Snyder Electric completed a couple of projects at our home in Fallbrook although consumer beware that get things in writing and/or agreement b4 having them perform work. We received an invoice on work that was never agreed to, Synder Electric never proposed in writing as an estimate and just a surprise invoice weeks later to a scope of work and amount that was never discussed nor agreed to. Also, the receptionist and scheduler is hard of hearing and honestly they need to revamp that customer facing engagement or have an automated service field their calls, appointments, etc. Overall a 2 out of 10 regarding our experience with Snyder Electric... Mark and his team are top notch. My electric service box overheated and was damaged during the September long weekend heat wave we experienced here in San Diego. Mark's team showed up promptly to make temporary repairs so I could continue to maintain my household while we scheduled in a full electric service replacement. They helped navigate the entire process which takes weeks and requires significant coordination with the local utility, obtaining various approvals, completing the actual electric box replacement and then finally certification and drywall repair. They managed each step in the process and did an excellent job completing the work on-time and as budgeted. The lady answering the phone is useless, rude and should be no where near anything to do with customer service. Xantrex said they were a "warranty center", Xantrex also said they were in Carmichael, CA. These people are not. Aside from being rude they are running a scam with were they are located. When calling Xantrex, Xantrex was great. Xantrex is pushing a fast return for us. By sending it back to the factory. We contacted Snyder Electric for two projects. One was to inquire about adding batteries to our solar system. The other was to add a transfer switch to our electric panel so we could connect our generator in case of a power failure. After several phone calls and emails, Mark finally got back to us. After some discussion we decided to wait on adding batteries. Mark told us to send pictures of our panel to him and he said he would get back to us. We sent all the requested pictures. After several "weeks" of phone calls and emails-he never did. I spoke to Molly on four occasions and each time she assured me that Mark would get back to me. He never did. If this is the quality of their service-follow ups etc. I would be reluctant to hire this company for a project of any size. Maybe that's why they never got back to me. I really hate leaving negative reviews but this company (or at least their scheduler) deserves it. The scheduling employee Joan is extremely rude and unprofessional. Clearly has no idea what customer service is. They don't do evenings or weekends and when I gave them a 2 hour window in which I could be home during work they showed up 3 minutes before I had to be back at work and expected me to drop everything. When I tried to reschedule Joan informed me that I "must reply immediately" and told me that I chose to not be there when they showed up. I'm sorry but people have jobs as well and if scheduling is such a difficult thing for this company then maybe they should hire someone that understands that giving customers attitude is usually bad for business. read more

They came out quickly and solved my problem which turned out to be loose fuses, after a tightening my problem is solved. The service technician was there for 45 minutes and I got a bill for $160. I think that's outrageous, I looked up average wages of electricians and it says between 27 and $28 per hour for our area. And it's not like he had to drive far as I live right down the street from him. Happy with service, unhappy with price! read more

Our outlet was not working. The electrician showed up, spent 1.5 hr, couldn't find the problem. I had to call a friend, who figured out it was just a breaker tripped which is located next to the main panel. I was still charged for the 1.5 hour plus the fee of their traveling to my location. At first, I though I'd found my 'forever go to' electrical service. I spoke to David and he was very knowledgable, providing an evaluation of what needed to be accomplished through texted photos and phone conversations. Then, it took weeks to get a cost quote. Once the quote came it took several more weeks to get a scheduled appointment. Then on the appointment date, they never showed up. I waited, and waited, then called them and they didn't even have me on their schedule (and they are the ones that gave me the appointment day and time). I could go on, however no need. When I tried to set up a date for the job. There was no response. Updated review... After a few communication problems, the boss took over and fixed everything. Thank goodness for him! Senior electrician came out, was very knowledgeable. Fixed 2 problems easily enough. Didn't try to upsell. They aren't the cheapest but you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to paying for existing and knowledge.! Payment was quick and easy. Our old solar inverter blew and not being the original owners we knew nothing about the system. Every company I contacted either wouldn't help or wanted to sell me a new system. I was referred to Mark from the manufacturer of our inverter. Mark was fast to respond and worked with me to figure out what our system was. It turns out the type of solar system we had is no longer common and tracking down a new inverter was difficult. Mark went above and beyond and did all the work to find one for us. One of his guys came out and installed it in a few hours and we are back to running on solar. I was very disappointed with the billing that was done by this company. I have never heard of billing the customer for loading up the truck and drive time to the job site (This was an hour and 25 minutes at $90 dollars an hour). I was also charged an hour for a write up of the bill for tax purposes (which I did not ask for). I feel that I have been overcharged over $200. I asked the owner to review the bill (by email) and I would call him the next day. I thought that there was just an honest mistake made. Everything was fine until I started to ask about the number of labor hours charged. At that point, I could no longer get a word in edgewise. I asked if I could finish talking about my concerns without being interrupted and he said no. He said that I needed to listen to him and if I didn't like it I did not need to use them again. I did have them change where the inverter was located and fully expected to pay for that in labor and parts associated with that. The owner did sound very knowledgeable about solar and repair. If you choose to use this company I would make sure that you understand how they bill before agreeing to use them. read more

This guy knows his stuff. Very detailed invoices that explain exactly what he does down to the t so your not left wondering what your paying for. Brought 2 RV inverters to them and they had the inverters fixed within a few days. One was actually very badly burned and we were under the impression it was beyond repair. After attempting to install ourselves it was apparent we needed some more electrically knowledgeable hands on it. Mark sent out a few of his guys (Dan and Luis I believe) and they knocked it out easily. They also found more problems that we did not know were there that had occurred during a fire. I called several other places and no one wanted to do the job -- they all kept saying it was someone else's responsibility. Needed to replace the Source Manager (inverter) in a 98 American Tradition. Found Mark on the Web, contacted him, he recommended what equipment I needed to purchase for the job, which I did purchase from him. He made sure the shipping was prompt and was delivered when promised. The issue is that I am in NW Wisconsin and Mark in Southern California. Have never met Mark, only have communicated with him through emails and phone. Mark then drafted drawings for my electrician on the conversion from old to the new inverter in the Coach. Mark was always available to me by email or phone, if I had questions. Then the day of the install, by my electrician, Mark was available to him to answer questions along the way.
