    Tikka Masala.
    Linda M.

I had high hopes for the new owners as I have loved the food in the past although the restaurant needed a face lift. I ordered Lamb Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer for carryout. I was very clear that we wanted it mild. Both dishes were extremely hot. I called but they wanted us to drive back over so they could correct the mistake. We did not want to so the next day I took the food back. What I was given was fairly mild but considering the look of both dishes I think that a large amount of cream was added to the food I returned to reduce the spice level. As you can seen the Tikka Masala doesn't have a tomato sauce but a cream sauce. Very disappointed.

The lamb curry thali is available at lunch! Fresh and delicious!!

From filling water glasses to clearing used plates to checking in us- various employees interacted with us with grace and professionalism. My two dear friends and I arrived at 12:30 and we were one of two tables occupied and the , 15 minutes later, the restaurant began to fill. The menu is tidy and to the point. Most dishes can be made with tofu, chicken, beef, shrimp or lamb. We jumped on some appetizers to start and they were all winners. Of the three-Chicken 65, garlic naan with roti sauce, and Paneer Pakora- I don't know that I could pick a favorite. They were tasty, freshly prepared and wonderfully presented. I chose chicken tikki masala as my entree and it was a home run. The boneless chicken was floating in a spicy tomato based sauce with a slight swirl of cream. I wanted a straw for every last drop. There were a couple of times during the meal when I got wonderful whiffs of the meat and other items being cooked. The charred, fired smell was enchanting. The place is located on the end a small strip of stores. There was plenty of parking. (I don't think I noticed what the other store fronts did next door). I have tried a couple of Indian restaurants in the greater East Cobb area and I will share this is at the top of my list. I loved it!

What really stands out is the inclusion of raita and achar. That extra touch brings back fond memories of family home-cooked biryani and makes the experience feel complete. One small suggestion would be to consider using to-go boxes with an aluminum liner or another healthier packaging option for takeout orders, as the food really deserves packaging that preserves its quality. Overall, this is authentic, comforting food done right. Highly recommended for anyone looking for real biryani.

First of all the flavors in every dish we chose knocked our socks off! We chose a medium level of heat and decided on a variety of dishes to try to get a full experience. We HEARD the Tandoori Mixed grill come out, then the aromas hit us. BEAUTIFULLY prepared! There was a wide variety of meats, chicken, lamb, fish, paneer, shrimp. Sizzling on a cast iron platter with aromatics mixed in. This dish was perfectly seasoned. The chicken was my favorite! The Chicken Korma was next. This has to be one of my favorite Indian dishes ever. The chicken is almost secondary to the sauce as I tend to dip naan the whole time I'm eating it. The chicken however was very tender and the flavors were incredible! We had two different kinds of Naan to sop all of the sauces up! Such an incredible variety! We had outstanding service and there were several servers making sure our drinks stayed full and our plates were cleared. The restaurant is an old Wendy's, not too fancy inside but clean, and the area is not the greatest, but don't sleep on this restaurant!! They seriously know what they are doing and we plan to make this our spot for this type of Indian cuisine. Oh and I watched my first Cricket match! That's a cool sport! There were a couple of TVs on around the restaurant with sports. Definitely try this place!

Hidden behind the Corner Grocery store at the less assuming end of Canton Street, you might think it's a front for an organized crime unit that's expanded its operations from Queens and into north Atlanta. Alas, the inside is exactly what you might expect given the outside - the walls are each painted a different color - a color that you'd be hard pressed to find at Home Depot. The ceiling is mustard yellow, the kitchens Christmas green, and one wall of a small boy's bedroom pale blue. And yes, stuffed in this small space of ambiance is four TVs coupled with three gambling arcade games. The front kitchen resembles the makeup of a hot dog shop, though it's all they need. There's an outside patio that's decorated quite nicely for warmer days. Overall, the interior is what you want out of a real South Indian restaurant. You know the food will be good. You'll expect nothing less. The cuisine itself is quite vast for this little shop. A full half page itself dedicated to specialty dosas. Entrees that are common and others you may have only heard on Tony's episode to Hyderabad. It's as legit as you can find in north Georgia, perhaps anywhere in the south for that matter. The faces behind the counter are friendly and they're quick to recommend their favorites. Overall, it's a culinary experience that hinges on the senses of taste and smell and comfort that sometimes gets lost in a north Atlanta sea of overpriced menus with subpar American tacos. The next time I'm hungover, this is my spot.

Upon entering the restaurant there was no welcome, but rather a look of irritation by the guy behind the counter. I ordered carry away, so took the order and scooted. The ambiance was fine, nothing special. The service was poor. Several Indian restaurants I've visited seem to have an "everyone is your server" policy, which definitively means that no one is your server. Every phase took forever, but at least everything seemed fairly made to order. It was hot and fresh and pretty, if the taste lacked a bit to be desired. They were somewhat non-committal when I asked about gluten-free. The menu has gluten-free symbols in the key, but not one item was labeled with that symbol. They said that just about everything is gluten free, and they offered me a roti that they said was "whole wheat," thus gluten free. What?!?! The prices weren't awful and portions were fairly nice, but there are just much better Indian places in the area, so I don't imagine we'll be back. Oh, and both of our stomachs were pretty messed up later. Hmmm....

The menu is focused on regional cuisine, fresh ingredients, authentic recipes, and the needs of their local customer base. Kay (the owner) told us quite about about her focus on Northern Indian cuisine, which is less hot, so this is a great place for beginners - especially on Saturday or Sunday when there's a buffet with a good variety of items and good quality. Their staff is well-trained and friendly. The gentleman who was working on Saturday took plenty of time to explain dishes on the buffet and was obviously well-aware of how the food was made. I can't eat dairy, and a lot of Indian dishes have cream, yogurt, or butter, but they had 3 dairy-free dishes on the buffet! I would have been totally happy with that, but he also brought me special vegan sweets because the gulab jamun on the buffet had dairy. We will definitely be back - I can't remember the last time I ate Indian food at a restaurant and felt great afterwards, so I'm really happy to have this local gem and want to see them succeed!
