We ordered the ginger sesame salad (Chinese chicken salad) and the honey Dijon club salad. My husband wanted a sandwich which he used to get years ago and they were able accommodate him. It was the vegetarian garden grill sandwich. We really appreciated the friendliness of the staff at the cafe and their willingness to accommodate my husband's order. The food at the Nordstrom Café was actually really great. I have celiac disease, so I can't consume gluten, and it's not always easy finding places that have genuinely good gluten-free options. I really appreciated that and was excited to eat my meal. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by how I was treated by one of the staff members. I had ordered online ahead of time since I only have a short lunch break and planned to dine in. There were plenty of open tables, but I was told I couldn't sit because online orders weren't considered "dine-in" and that seating was reserved so staff could make tips. That explanation didn't make sense and honestly made me feel unwelcomed as a paying customer. I was really looking forward to my meal, and the interaction completely killed the vibe. If you plan on eating here, I would recommend ordering in person to avoid any confusion. For a mall with such a huge food court and so many options, Nordstrom's Marketplace Cafe definitely felt like a breath of fresh air and a relief, in comparison to some of the other spots in this mall. No frills, solid food here at the cafe with solid service. It's tucked away on the 2nd floor of the Nordstrom and a bit hard to find. It's in the corner and is also not advertised anywhere, kind of like a secret cafe haha. It almost feels luxurious eating here LOL This was my first time eating at a Nordstrom Cafe and I was so impressed! I heard that other Nordstrom Cafes have a pizza oven and a lot of pizza, but unfortunately this cafe does not have the pizza oven built in. I ordered the special birria short rib grilled cheese ($20.00) off their special menu. The sandwich is made on sourdough bread with somewhat of a toasted parmesean crust on the bread. I loved the taste of the bread and how crunchy it was because of this parmesean crust. The meat was so juicy, especially because the birria is dipped in consome, just overall adding to the flavor profile of the dish. It comes with chips or salad, and I opted for a side of Caesar salad. We also ordered a kid's meal, which was honestly a really good deal. For $13, it comes with a grilled cheese sandwich (same size as my grilled cheese), tomato soup for dipping, fruit, and a full-sized drink. Lastly, we also ordered the bolognese pasta with meatballs. Solid dish with delicious flavors! You know, for a Nordstrom Cafe, you wouldn't expect service but I was pleasantly surprised that this was sort of like a dine-in experience! I can't believe I've gone to this mall for the past 30+ years and didn't know this existed. I couldn't even find it without having to ask the ebar downstairs. I've had it 3 times this week! I got obsessed with the grilled cheese and tomato basil soup and the crazy part is I don't even like tomato or basil in anything. Service is easy, I made a phone call and got connected right away. I also have ordered in person and I love this location because the meal comes with fruit and a drink (the Glendale location did not). And if you order on DoorDash it won't come with the fruit and drink either. So make sure you order on the phone or in person! The snickerdoodle cookie is unmatched, they don't look soft but they absolutely are. So heavenly and delicious. Ambience is really chill, I just wish parking was better. read more

This was my first time visiting Nordstrom marketplace cafe. I didn't even know they had a cafe. I ordered the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich with Simple salad and Cilantro Lime Salad with grilled chicken. Everything was delicious. The sandwich had grilled red peppers and onions inside which I liked. As for the Cilantro Lime salad, the grilled chicken was added for $4. The grilled chicken was surprisingly good. Even though the salad had cilantro in it, I hardly tasted or noticed it. I didn't taste any lime flavor either. Maybe it's in the sauce. Either way, the salad was still delicious. I asked for grilled corn to be on the side because I don't like when corn is burnt and has black spots on them. I've been undecided on if I should write this review or not. I visited Market place cafe on April 16th for lunch with my sister. We both ordered the tomato soup and grilled cheese. The restaurant was busy my sister and I found a table but from there the visit takes a turn. As I'm sitting on the table bench a lady I believe might have been an employee from the store tells me to please not panic but there is a big bug right next to you. To my surprise I look down and that big bug was a big roach about to crawl on me had I not jumped out of my seat. My sister and I waited for someone to come out to assist with the situation. I was definitely in shock. I understand these things happen everywhere. It's wasn't the roach that surprised me it was that no one came out to assist me and my sister with the issue of the roach at our table. The employees just swiped the bug away and never asked if they could assist us or apologize that a roach almost climbed on me. I've been a restaurant customer for many years but I'm definitely disappointed with the customer experience on how this situation was handled. read more

First time visiting this Nordstrom Cafe at the Santa Anita Mall. They had delicious food with lots of options (soup, salad, sandwiches, entree, pasta) including several gluten-free dishes. They had friendly attentive service, they constantly came by to check on us & refill our drinks. It was clean & spacious with plenty of indoor & outdoor seating. We came for lunch on a Sunday & there were plenty of seats. They had complementary soft, freshly baked, hot bread & butter. I enjoyed the Chef's Skirt Steak Entree, medium rare, it was cooked perfectly & very flavorful. It came with asparagus & roasted potatoes. My daughter enjoyed her kids meal Penne Alfredo with chicken, which came with a drink & fruit. Their homemade lemonade was good too with free refills! This salad was delicious. But the room itself is very loud. I believe it was recently renovated because the furnishings look new. The space reflects the sounds of other people and children, so please note that your conversations may need to be projected in order to be heard. This was such a nice and delicious surprise! I finally got to try this cafe thanks to a $10 GC given to me during an anniversary event. The restaurant is clean and spacious. If it wasn't so hot, I would have sat on the outdoor patio. Hubby and I share the burrata and tomato salad and a chicken panini sandwich. The panini sandwich unfortunately had a spicy chipotle sauce that I cannot eat. More for hubby and he was happy! I got to enjoy most of the salad and it was so delicious and refreshing. Really lovely cafe with a touch of class! The menu items are well prepared with quality ingredients. I recommend the Hamburger w/fries or the salad with the chicken and Cilantro preparation (there are many good choices here). Service is friendly, and the food delivery is good but not fast. So, if you are in a hurry, I would add an extra 15 minutes overall. The outdoor seating is terrific with a view and comfortable seating. Pricing is very fair compared to other cafes nearby. The husb and I enjoyed our time at the Nordstrom Cafe. I got the turkey bacon avocado sandwich and the husb got the penne bolognese and meatballs dish. Food was great, directions were followed since I can't have tomatoes. After we ordered we wondered how they were going to find us and give us our food. A waitress arrived and looked at our check/bill, which led her to figure out what we were getting. The space was relaxing, with lots of tables and booth seating. They have a patio as well, but it was hot the husb sweats easily! I also had the clam chowder, creamy texture, ok tasting, but nothing to run towards to. I wanted more bread to go with my soup, but they didn't have any. Apparently, they had a bread shortage. When we got there the couple next to us was waiting for bread. I heard their Marketplace Cafe (now called Nordstrom Cafe, I suppose) was good, so we decided to give it a try. Their double beef burger here is surprisingly good and you know I hated it, because I finished everything. Really couldn't help myself. Soft bun, melty cheese, tender beef patties with juice oozing out with every bite. I opted for a side salad to sort of balance out all the richness and it was a perfect sweet and tangy summer taste. I've been coming here for years and I can't believe there's so little coverage on Yelp! So I decided to write a review about this cute cafe right on the 2nd floor of Nordstrom just right after you come in from the outdoor parking lot on the upper level. I ordered the roasted turkey and avocado club sandwich and it was delicious as always. It's a good size sandwich so I told the cashier I would be splitting it with my friend and the sandwich came on 2 separate plates with the salad divided nicely. I love it when they do that. So instead of me trying to split the food and creating a big mess, they did it for me in the kitchen. For $15.50, it's a good portion and can be shared between 2 people so you can have room for dessert! I've also had their cilantro lime chicken salad, ginger sesame chicken salad and prime French dip sandwich and they were all gourmet and yummy! Now onto the dessert, there's the famous Nordstrom chocolate chip cookie and I have to say it's pretty epic! Their other desserts such as brownies and cakes are mouthwatering too. Now a hidden gem is also their kids menu! There's a good range of selection from seared wild salmon to butter noodles and grill cheese and soup just to name a few. All kids' menu entrees come with a drink and fruits. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. It's a perfect place to lunch with a friend before and after shopping or bring the little ones with you. I don't shop at Nordstrom's but my friend recommended their cafe. We split the burger and beef dip. Both were fresh, juicy, and high quality. We were not disappointed. The fries were crispy and had great seasoning. Portions were reasonable and the price was what you'd expect for Nordstrom's. A perk is fountain drinks are free refills. I don't know if it was Dr Pepper or Mr Pibb but a sweet treat. I don't usually drink soda. It's been a long time since I came here. I stopped by for lunch and thankfully it wasn't packed. You have to order and pay at the counter first before you pick a table. I ordered Chicken Lemon Pesto Gnocchi pasta and my mom ordered Wild Salmon Niciose salad. Food was delicious and we had a great time catching up. There were other customers but we sat over 6ft apart. Salmon fillet salad, I'm under the impression that I'm supposed to be indulging in quite HEALTHY EATS and I am under suspicion that this would qualify... lol The cafe crafted a beautifully prepared petite filet of salmon atop a garden green salad. Accompanied by a Tangy vinaigrette along with tangerine pieces. It was all together refreshing and filling and dare I say, savory? There were even sprinkles of pine seeds scattered throughout. My rating would have to be a 8.9. A 8.9? That would only have to do with the fact that I was left with.... wanting.... no ..... yearning? Umm...no... craving??? Umm... aching for more. Do not eat here! I gor severe food poisoning from eating their spinach and artichoke dip! My boyfriend got sick as well and since that was the only thing we'd shared it made sense it was that! I would give this place a five star, if it wasn't for one waitress that doesn't take care of her appearance and seems to be that the manager doesn't stress enough in that area. Please have the waiters and waitress pick their hair up, or cover the hair as they do in some other restaurants.
