Nothing but good things to say about Mike and his team. They Just finished up at 10kw system and coordinated installation of the mounting brackets with my roofer to do it the right way as well. I appreciated how upfront they are with everything, no false promises, and handled everything from A to Z for a great price. Coordination of the inspection went like clock work, a lot of installers will say it takes a month or so to get turned on but that's only because of bad management with the contractors not getting the paperwork done. I was present when the inspector came for final sign off and stated he was happy to see such a clean job. As a general comment to anyone looking for solar and is doing a roof, don't get the roof finished and then call a solar guy. I had Rancho Solar install a 8.1kW PV system on my house in May 2014. It has been up an running now for over 5 weeks and is performing great. How awesome is to see your electric meter running backwards? I had gotten quotes from 4 other Solar installers and Rancho Solar was the most reasonable by a long shot. In addition, their standard pricing included removing all the roof tiles in the area where the panels are to be installed before installing the brackets. They then re-papered, sealed, and reset the tiles (replacing any broken ones) - essentially giving you a new roof in that area and helping ensure you won't ever need to worry about that section of roof over the lifetime of the panels. My home (and roof) is 25 years old so that was important to me. After federal tax credits, my system will pay for itself in 5 years at current electric rates (sooner if SDG&E keeps raising rates) - after that free energy for the remaining life of the panels. Now, it is fun checking the phone app every day to see how much electricity I am generating and the money I'm saving. The owner Mike, is awesome to work with - honest, no hard sell, very informative. The installation crew were also very pleasant, courteous and professional. I highly recommend Rancho Solar. read more

We are now 3-1/2 years into our Rancho Solar system and its excellent performance continues even better than expected. Even with all the cloudy dark days we've had this past winter (thank goodness for the rain!) we have generated more kWh than we've utilized since 12/4/16, and 7,370 more kWh than we've used since Mike Ganung and his great crew turned on our system on 11/1/13. That's 7,370 kWh that we've sold back to SDG&E. We are very pleased and excited with our new solar panel system. We did over a year of research and then went out to bid. Rancho Solar beat the completion on price and quality. Then the work was done and we were even happier with the installation. The workmanship is very clean and all the conduit is concealed. Several neighbors have solar panels but they have unattractive conduit, disconnects and junction boxes on sides of the house and up to the roof. We didn't want that and from the beginning, Mike said he doesn't do it like that. He pointed out some other areas of concern on my neighbors installations. Our system is performing beautifully and it's fun to monitor the performance on the internet site and phone app. We've had five or six electrical bills now and the system is producing more that we're using in our home so our bills are less than $2/month. Woo hoo! Our Edison bill shows us have many hours we are banking as we head into the hottest part of the year. It looks like we'll have a net zero over 12 months and that is great. Mike and his staff were very knowledgeable, courteous and clean. They showed up on schedule and on time, and cleaned up each day which is a big deal to us. The roofing contractor who removed and replaced the tile was also a very good craftsman and set the tile correctly. I know because I'm a certified tile roof inspector (http://tileroofing.org) .
