Short rib hash

I have no idea how I've gone all this time living in Jax without making it to Marker 32! A miss in my part for sure. The restaurant itself is so unassuming from the outside and also really from the inside as well. It's very understated, but maintains a level of class. Nothing is overdone decor-wise and it's just... nice. And the food was wonderful. We started with deviled eggs for the table. Not one of my personal favorite foods, but even I liked it. The fried oyster on top is a great add. I had the lemon ricotta pancakes, which came with a side of bacon. The pancakes I imagined were going to be super rich, but they weren't! They were perfect fluffy, tasty pancakes with blueberry on them as a perfect topper. The bacon was just the right amount of crispy while still being just a little chewy. I also did have a nibble of the short rib hash and I am convinced I will get that for myself next time. So much flavor in just my one forkful. I was too stuffed full to eat any dessert but I will be dreaming of those beignets until next time (even tho technically an appetizer). We were served a little praline tho, which I thought was nice and of course I found a little space for! Our server was also just such a gem. The exact right amount of checking in and information on specials etc. they made an already great experience that much more wonderful. Also at a time when I feel like so many restaurants are just way overpriced, Marker32 is not. The food quality is well beyond the price they charge which was a great surprise. This spot is definitely on my will return list. Gotta try out the dinner menu.

Marker 32 is such a great place to enjoy a meal with a lively atmosphere and beautiful views on the water. Our waitress was incredibly helpful and did a great job guiding us through the menu and helping us figure out what we wanted. We started with the fresh bread and fried green tomatoes, which were amazing. The sauce on the tomatoes was especially delicious and really made the dish stand out. We also ordered the citrus salad, which was refreshing, flavorful, and generous enough for the two of us to split. For my entree, I had the vegan udon stir fry, and it was fantastic. It had a great kick of spice, was filling, and was packed with flavor. My wife had the pan-roasted airline chicken and absolutely loved it -- especially the mashed potatoes that came with it. We both completely cleaned our plates! We also tried the hot Mama cocktail, which was recommended to us, and it definitely did not disappoint. Overall, Marker 32 delivered from start to finish. Great food, attentive service, a fun energy, and a beautiful waterfront setting. We'd definitely come back!

This place is so good! From the atmosphere, the service, to the food and drink, Marker 32 hit it out of the ball park. We started with some octopus and smoked canapés. The octopus was cooked just right and definitely not the dreaded rubbery texture that every octopus lover despises. I ordered the scallops and it was served on a bed of grits. I've never been a huge fan of grits but these grits were the best I've ever had. They were creamy and full of flavor. The creme bruelee at the end was also good. The one small regret I have is that I was pregnant at the time and didn't get to try the raw foods or drinks that my husband had ordered. I guess I'll have to find an opportunity to come back!

The food was so flavorful and beautifully presented. Our server, Jenifer was so sweet and knowledgeable. This place is beautiful and right on the water. Everything is fairly priced for the quality and amount.

Great spot on the water! And the service and food were wonderful. Melissa waitress was great, spot on regarding timing of orders, drink refills etc. in for party of 4 and enjoyed it. Good atmosphere, menu had some nice items like the deviled eggs, fried oysters and the smokes salmon apps.

Marker 32 has been a Jacksonville gem for Well Over a decade, and it's easy to see why. The food, the service, and the location right on the water make it a place I'll always recommend to friends and family visiting from out of town. I recently brought my aunt and uncle (visiting from Texas and Atlanta), and it was one of three places I suggested near their hotel. They absolutely loved their meal -- even though we didn't end up with a window seat as requested days in advance, the experience was still wonderful. If I could offer one small piece of constructive feedback, it would be this: I'd love to see a few fresh additions or seasonal updates to the menu. Everything on it is fantastic -- it's just been consistently the same for at least 15 years (which says a lot about how well-loved those dishes are!). A few rotating specials or new seasonal dishes would give regulars even more reason to keep coming back. Still, Marker 32 continues to deliver the kind of quality and hospitality that's very well appreciated. It's a true classic that remains one of my go-to recommendations for visitors and locals alike. I'd love to visit more often, eventhough I've never lived close to this restaurant. I'd make the trip more often for some fun, new additions on the food and drink menu.

First time here to celebrate my mom's birthday based on the good reviews here. But I left disappointed. Food: everything was too salty or spicy. If it's fresh seafood, it shouldn't be smothered in seasoning. The steak had too much pepper; fries were too soggy. Our waiter must have checked out by the time we arrived. We ordered the Caesar salad and he asked if we wanted anchovies with it. But it never arrived; he said he did not recall that we had ordered it. Drinks were empty and he didn't come by to ask for refills. I had to flag him down. Not sure why this place is still popular unless old habits die hard. If looking for an elevated dining experience, I'd pay a little more and go to 14 Prime instead. Won't be back.

My husband and I love this place! Best restaurant in Jacksonville IMO :) I absolutely love their oysters-- cooked perfectly, great flavor. I get them every time we come. For entrees, my husband had the short rib, and I had the swordfish special. This was my first time eating swordfish and it did not disappoint. It was cooked very well- super fresh. Only thing I would change is that it was a little salty for my liking. My husband is still talking about the short rib with the risotto. He also convinced a friend of ours to try it when he went, and he was equally as happy with the dish. We ordered bread pudding for dessert. No complaints- nice end to the dinner. Our server checked on us appropriately and explained the specials well. He was friendly and attentive. Our view was beautiful as we were seated at the window overlooking the marina. Would like to come sometime and sit at the bar for happy hour- heard they have great specials.

I ate here with girlfriends for my birthday dinner after having wanted to try it for years. Wow! How wonderful this place is. (It's a little loud, which is why I gave it four stars.) I can't wait to return!

A classy seafood establishment right on the water off Beach Blvd. High class, $$$, but you get the Elite experience. My father and I had a daddy daughter date here for this past Father's Day. We made a reservation in advance and came early to have a glass of wine at the bar. The FULLY STOCKED bar was large (not much separated from the dining area) and the bartender was friendly and professional. We looked at their red wine selection and asked the bartender for something fruity. The food was really very good, the steaks were tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. The crème brûlée was delicious (my favorite). The atmosphere was (surprisingly) moderately quiet, ocean coloring prevailed - white, blue, dark wood, and ideal for semi-intimate dining and special occasions. I imagine it's more lively and loud on Friday/Saturday. I remember piano music playing from somewhere, which added to the appeal. Get a window seat and show up just before sunset. That way you get the pretty view in daytime, and IF you angle yourself just right, you'll enjoy that colorful evening glow fade into the dark ambience of an elegant night time dinner.

Service at the bar was awesome from start to finish. We decided to order the food specials and were beyond pleased with every choice. The oysters were sweet, clean, and absolutely delicious. The salad with chipotle and figs was pure perfection--such a great balance of flavors. We also ordered the ribeye special with caramelized onions, and I honestly can't recommend it enough. Everything was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. We'll definitely be back!

Are dogs allowed for the outdoor seating please?

There currently is no outdoor seating available. Hopefully with the renovation coming!

Are reservations for Saturday night dining suggested? Or is the wait under 45 minutes without?

There is limited seating so a reservation is highly recommended.

But she did enjoy her bun-less burger that was prepared gluten free without cross contamination. Their shipwrecked wings were solid as were the deep fried deviled eggs -- something, I hadn't experienced before but was impressed with how it was prepared. Aesthetically, it's this large cavernous space with beige walls that appears at one point it could have been a mattress store that then transformed into a bar with a full kitchen. The bar is very no frills with pool tables set up at opposite corners of the establishment but still close to the bar counter that is island-style. They have some arcade games and a space for table seating. Cocktail wise, it's nothing grand. Don't go thinking you are going to order Negronis there. I kept it simple and ordered a Yuengling draft and a Duke's Brown Ale from a local brewery. Both were served cold and were refreshing. My wife settled on her standard G&Ts and was satisfied. The staff were friendly as was the owner who I think also was the Kitchen Manager as well. It was a Monday night when the Saints and Falcons were playing so we were checking our fantasy scores. It serves as a local handout spot for sure and is probably wicked packed on fridays and saturdays. Still it was loud due to the church group of preteens and teens that were holding court at one pool table area before moving directly behind us at the other area. Would have preferred not to have that much noise but I also thought, they were at least having fun and doing something friendly as opposed to getting into trouble as I rationalized. The tavern is a fair spot if you need a beer and some wings. And a game of pool if you're inclined and can grab an open table.

It was really one of the best fried seafood platters that I can remember - seriously ! The line was steady the entire time we were eating but it was moving steadily. Everything from the chicken and waffles to the sandwiches, breakfast plates, and sweet treats was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The drinks were refreshing, service was excellent, and even the bathrooms were spotless! The restaurant itself has a really cool, rustic atmosphere. My only two minor complaints were the seating and noise. If your party is larger than 5-6 people, you may end up sharing a high-top table with another group, separated by a small divider. We also got seated toward the back near a group that was EXTREMELY loud. Listen, I'm all for having a good time, but WHEW, they were enjoying themselves enough for everybody! Outside of those two things, I really enjoyed the experience! Great food, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Those minor seating issues are the only reason I'm giving it a 4.5 instead of a perfect 5. We'll absolutely be back because brunch was fantastic, but now I need to see what that DINNER menu is talking about! Shoutout to our amazing server Stephanie as well, oh guys this place takes tap to pay !!
