't quite taste the way I was expecting. This is usually my go-to dish, so I've had it many times in the past. The service was good. We were checked on often and everyone was very friendly.
