I'm very satisfied with HG electric!! Out of the three different opinions that we received from different electricians for our project, Greg was the only one that thought of running a new line through an existing conduit to the island of the kitchen that housed the electric stove. His idea saved us time, construction and money. Greg is professional, on time and explains everything in details. Will definitely work with him again when in need of an electrician. read more

Would recommend Greg hands down, I have been struggling with poor lighting in dining area and asked for installation of more recessed lights. He assessed the situation and found a far less expensive and invasive solution. Ethical! Super professional and kind. Will definitely be letting friends know! Thanks Greg read more

Gregory did a fantastic job installing new outlets in our bathrooms. He was professional, meticulous, and worked very efficiently. I really appreciated how careful he was throughout the installation, and he cleaned up everything thoroughly when the job was finished. The whole process was smooth and hassle-free. I would definitely recommend Gregory to anyone looking for a reliable and skilled electrician! read more

Did a good job looking over an issue I had after the AC installers wired stuff wrong. Was quick and professional. He had to run some new wires to make sure my ceiling weren't on the 240v circuit with the ac. Found a cheap easy work around that saved me money and kept my fans from burning out! read more

This is a long overdue review. We had an excellent experience with Greg. He came out to run electricity to our converted office shed, and the quality of his work was outstanding from start to finish. Everything was done cleanly, efficiently, and with great attention to detail. What really stood out was that when we had other drywall contractors come by to give us quotes, multiple people commented on how well the electrical work had been done. They were so impressed that they actually asked us for his contact information, which says a lot. We're just as impressed ourselves and would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for high-quality, professional electrical work. read more

Several weeks ago, we replaced our 15 year old dishwasher. As the installers removed the old one, they told me that we needed to have a GFI electrical outlet installed under the sink for the new washer. We called HG Electric, who had done some work for us before, but they were out of town for a few days. So I called another electrical contractor who could come out that same day. After they installed the outlet, I had the dishwasher installer come out. They installed it, and pushed the d/w start button and the GFI tripped. I called the electrical contractor and they sent the technicians back out. They poked around in the attic, and told me that the breaker panel needed to be rewired. They did it, but the GFI tripped again. They told me that they needed to rewire the wiring through the attic from the kitchen to the breaker panel for another $2500. I was uneasy since we had never had any electrical problem. Greg from HG Electric called and said that he had been out of town. I asked him to come out and verify that the kitchen needed rewiring. He came out the next day, examined the dishwasher outlet installation, the breaker panel, and climbed into the attic to examine the wiring. His diagnosis was that there was nothing wrong with the installation or the wiring. He said that the dishwasher was already on a separate circuit. We cycled the dishwasher power several times and never received another GFI fault. Greg told me that sometimes the GFI will trip for no apparent reason, and for me to reset the GFI should that occur. I have confidence in HG Electric and its owner Greg for any electrical work that we might need. read more

Gregory is possibly the best electrician who ever worked on our house in Poway. We retired here 16 years ago and he was able to help us switch from a discontinued NuTone intercom/door bell system that came with our house, to an inexpensive modern technology approach that does a far better job. It is a high tech approach to securing a home and knowing who is/was at your front door. read more

We hired Greg to install a chandelier in our 20+ ft entryway and they did a fantastic job. The install was clean, and he even helped troubleshoot a dead switch and fixed a small broken part on the fixture that wasn't their responsibility. He was professional, on time, and made sure everything was working perfectly before leaving. Very happy with the work and would definitely use them again for future electrical projects. read more

I have only great things to say about Greg and his business. He installed two light fixtures and fixed the bathroom lights at my parents home, making them feel safe. Greg was so kind to come to my house next to install our ring camera lights around our home while giving us estimates for our Rivian car charger. Immediately my husband and I knew he was experienced and we can trust his recommendations as he was honest and open. I highly recommend Greg and will use him again in the future! read more

I made a request for a quote for a service 6 days ago - specifically wanting a quote from them because they had such good reviews. Ultimately, I didn't get a quote from them in time - while many of their competitors reached out to come check out my situation and give me an estimate. Today I finally hear back from my quote request with a response of "other; unable to service." I'm pretty disappointed with them for a few reasons: 1.) it took them nearly a week to get back to me; 2.) they could have given me more info after making me wait almost a week instead of what looks like just clicking some button. It really just struck me as a company that doesn't care if they got a new customer - and to me... that seems like a company that doesn't really care if they get return business from a customer or referrals from a previous customer for good work done. It just doesn't sit right with me. read more

I would highly recommend HG Electric for any electrical work you may need. I had an issue with a circuit breaker panel at the house. When Greg initially came out, the outlets the panel was connected to suddenly started working after being down for a few days. Because of that, Greg couldn't troubleshoot and fix the problem. He didn't charge me for the visit and he let me know to notify him when the outlets were down again. He came back when the outlets were down and was able to fix the issue within 5 minutes. Greg is a knowledgeable, responsive and honest individual. I would not hesitate to call on him again for any future electrical work. read more

Greg recently ran wiring for a new higher amperage built-in oven, from the kitchen through the attic to an outside breaker panel. He carefully and neatly installed new conduit on the outside of the home in a way that minimized the visual impact of the conduit at the front of the home. He installed the required junction boxes in the kitchen, again carefully and neatly. It was a pleasure working with Greg. He was punctual, both when coming out for the free estimate and again when doing the work. Highly recommended! read more

I highly recommend Greg. We had an issue with our living room & dining room ceiling lights both not working. I described to him on the phone how it happened, and he seemed to have an idea of what the problem could be. He arrived I and gave him a quick spheel of our place and the lights. Right away he went to work on our dining room lights and within MINUTES [when I say minutes, I mean maybe 1-2 minutes. Maybe less because I was multi-tasking with work] he figured out the issue and the lights turned on. Turns out our dimmer switches were crap. Similar with our living room lights - again, it took him mere minutes and the living room lights started to flicker on again. Didn't take long at all for him to replace our switches and ensure our wires were secure sense our living room light had a loose wire as well. He was done with everything in about 40 minutes. On top of that, I appreciate him taking the time to answer all the questions I had. You can tell he's a literal expert in this field of work. Very professional, yet calm & easy demeanor which made the process even more comfortable. Many thanks to Greg! We no longer feel like we live in a dark cave. read more

Greg was very responsive and was easy to set an appointment with. He was friendly, professional, and fixed several electrical issues we were having. Greg is the man! We needed a chandelier installed in our living room which has needed illumination over the years. I went out and got quotes from previous preferred contractors, all of whom were over-priced. I started to lose hope. But then I had a friend who posted remodel work on his social media accounts. I asked him if he knew of any honest electricians with fair prices and he mentioned Greg. Texted him, made an appointment, and the rest is history. If you're looking for a licensed electrician that does clean, quality work, don't hesitate contacting H G Electric. Thanks Greg for hooking us up! read more

Want to update my review- still a 5 star! We had Greg come back and take care of upgrading our entire electrical panel. He did it in a timely fashion, updated us along the way while we waited for permits and SDG&E, and was very reasonably priced. I give HG Electric and Greg my highest recommendation. He is extremely knowledgeable, HONEST, very fair pricing, and very thoughtful on the best method for the work that needs to be done. He did a variety of electrical work in my house including installing POE security cameras, moving electrical outlets, adding recessed lights, fixing electrical lights, and installing 220V electrical charger. The drywall that had to be removed for these installations were minimal because of his experience and talent. One of the most professional contractors i have dealt with. You won't regret it. read more

I try not to write negative reviews. Greg came and did the work, but he was incredibly rude and impatient with me and my family. I have never dealt with this degree of rudeness so I feel I should tell others. He will do the work and charge a reasonable rate, but you may have to deal with a toxic personality. read more

Great experience with HG Electric! Greg replaced the ballast in a recessed light that had gone bad in our kitchen, swapped out two old outdoor recessed lights with newer LED lights, and worked with me to debug a bad timer switch that was controlling our exterior garage lights that I didn't not know about. Very much appreciate his professionalism, quality of work, timeliness and communication. We'll have HG Electric back for our next project, and I highly recommend! read more

Five stars for honesty and ethics I called thinking that I had a major electrical issue going on with my home, after talking through the issue with Greg, he told me what he thought it was, which was literally a 10 second fix on my end, that as an untrained individual, I would've never figured out. Many would have came out, troubleshot it, fixed it, and charged me a few hours of labor, or even worse. Full marks for this company read more

Greg quoted me a fair price and then he did the unimaginable....told me a time he would arrive instead of the bs "windows" many use and then showed up exactly on time. I needed two ceiling fans installed, a challenging task since my house doesn't have an attic or crawlspace. He installed them and then his price came in under the estimate. Can't get better than that and he didn't totally destroy my walls and ceilings. All went perfectly. VERY highly recommended....continues to be my go to electrician and will for the foreseeable future. Couldn't ask for better service and quality. An extremely skillful and personable electrician. He diagnosed the problem and completed the job in no time.

Greg and HG Electric team are the BEST! Greg went above and beyond (x10) in helping us get our new home setup and fixing numerous things we needed to have done. The list was long but to name a few: we had 2 fans put in with wall remotes, every outlet (plate and receptacle) in the house changed, power updated for a fridge, stove and hood we had replaced. He fixed every bathroom fan and light in all 3 bathrooms and hallway lights. Plus lots of outside outlets and GFCIs we needed in the kitchen and backyard. Really, the list goes on and on. He even made sure to note where we needed an additional fire/smoke detector and offered to put that in (but we are having home security system come and they will provide that additional detector) and he made sure that all of our outlets were child proof too! Greg and team also put up 2 flush-mounted lights for us (in a dining area) that I purchased on the internet and once the lights were up I realized were too small, so he kindly took them down and he will be returning to hang the new larger ones (and a 3rd fan) once those have arrived. There's no one else I'll ever call for electrical work. read more

Greg was awesome. He promptly answered my first call, and scheduled an appointment for the same afternoon.
