I wish I could give this a negative star it was so awful! Aside from the beautiful views I wouldn't even wish my worst enemy to eat here. This restaurant is at the Marriott Hotel in Phoenix Arizona and the valet thought it was closed and seemed confused when we arrived. Upon arriving to the hostess he even declined our reservation at first which was another red flag. Once I displayed my online reservation from OpenTable he then seemed to agree and stated he needed to check if they had a table. Five minute later he walks us into an empty dining room and we did not understand the reason for the wait. As it was a Saturday afternoon during Super Bowl Weekend, it was a shock to see the entire dining room empty with limited staff. We ordered champagne and after our water arrived our waitress advised us they were out of champagne in the entire hotel which seemed suspicious. After we ordered our meals, champagne magically became available but our mimosas had no bubbles so I don't know if we were served old or reused champagne. As we wait for our calamari appetizers the waitress didn't realize they were appetizers and stated she would bring out with our food. Now is where it gets worse. Calamari tasted of rubber and old oil Turkey club sandwich had no mayo or sauce of any kind The chicken quesadilla was made with old chicken and really hard The wings were overcooked The tortilla soup was clumpy and salty The fries arrived right before the check after the burger/sandwiches were consumed We were a group of 6 and she seemed confused when we asked for separate checks and had to confirm every item we ordered prior to bringing us our check. This restaurant if you can call it that definitely is not to Marriott standards and now I know this is the food/service provided I do not even recommended staying at this hotel.

Enjoyable breakfast buffet

Enjoyable hotel buffet with great view of the Phoenix/Tempe area. Selection of food was rather limited but satisfyingly good as a breakfast option. Would certainly be a much better experience if they address the craziness at their "infamous" omelet line and add a waffle machine or soup. But again, the overall experience was very "comfortable" and pleasing that I would highly recommend to all resort guests as the service from their staff is "top-notch," what you'd expect from the Marriott brand.

The Market Cafe is a nice little quick breakfast stop. You can get continental for a hot buffet breakfast or a small up charge. Is that a charge you can get? I need to order omelette. Food is decent enough but the atmosphere is amazing. Everywhere I give up. Yes something new to see the setting is perfect way to start your day. The service was great, the only reason why I get to 4 is because it's a buffet. Beautiful place!

muffins and hot food next to the "continental breakfast " are NOT included in platinum elite voucher and cost extra. VERY DECEIVING.

Overpriced, mediocre food with poor service. We received a breakfast voucher for each morning of our stay as our welcome bonus for Platinum Elite status. The first day the waitress told us the voucher was good for the buffet and that she could get some eggs and pancakes started for us. We declined because we do not eat eggs. The second day, we helped ourselves to the buffet and were told upon returning to our seat that the small scoop of potatoes we got was an extra $6. Apparently the voucher is only good for one half of the buffet, the "continental side." Anything hot is extra. Definitely not informed of this the day before. The food is very mediocre and they normally charge $26 for both halves of the buffet. We talked to the restaurant GM to provide constructive feedback about the lack of consistency in the wait staff instruction and he gave us a smug grin and said " well the voucher says continental." The one bright side is we didn't pay the $6 for our scoop of potatoes but still such an off putting experience. Who give a voucher for only part of a buffet and then charges you a la carte for taking items from the wrong side?! So here's a tip for those with elite Marriott status- skip the breakfast and take the points. Better yet, don't stay here because it's a run down, dingy hotel.

Great breakfast with nice scenery. We ate breakfast here after our first night stay at the Marriott. The service was excellent and our waitress, Chivelly (not sure if I spelled it right) was excellent. They had really good options for the kids and the coffee was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our order and it was nice to sit near a man made waterfall. Our kids had the chocolate chip pancakes with OJ. My husband and I shared pancakes, eggs, sausage and hash browns. I will say that the potatoes were not hash browns even though that's what it said on the menu. Regardless, everything was delicious! Glad we decided to try it out.

Very good experience, stopped for a quick bite checking out of the resort and before our flight home. The staff was friendly, everything was prepared fresh and quick since they knew we were pressed for time. Everyone enjoyed the food, my mani tacos were missing the tangy lemon flavor, ahi poke was ok but I really loved the lamb kofta. Will certainly recommend!!

They do have good hot chocolate

The view is beautiful! The service is great! However the food is so so. The French toast was pretty good, but the side items like the bacon and potatoes all tasted like they were frozen and heated up really quick. (Not the servers fault). We definitely expected a little more given the prices of the items. Other than that it was clean, the view was great, and so was the service!

Grilled shrimp cob salad. The beautiful flower is actually a radish!

The Market Cafe offers great food and presentation, with friendly staff. For lunch, I had a cob grilled shrimp salad, that was delicious, however the shrimp was a bit on the salty side. Tentative and prompt service, fresh food selection, and a fun place to eat at the resort.

Then he started talking to my daughter about a couple of other drink options, and wow--he had me reconsidering my whole order! My daughter reminded me that I don't like prickly pear, but Hunter kindly let me sample it anyway. Snakes & Lattes is a fun spot in downtown Tempe to grab food, drinks, and hang out with friends…read moreover board games. The space is huge with plenty of tables, booths, and bar seating, plus they have a dog-friendly patio, although it didn't seem to be open during our visit. One thing to note is that ordering is done entirely through QR code, so interaction with staff is pretty minimal. Service was still smooth, but it definitely has more of a self-service feel. Their board game collection is massive and there's a $6 per person fee if you want to play. We ended up skipping the games this time and just came for food and drinks. Food-wise, everything was solid. I had the Spellbinder Hazy IPA along with the patty melt and sweet potato fries (a $3 upcharge). The patty melt was excellent and easily the highlight of my meal. The fries were decent, though I wish they had been a little crispier. My wife had the 12 West Super Beaker Tropical IPA and the carnitas bowl. We also shared the fried pickle chips. Parking can be a bit of a hassle since all the nearby downtown Tempe garages are paid parking, but there are at least several options within walking distance. There's even a small paid lot right behind the restaurant. Overall, a really cool concept with good food, drinks, and an impressive game selection.

I had their regular cold brew with a splash of cream and a Sunrise Sandwich- both were so good! The cold brew had a lovely aftertaste that in my opinion, reminded me of dark chocolate and whiskey. Service was also fantastic- the lovely barista was thorough in her explanations of each cold coffee option to help me find what I was looking for! My sandwich was also lovely- the Sunrise Sandwich on an Everything Bagel is easily my favorite breakfast sandwich in Tempe. The Basil Pesto adds a bit of freshness to an otherwise very rich sandwich. Also stopped in a few more times on my evening walks for a Lavender Haze (seasonal earl grey sage honey drink: EXCELLENT!) and their seasonal energy drink- it was a Sunset Spritz (energy with grapefruit pink cordial): both delicious. Happy to say service has improved greatly. Employees are on task and happy to answer my questions. The drinks on the seasonal menu are very good, and their classics are also great. If you're going to go soon, I'm a big fan of the Sage honey and a big fan of the cordial syrup on the 2026 Spring Menu. Will definitely be hitting Infusion up for some future study sessions.
