Came here to celebrate my friend's birthday during Houston Restaurant Weeks. After a bit of a hiccup, they gave us the menus for Houston Restaurant Weeks. At first, they were not sure if they were honoring it on a Monday even though I called to confirm and also stated that in my Open Table reservation. We both ordered the same meal. Tuscan Fried Chicken and Gulf Red Snapper. Loved the Tuscan Fried Chicken. Chicken served with artichokes, lemon and a side of the most delicious garlic aioli for dipping. This one is also on the Happy Hour menu. Gulf Red Snapper was good. It was advertised as being served with fava beans, leeks, and dried heirloom cherry tomatoes with a lemon-butter fish brodo. I think that they may not have planned for this menu item on the day that we came because it was more like a Gulf Red Snapper topped with chopped veggies in the lemon-butter fish broth. We asked for bread and cheese and refills on our water, but neither happened. They also offered a birthday treat which also never came. I think that they were thrown off by the confusion about the Houston Restaurant Weeks menu. Lucky to find street parking near Postino. Valet and garage parking are also available. A good meal, but a surprised by the confusion regarding the menu and spotty service during the meal.
Hands down one of my favorite happy hours & overall Italian restaurants in Houston. Their happy hour menu is reasonably priced and is a great way to try a small portions of their different entrees. Everything is pretty much under $10. The ambiance of this place is amazing whether you are dining at the bar, inside seating area or outdoors. They even offer a closed off area for private dinners/meetings. They also host a live pianist occasionally which adds to the ambiance. Lastly, the customer service is superior. The servers do a great job of frequently checking in and stopping by for a "last call" before happy hour ends.
Attended a birthday dinner for my cousin at Marmo during Houston Restaurant Week and was thoroughly pleased with the entree I selected. When I say the price and portion were one to experience believe me! I chose the redfish entree with the dessert option can't remember what I got but we aren't here for that. The fish was superb!!! My cousins and I were able to enjoy even with some leftover. Couldn't have been more pleased.
I stand by my original review. The food is very middle ground in my opinion. Nothing is particularly bad, but nothing is that amazing either. A solid food experience, but it's more about the atmosphere and service. Great staff and amazing sophisticated fun vibe. I love love love the live piano music! Ps. Parking is mainly valet/paid. Street parking is hard to find at night
In the heart of Montrose area, this beautiful restaurant has an outstanding Italian cuisine. If you come, make sure you make a reservation, they have a Valet that if you come to this restaurant is free. These beautiful western has outdoor seating, bar area, and main dining room, beautifully decorated, elegant, and classy, perfect for those special occasions. We came to celebrate my friend's birthday, and we got wonderful service, our server was attentive and gave us beautiful recommendations for the food. Food 10 out of 10, server service 9 out of 10, Drinks 10 out of 10, host 5 out of 10. Two things I didn't like about this place, they are not allowed you to bring balloons for a birthday celebration, and your party cannot be seated unless half of the party is already here. And they charge you to cut the cake, if you bring your own cake they're gonna charge you about four dollar cake slices I think it's a little too much Other than that, we had a great time
PARKING: It's cheaper to use valet than to park in the garage. If you use the public parking garage, you are charged the duration of your stay. If you valet, it's complimentary (just tip). Also, if you have a large vehicle, it's harder to find a spot in the public garage because the spaces are tiny. Service is great. Everyone is friendly from start to finish. On the last two occasions during a holiday (i.e., Mother's Day) someone came around with complimentary cookies or bread/cheese. Atmosphere is pleasant. We went during an occasion, such as Mother's Day, and they had live piano music in the back which was nice. Plenty of windows for natural sunlight where we sat. The menu is interesting the first time but unfortunately felt dull the second time around. It'll be great to see more seasonal items new things on the menu. Overall though, the food is good - I recommend trying.
My first visit to Marmo during Houston Restaurant Weeks was exceptional. The restaurant's warm, energetic atmosphere--filled with families and even a bridal party--set the tone for a memorable evening. Our appetizers, the bruschetta and the chicken and beet salad, were beautifully prepared. The Gulf red snapper entrée was outstanding: fresh, delicate, and served in a creamy broth accented with sun‑dried tomatoes. Dessert was equally impressive, with both the carrot cake and tiramisu offering a perfect finish. With excellent service and thoughtfully crafted dishes, Marmo has earned a spot on my list of places to return to.
Great happy hour location any day, they only seat in the covered patio or bar area so it is limited. The service and dining experience was great, informative and friendly server. The food came out fairly fast, we did however have an issue with the lamb chops, they were overly cooked and we requested for medium. The server gladly had our dish replaced, and it was much better. Very tender and juicy! The other happy hour items were as to be expected, just sub par. The highlight was the meat balls and the beet carpaccio, they were delicious and tasty. Definitely a unique dish!
This place used to be really really good, but I find it pretty underwhelming now. Not a huge fan of the dishes I've tried there these days like the gnocchi and the steak. Steak was kind of overstated, and the gnocchi felt kind of sticky with little flavor profile. The service is kind of slow, but the waiters have always been really nice. The ambiance is what really saves this place because it's in a really nice area, and I love how it feels inside. I know people like the happy hour, but I don't know it felt pretty underwhelming to me.
***Beets Capaccio A very Innovative way to eat a salad. Underneath the delicate layer of beets is actually a green salad mixed tossed with chunks of golden beets! The dressing was of a light vinaigrette. The toasted walnuts added a nice crunch and much appreciated rich texture to the salad. *** Tuscan Fried Chicken Kind of a let down, disappointment. The newspaper decorative element was interesting but the chicken itself felt very underwhelming. Too thick of batter. Serving size was not favorable. ***Lamb chop Initially the lamb was well done. I had to send it back for it to be cooked to medium ring. Flavor-wise was excellent. Although I would not order a chop of this size again. This is mainly just for taste testing. ***Polpette Classic two meatballs with a slice of bread. Nothing remarkable at all. ***Veal Bolognese Honestly couldn't tell the difference if this was ground beef had the menu not set otherwise. But there was very little bits of meat mixed with the pasta. ***White Fish Rillettes Very much reminded me of eating canned tuna with toasted lays. The only thing that elevated this dish was the caviar and even then, it wasn't that amazing. Flavor was kind of lackluster, felt like it came from a can. ***Raw Oysters This was arguably my favorite item off the menu for this instance. That was yours tasted very fresh and the cocktail sauce appears to be made in house and has a nice citrus undertone that pairs really well with the raw oysters. Overall I probably won't return unless they're menu changes. I think the vibe was elevated in the plating was also elevated. But the food just did not seem to bring home the same sentiment. Service and staff was really nice. Our server quickly rectified the situation with the lamb chops being overly cooked.
Been here a couple times and finally writing a review. Will continue to come back! Great service, great food my favorite pasta is the Rigatoni à la vodka. Marmo has one of the best happy hour menu's!! Happy hour 3-6pm Single serving pastas starting at $5! Great environment with indoor and big outdoor seating available, very classy and clean. What I ordered: Blue crab bruschetta Tuscan fried chicken Veal Bolognese Rigatoni à la Vodka Cacio e Pepe (only offered on happy hour) Chicken Parmesan Dirty martini Wine
As soon as I walked in I felt welcomed and I could tell the service would be top tier. I went here to try their Houston restaurant week and it did not disappoint. The steak was juicy and had a rich buttery flavor with a perfect balance of salt. The atmosphere was nice. It's a bit upscale and more elevated than a casual place. There was no dress code. I did park in the garage which costed about $5. Valet around there is $10.
I made a reservation at Marmo for a party of seven at 8:45 PM, but we weren't seated until 8:59 PM. Not a big deal on its own, but the experience went downhill from there. We ordered everything at once, and our server mentioned bread would come with a mascarpone spread. The bread arrived, but the spread never did. The wait for food was very long--by 9:37 PM, we still hadn't received appetizers. When the food finally came, everything (apps and entrées) arrived at the same time. There were also several order issues. My friend ordered a piccolo squid ink pasta but was given a larger (and more expensive) grande. I ordered my steak medium, but it came out rare. When I asked, the server initially insisted I ordered medium rare in a rude tone, then later admitted I was right and took it back. It came back overcooked and burnt--unacceptable for an $88 steak. The rest of the food didn't make up for it. My pasta was overcooked and falling apart, and the sides were room temperature and overly salty. To top it off, there was a "facilities fee" added to the bill that was never disclosed anywhere, which felt misleading. The ambiance was nice, but it was so loud. Overall, between the long wait, poor service, incorrect orders, and disappointing food, the experience was not worth it. I wouldn't return.

Best happy hour in town! The prices are unbeatable and the service is exceptional. The Rigatoni is my favorite, and their Caesar salad is a must-try. The oysters are so fresh and delicious, you'll want to order them more than once. read more

I stopped by for drinks and sat at the bar - staff was friendly, great cocktail selection and live music that created a lively vibe. The place was buzzing, so I'll definitely be back to try the food next time. Great spot for drinks and entertainment! read more

Food was good, I personally thought that my risotto was too salty. The Tuscan fried chicken is a good portion for sharing with a table. As well as the half portion of the risotto, I was able to share it with my mom. The chicken Parmesan was also pretty good Andy service was pretty fast. I really liked that someone would come by and served bread in a cute little basket. I just wish that they would have come back to refill our bread. We also got the Stella Rose, which was refreshing. The restaurant can be a little bit loud, especially during the time when we went, which was around 5 PM with the combination of the live music and just several other dinner parties, which can be a little bit overstimulating. But for some people that might be what they're looking for. read more
Not the fault of the restaurant's, but the low light ambiance was overshadowed by a puking woman when I walked in. God bless her; hope she's okay. From there, our waiter, although cordial, made a lot of assumptions about my friend and I. Upon tasting wines, we were put in a position to share wine glasses....which is fine, I guess, but when you order the most expensive wine...call me crazy, but I think your own glass is in order. I'm not sure but I got the distinct impression that my waiter turned his nose up at my use of "dry" rather than tannins. My apologies, oh high and mighty. But I digress...on to the food: Per my friend: oysters are 10/10. Very fresh but ask for crostinis as they do not have crackers. Blue Crab Bruschetta is also fresh but otherwise flavorless profile. However, a little dash of salt helped those flavors pop...especially the chili. My friend and I had a "Gimli" dinner, so we ordered the squid ink Campanella, the ricotta gnocchi, and the rigatoni alla vodka. Definitely order the Squid Ink Campanella. The freshness of the crab and complexity of the pasta--to die for excellent. Everything else paled in comparison. The Ricotta Gnocchi was a little too gamey for me, but the rabbit was cooked well. Avoid the Rigatoni alla Vodka unless you love Chef Boyardee because this dish bore a striking resemblance. Would I come again...eh...how much are plane tickets to Italy?? read more

The food here was some of the best I've had in a long time. Compliments to the chef because the squid ink pasta was beautiful. Homemade pasta, umami creamy sauce, tangy contrasting light and not stingy pieces of crab meat left my mouth watering. The waitress asked to take my plate when I had one big chunk of crab meat and literally 3 pieces of pasta left and I said no ma'am not there yet! Ambiance is stunning. It was a Tuesday night and they had the pianist full swing. Service was lovely and very fast. I have been spending $30 on such mediocre meals lately and asking myself how. Went for the happy hour menu. Tried the vodka pasta and the than fried chicken. Pasta was a very small amount and tasted like a normal tomato sauce. Was excited to try the Tuscan fried chicken however was very underwhelming. Felt like the chicken wasn't cooked properly and there just wasn't much flavor other than a basic fried chicken. read more
Food was solid, the red snapper was tasty and well balanced. Chicken marsala was pretty good too. The potatoes were amazing, best thing we ordered! I was really impressed with the desserts, particularly the panna cotta. The main thing making this place 3 stars was the dining *experience*. Without an exaggeration, this was probably the loudest restaurant i've ever eaten in. You could not hear what anyone at your table was saying, and had to yell very loudly to be heard, or just rely on lip reading. It also was such a loud roar that you left with a pounding headache. Unfortunately this constant roar kinda ruined the meal for us. Also it was extremely warm in here (their thermostat said 77°) and the waitstaff said the AC was like broke or having issues, so we were hot and sweating the entire time with no fans or air movement, eating our hot dishes. The food was really good. The squid ink with blue crab was so filling. The gnocchi was light with the pesto that made it really savory. The tiramisu was amazing !!!!! it was light and fluffy not too sweet everything you want. The server was really knowledgeable about the menu and helps us decide what we should get which everything was delish. The bread service was interesting, and surprising we had butter instead of OO dip. The menus were so huge I mean comically large I couldn't fit it back on the table. Sitting with an tv box in my lap while I eat dessert first was actually ridiculous. But outside of that the singer was earning her tips she sounded great and singing good selections. My boyfriend had previously raved about the lunch prix fixe here so we made a reservation on Good Friday for me to try it and boy did it not disappoint. The service here is excellent from the moment you walk through the door where you're greeted with smiling faces and such friendliness. Throughout our meal, our waiter was very attentive and would come check on us frequently, and dirty dishes and utensils were taken away almost immediately after being put to the side. The decor here is beautiful and there is so much natural light that floods through the dining area. The food is superb. The oysters were very fresh. The fried chicken was crisped to perfection, had just the right flakiness to it, and was seasoned well and paired very well with the garlic aoli. The bolognese was easily my favorite bolognese that I've ever had. The redfish came with the option of either coming whole or having the tail and head removed which I think is a considerate detail as that can sometimes deter people from the dish. The fish itself was did not taste fishy at all, was very tender, and fell right off the bones, especially the meat near the cheek and on the top of the head. There did seem to be a good amount of smaller bones that my boyfriend had to pick out with each bite throughout the meal but I guess that just comes with eating fresh fish. The sauce had a nice acidity to it and went really well with the flavor of the fish. For dessert, the gelato and sorbet came with several flavor options - I opted for cookie butter gelato and mango sorbet. I didn't quite care for the powdered cookie that came with it as it was very bland and quite honestly was like eating cardboard. But the gelato was very sweet and creamy, taste kind of reminded me of a blend between a biscoff cookie and horchata. The mango sorbet was my favorite of the two - the mango flavor was very concentrated and not artificial tasting at all, like it came from a real mango. My partner's tiramisu came in large bowl and we were surprised by how much was given. It was so decadent and rich but not overwhelming. Lunch was easily a 10/10 and I would absolutely come back for round 2. read more
The squid ink campanelle is to DIE for! It was soooo creamy, and had very good umami flavor! I've never had a pasta with uni cream sauce before, so this was a very pleasant experience. I also had a side of the roasted mushrooms, and they were good for being just mushrooms lol, but I love mushrooms so that could be biased. Marmo is a such a beautiful warm restaurant. It was so pretty and so calm! The staff were wonderful and gave amazing recommendations. The food was also great. Here's what we got: -Tuscan Fried Chicken 8/10: Very tasty and the sauce on the side is delicious -Polpette - Meatballs: 7/10: classic meatballs with great tomato sauce. Comes with a toasted bread with whipped Ricotta -Rigatoni Alla Vodka: 8.5/10: classic flavors but very good -Blueberry Bucatini: 9/10: sounds very different and it was but also great flavors! The guanciale is a great addition -Tiramisu: 11/10- amazing!!!!! My husband and I were so full after our meal but cleaned the plate! read more
Their happy hour is truly unmatched. Perfect portions so that you can try a little bit of everything. Service is always great and food comes out super quick. The rigatoni is sooo so good would come solely for that. Happy hour is from 3-6p daily and only in the bar area. They also have a pianist that usually plays in the bar area! read more
Great location great vibe great ambiance . The location is nice plenty of places to try for food . The service was quick nothing bad . The food the tiramisu was the best I've had , except for the tuna cannoli it had no flavor at all and it was a recommended dish I wouldn't recommend you try it . Everything else was great a great mix of foods to try but don't get the tuna cannoli . If you like trying new spots definitely check it out . read more

We came here for dinner on a Friday night with a reservation - the place was quite busy, so make a reservation if you are able! Their staff was very friendly in making sure we were taken care of throughout the evening. Our group decided to order multiple dishes and share amongst us to try as much as possible. To start, we had the meatballs an calamari appetizer; meatballs were the favorite of the table as we were expecting a crispy calamari vs the stewed version served (texture just wasn't for us). For mains we shared the eggplant parmesan, cowboy ribeye, rigatoni alla vodka, and the special offering of lobster pasta with cream sauce. For me, it was hard to pick a favorite in this course - all were excellent. To end on a sweet note we ordered the tiramisu, which had the perfect blend of coffee flavor to airy texture. Had a great time here last night with my friends! Overall good quality was great, though there gulf oysters aren't as meaty as ur standard gulf oysters. Their uni pasta is very well done and balanced and their meatballs are also great. Great wine selection with a kind sommelier who gave us great recommendations! Interior design is also amazing. All in all great but a little pricy for the quality but not too bad compared to other high end places read more

SUCH GOOD PASTA! Gnocchi was not as good though considering it was "hand made". The atmosphere is cozy and more high end. They had a live singer that really set the mood. Great dinner place if you want to go somewhere nice! This place is located in the more young and upcoming area of montrose so the vibes are definitely like that. read more

We made reservations for a Friday evening for a girl's night out. If you're not ubering I would definitely plan some extra time for parking. The parking garage attached was completely full and so we had to look around for street parking. The valet line was also extremely long. The restaurant itself is very cute and aesthetic, they had a live performer which is always a plus. We started off with the unlimited fresh bread with butter. For our meal we had the Roasted Carrot salad (3.5/5): the truffle ricotta was nice Tuscan Fried Chicken (4/5): very juicy and flavorful Rigatoni Alla Vodka (3.5/5): Simple and straightforward Squid Ink Campanelle (3.5/5): I expected a little more out of the uni sauce but they definitely give you a good serving of crab We also ordered a variety of cocktails but none of them really stood out to us, especially at the $16-20 price point. Overall, the food was decent and the ambiance of the restaurant was perfect for a girl's night. However, for the price of the food I had higher expectations. I wouldn't mind coming back here once in awhile but won't be on my regular restaurant rotation list read more
We came for happy hour which is Sun-Fri from 3-6pm and you must be seated at the bar tops near the bar or at their outside patio. As you walk through their doors, we were immediately greeted with live piano performance. Unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy the music as we were seated outside. East coast oysters were $2 each, fresh and clean! Happy hour portions are small plates, probably shareable for two people, we had 6 people and we ordered 2 of each item on their HH menu but really regretted that as our eyes were bigger than our stomachs! My favorite was the Rigatoni alla vodka pasta and their Squid Ink Campanelle (not on their HH menu). All the items on the HH menu are $7 except for their charcuterie board. The Polpette (classic meatballs) was solid but a tad bit salty for my palate. No prefix cocktails included in HH but Drinks(wells) were $8 and really strong, they didn't skimp on the alcohol. They do offer beer and wine as well. Valet is complimentary and in front of the restaurant. The guy who oversaw the valet was really nice, he offered ice cold water as we were waiting for our car. A great place for happy hour with friends and/or dinner date. Would highly recommend to make a reservation, not sure if they offer reservation for HH though (call to confirm). read more

To start, everyone who interacted with us was so so kind. Out waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and was able to provide advice that seemed genuine. We mentioned we wanted to try a certain wine and she quickly sent the sommelier to our table. He also was very intelligent and enjoyable to talk to, not to mention the amazing recommendation he provided. We got the squid ink pasta, raw oysters, and the crab bruschetta. All of it was incredible, only note was the oysters weren't particularly cold. Nobody made us leave when it started to get late and we never felt like a burden. Free valet, validated at restaurant via QR code from hostess after you dine. Live music inside. We had happy hour outside patio. The moscato was amazing but it wasn't in the menu. The sparkling wine was good. Oysters raw were delicious. Not fishy at all. The charcuterie was ok. Entree wise I had the ink pasta. That was good. The pistachio tortellini was amazing. The lobster ravioli was great. Overall great food, ambiance, and service. read more

We wanted Lobster Ravioli but they no longer are serving it :(. This was in May 2025 but they still had a Lobster pasta that was very good! Service was great and ambiance was 10/10! We did have a reservation for 7:15 for 10 and didn't get seated until about 7:30pm but other than that was great!! read more

Good not great. Review based on my most recent visit but I have dined at Marmo several times. The good: as someone with a gluten sensitivity I was excited to learn that they make their own GF pasta daily. I ordered the GF pasta alla vodka. The panna cotta was not too sweet and had great flavor. It could have been a bit more firm. Not so good: Service was inconsistent and pretty much not present after our entrees were served. We spent too much time looking around for assistance when needed. Meatballs were SUPER SALTY! We did bring this to the attention of our waiter. The restaurant has a nice happy hour with live music. A nice vibe to grab a class and a bite. Overall it would not be my first place to grab Italian - too many great options in the city but I'm not opposed to dining at Marmo again. read more
Marmo is one of my preferred Italian restaurants. The ambiance is classy, the service is always good, and on the weekends they have a pianist. But I'm here to talk about their incredible happy hour! Love everything about Marmo. My server was super friendly and bubbly. She was always checking on us, and her service was prompt. Love the decor and warm colors in the restaurant, it gives me good vibes. My party ordered the beef tenderloin with rosemary aged beef fat butter, aged NY strip with black garlic mostarda, spaghetti, lobster fra diavolo, hamachi, oysters on half shell, Tuscan chicken, triple scoop of Ferraro Rocher gelato, chocolate flourless cake, and crostata. All the food was super yummy. Hamachi as a starter was perfect. The passion fruit ponzu was sweet but slightly sour. The fish, avocado, and ponzu came together harmoniously. The raw oysters were very fresh. Had to eat them with chili! For entrées, temperatures of the meat were perfect. Both steak dishes were seasoned perfectly. Meats were so tender. Yummy. The spaghetti was al dente, and the sauce was so good. The lobster fra diavolo was perfect. Lobster was cooked well. Everything in the dish was good. The Tuscan chicken was fried perfectly. Super good. Our desserts were scrumptious. My favorite was the chocolate flourless cake. The cake was super chocolatey, and not overly sweet. Every spoon was a delight. The gelato had strong Ferraro Rocher taste. The chocolate gelato was a great treat. The crostata was warm and yummy. The rhubarb in the dessert complemented the sweet pastry. Highly recommend Marmo. Marmo is giving Italian done right, and dinner was a delight! The service was friendly, there was music in the bar, and the ambiance was date night approved. Hubs and I tried the gnocchi and rigatoni and loved each dish. The drinks were crafty and delicious. Heck, even their bread service was friggin' fantastic, go figure. 10s across the board! So glad we found Marmo! It was absolutely delicious, the environment is nice, and they had a live pianist. Our waiter was really friendly. My husband and I shared the porterhouse steak with a side of mashed potatoes and broccolini and wow! It was out of this world delicious, we added a side of bone marrow sauce, I've never been a fan of bone marrow, but this sauce was crazy delicious! Totally recommend! read more

One of my favorite happy hours to go to. The food portions are small, but this allows you to try so many things for a great price and still be full after! The staff are also friendly and the greens and white colors of the establishment make it feel earthy and clean. read more
