4. Lamb Tanjiya
Jeanelle W.

My god parents were in the mood for Mediterranean food because they wanted something light to eat given their recent doctor visit. So I found Marrakech on Yelp. Parking was super easy. It's in a plaza near Belmont villages I believe. I was immediately greeted when I opened the door. I wasn't sure on what to order so I asked for their suggestions and they recommended chicken shawarma, lamb tanjiya, chicken shawarma bowl, and chicken tanjiya. I ordered all four items! The hot sauce was on the side and I also think it came with some sort of bread. Needless to say, I had their lamb tanjiya and it was phenomenal! I wanted to save some for leftovers but I ended up devouring the entire meal! My god parents and sister raved about their meals also! The restaurant is very chill. A nice spot for a quick bite to eat if you're in the area or in the mood for top notch Mediterranean cuisine. So I will be back!

I'm glad I finally had a chance to eat here. I dined during lunch but it wasn't too busy. It was clean inside and so was the bathroom. I ate in, and it took about 5-6 minutes for my food to come out. I had the chicken shawarma bowl with green beans. The chicken was seasoned well and wasn't dry. The sauce on top went well with the dish and I enjoyed the pita and hummus. I've never had green beans cooked that way but they were good. I also had a specialty tea, which I can't remember the name but it was good. I hope this gem stays in Smyrna.

Fun for the whole family. We loved this place! Even our baby, who enjoyed chewing on her first pita! The service was so nice and helpful, and they let us sample the chickens before ordering so we could decide which one we wanted. The chicken tanjiya had a wonderful fresh lemon flavor, and the chicken shawarma was equally delicious. I loved the variety of veggies and hummus that came with the shawarma bowl. A feast of flavors. The food was ready quickly (it's fast casual), and I was shocked it wasn't packed on a weekend afternoon. We can't wait to go back and try more. I thought it was a good amount of food for the value.

Baklawa

Dining at Marrakesh Express was a last minute decision, but I'm very happy I went! The highlight of this visit was the service, we had the owner take our order and prepare the meal and she was excellent. When my girlfriend and I were unsure of what we wanted to eat she immediately offered us samples of a few dishes which were very tasty. She was such a nice person to interact and discuss the menu with and it really made the visit. On top of that the food was also delicious, we had the chicken shawarma plate, falafel sandwich, and baklawa, and all were really tasty. My favorite was the falafel sandwich as it was something I wasn't sure about at first but I really enjoyed. I wish I had heard about Marrakesh sooner and I can't wait to come back!

After running errands Saturday morning, stopped by for lunch. I'd read great things about this spot since it took over this location. There was no one inside, a party eating on the patio and one person working. The employee greeted me and advised to give them a few minutes as I looked over the menu. There's a variety of plates, bowls, sandwiches, salads desserts and sides. Mostly vegetarian but they sell chicken and lamb too. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma bowl with everything. While I waited there was a tray of baklava sitting on the display case. I asked if it was coming out or going back in. He never replied but it sat uncovered the entire time. Overall the location is cozy, clean and food was great quality. The flavors weren't that outstanding - more Morrocan than Mediterranean flavor. Some veggies in the bowl seemed overcooked. I'd return to try other things and hope they last in Smyrna!

Baba Ghanoush--last time I had this was in Turkey. This is BETTER!!

Dear Smyrna Family, Marrakech Express is open and excited for our business! Just visited yesterday evening (1/13/26)--and WHAT A FIND!! First, the restaurant is clean as a whistle!! Everything sparkles and there's a cool patio for outdoor dining. weather permitting (See pics). Got to speak with the owner/chef, and SHE IS AMAZING! She has successfully run a catering business for the past 20 years, has a busy restaurant in Midtown, and has blessed Smyrna with her talent for delectable Moroccan/Mediterranean cuisine using her own recipes passed down through her family for generations! We ordered the chicken shawarma bowl, a falafel sandwich, and a side of baba ghanoush. HEAVEN!! The food is melt-in-your-mouth scrumptious with distinctive flavors and ample servings. The bowls give an opportunity to explore a variety delicious "sides" all in one bowl. And the price is totally reasonable for what you get!! Marrakech Express is not just a place to eat--it's a delightful culinary experience you and your friends and family MUST check out!! I have already set another friend gathering to visit again next week!! I'm so glad this place chose SMYRNA!! Let's show Marrakech Express some love!! Check out my pics!!

Very tasty. Cute inside. Lovely owner. Had the falafel bowl. Very filling. Lots of flavor.

Chicken plate #3

I ordered plate #3 with chicken and my husband ordered plate #4 with lamb. The portions were an excellent size and plates well. My chicken was tasty and seasoned well but the biggest thing I can say about the chicken was it was moist and fell apart easily. It wasn't dry or overcooked and I wanted to finish my entire plate, even though I was very full. My husband's lamb came in a bone but was so fall off the bone, literally, and it was delicious. I would go back for this dish but based on the two dishes I really can't wait to try more of the menu.

It's a cute little restaurant serving Moroccan /middle Eastern food. The place is clean and simply done with nice outside patio. The chicken shawarma was cooked well and delicious. It almost feels like home cooked. I also ordered a vegetarian platter with extra side of harissa. This was great too. The server was friendly and welcoming.

Lamb shank

From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly and the restaurant was very clean. There was plenty of seating options inside as well as an outdoor patio. I had the chicken shawarma bowl and my husband had the chicken Taniya. Both dishes were beautifully presented, they were incredibly flavorful and there is enough food for a couple of meals. We will absolutely be coming back! What a wonderful addition to our Smyrna community. Well done!

When walking in, you are immediately welcomed by the lovely staff and a very clean establishment. The ambiance is warm, welcoming and an overall great place to dine in and take your time with enjoying the delicious food. I ordered the Falafel sandwich and the Chicken Shawarma bowl. BOTH were extremely flavorful! I could taste every single ingredient in both plates. The sandwich was refreshing, light and filling. The shawarma bowl was BEAUTIFULLY assembled, the chicken was tender, the green beans was my FAVORITE (which I did not expect), the hummus was sooo creamy and perfect with the naan. And if you like hot , GET THE HARISSA ! That Moroccan hot spice is jam packed with goodness. Thank you Marrakech! This is my new Mediterranean go to spot!

Don't leave Atlanta without trying this place. Overall - 5/5 Food - 5/5 Adana Kebab - 5/5 - this was the first time I had something like this. It was honestly delicious and really stood out. Sooo good, juicy, and flavourful. Labneh - 4.2/5 - Really liked this: it's like a whipped yogurt. The dill one was nice too and probably ordered that one a bit. Bandia Olivieh - 4/5 - this is another type of dip ish dish... really good but I liked the labneh more I'd say. Chicken Kofta - 4.2/5 - so flavourful and tasty. As a chicken lover, this was my next favourite after the Adana. So good. Service - 5/5 - We came here back in July (catching up on reviews). Our server, Max, was so great. Very positive, happy, and just an awesome server overall. Truly one of the best service I've ever had. Ambiance - 5/5 - Very busy, but a beautiful ambiance. It's one of the last NOT crazy, pressuring, loud, scammy, apathetic small spots I've been to. I never hesitate to want to eat here. The interior is very mom and pop with soft lighting and old ceiling tiles but well maintained with an obvious attention to detail and care. There is limited seating inside; you've got long padded benches set in the walls and small tables. They seem ideal for parties of 4 or take-out. You can squeeze maybe one bigger party inside if you really want. I snagged a lamb sandwich on recommendation; it comed your choice of a chopped salad, cup of soup, or rice. I ended up going with the soup of the day which is a curry chickpea. The lamb sandwich was a definite winner. There's a lot of care and that same attention to detail to constructing it. There was a 15ish minute wait but perfectly acceptable since it all came out fresh. The lamb slices were super juicy and flavorful and the sauce added that extra spicy but not too spicy kick that went well with the softness of the pita and the crunch of the fresh lettuce. The soup was piping hot so I had to wait a few minutes to let it cool but flavorful and smooth. I'd gotten it as a potential dip but the sandwich did'nt need it so I'd probably go with the chopped salad next time. Overall, Cafe Sababa does a lot of what I enjoy in Mediterranean. I'd definitely stop in again and try out more items on their menu if I was in the area. A very good first impression.

We came here for brunch on a Sunday and had no issues getting a reservation the day of. That said…read morethe place was pretty full and there is a large patio area outside. We were seated inside right by where they plate the food so we got to see what some of the dishes looked like before ordering. We started with the cinnamon roll and it was huge! The equivalent to 3 huge individual cinnamon rolls, but stuck together to make a big one. It was really good too with a warm and soft middle and slightly crunchier outside rim. For my entree, I had the chicken chilaquiles. It was an incredible mixture with the egg on top and the spiciness level was perfect! The creme fraiche really up-leveled the dish. As for the service, decor, and ambiance, it was top notch. The ceilings are high and the interior is nicely furnished. The bar area has flowers over top and great for Instagram. Our server was knowledgable about the menu, kept our drinks full, and was patient with us. I'd love to come back for dinner as that menu looks great as well.

We were seated at 600, told the hostess and servers we need to be done by 715 at the latest. Everyone said no problem. Apparently that wasn't true. Service was incredibly slow from beginning to end. The food ranged from good (crab dip, grilled shrimp on the salads) and charcuterie board (which arrived at 720 so we barely got a nibble.) Both pasta dishes were completely overcooked and bland. Salads swimming in dressing and slightly limp. Drinks were slow. All of this and no one - not a server, not a manager - ever apologized or offered to make anything right. We are 4 easy-going adults, low maintenance and not hard to make happy when we dine out. This experience was unacceptable by any standard. Each couple ended up paying $122 bucks each for food that we could not eat - either because it wasn't edible or it arrived far too late. (just a note here to say we all ordered light - no multiple courses, no complicated dishes.) Pros: Patio seating is nice. Staff was pleasant even if service was not. I can't see us ever returning.

Ate here for my birthday in Spring 2026…read more The service was REALLY good. Our drinks were never empty, but they were not intrusive. Super warm and nice, but also don't take over your time. The perfect balance. The food - just incredible. We all got something different and I got to taste each one. The Chicken Barg Kabob was everyone's favorite. The Chicken kabob is VERY close though. I got the Soltani which was also amazing. The thing to do though is sub out the Zereshk Polo rice. You won't regret it. I got a little adventurous and ordered the Torshi - pickled vegetables. I'm not really into vegetables and I was a little worried when it showed up and didn't look very appealing to me - but it was SO good. Loved it. The staff were seemingly entertained that I liked it - apparently it's only Persian people that are into it, and they kind of laughed when I wanted to take the leftovers with me. My son liked it too though! And he's picky. We were getting ready to go when suddenly they brought an ice cream and wished me happy birthday. I think they heard my son wish me a happy birthday at dinner. Just really paying attention to detail. So this bright yellow Persian ice cream shows up. I've never had it. It is really different - like a cross between dinner and desert flavors. That doesn't sound good but trust me it's great. Again, my picky son loved it! It's got a saffron-pistachio-rose thing going on that actually really works! Much of this is probably very familiar to those who have enjoyed Persian food before. For our family it was a new and wonderful experience. I love this restaurant and DEFINITELY want to come back for Father's day. This is going to be my new special occasion spot.
