(Turns out it was an easy fix, but outside of my knowledge base.) I got three estimates for the next project I had, and these guys weren't the cheapest, but they did come across as the most competent. Mari gave me a 2 hour window that Doug would show up to provide an estimate. I pushed out a few work meetings and left early to meet him at my house. He never showed. He called me 30 mins after the window to let me know that "he left me hanging". Yeah, I know. No apology and zero effort to even make it out. Further, he let me know that he would be sending me an invoice for the estimate immediately... huh? He wanted to charge me $200 ($100 off for no-showing) for an estimate that I didn't receive. I pushed back on that nonsense and he offered to do the estimate for free like it was a favor. If there is a minimum charge for a visit, you need to let people know up front, Mari. They were paid to rewire the house. Every time we open a wall, we find a mess they left behind. In this particular instance, they ran romex through the j-box and tied it to the original wire that was supposed to be removed and replaced. They made this connection just above the box. Totally unsafe and illegal. Later they had a drywall patch guy come back and he used 2 1/2 inch screws and put two of them through the wires. As a result the j-box is hot. This company is a total mess. They were a mess to work with, and I'm paying to have messes left behind fixed. read more

Great service, my 1973 panel was upgraded, and extra cables were added throughout the condo. Some drywall damage occurred where access to the cables was necessary, so if you're not prepared to handle the repairs yourself, make sure to have a drywall contractor ready to patch and match. Austin provided a prompt estimate and was readily available to address any questions. His efficiency made the selection process easier, especially considering others contractors either failed to send an estimate or took too long to respond. The only issue we encountered was with the additional kitchen cable; the white cover was not properly secured in the socket and had popped out along with the box. I'm guessing this occurred because the hole made was a bit large. I had to undo the work, readjust the wires, and reinstall the electrical box and cover to ensure a snug fit. Overall I'm happy with the work that was done and I'll be calling them for any future electric upgrades/repairs. Thanks! read more

I started with looking for quotes and Electrical Insight is the only company that offered to call for an estimate. All others wanted to come and look which of course would have been uncomfortable if I didn't like their estimate. The estimate they gave me was extremely fair and itemized for my convenience. Austin came right on time and did quick quality work. He advised on how to add outlets with minimal wall damage and in some cases no damage at all! Our garage GFCI switch broke on Father's Day and we had no hot water. I contacted Austin and he came out within an hour and had it fixed in 20 minutes. We were so relieved and grateful! The final price was lower than what he initially quoted us and was so reasonable for emergency service on a weekend. I've lived in a condo for over six years where I inherited an old chandelier that never worked.
