SJS Handyman - My new TV mounted & ready to enjoy! - Handyman Near Me - San Marcos, California

Scott did an amazing job with multiple tasks around my house today and was very professional and efficient. Reasonably priced. I guess the only negative thing is he is so popular and so busy. I had to wait a month for him to come out here and do the chores, but they've been laying around forever and I'm so glad that I chose him. Definitely will use him again for any other stuff that comes up. He did removal of old alarm boxes and spackling, cabinet drawer repair, and some weatherstripping as well. read more

The best. Got me up and running with my garbage disposal on Memorial Day. I am almost out of range of his service area, and he was booked and busy for the next few weeks, but he responded quickly and was sympathetic to my situation.. He is more than reasonable pricewise. I paid him extra. More than worth it. read more

Scott was excellent! He responded very quickly to my request for an estimate and was able to get us scheduled for the work so fast. We had a pretty fast timetable that needed to be accomplished, and he really stepped up. We needed to have a side yard fenced off, and a dog door dropped into a closet. He was responsive, the work he did looked amazing, and I would recommend him to anyone. We are definitely gonna use him for any of our needs in the future. He was worth every penny! read more

Scott has done great work around our home. His work is clean and precise. We have had out door lighting and indoor recessed lighting done. We are very happy with all of the completed projects! read more

Not taking new clients - reached out and the response was a lackluster "I don't have time". At the moment I am requesting a lot of quotes via Yelp for movers, handymen, drywall specialists, door specialists etc. All companies are thoughtful, quick to provide feedback, and share why they may or may not be able to service a request. SJS Handyman was referred to me by my neighbors in my townhome complex, and figured I'd reach out. Unfortunately there was a curt response, and when asked for specifics regarding why it was unable to service, there was absolutely no response until this review was posted. Customer service matters just as much as services performed. read more

Scott was easy to communicate with and get scheduled. He was professional and got to work quickly and did a great job repairing some holes in the wall, fixing some loose closet shelves, installing new shelves, fixing a loose gutter, fixing a misplaced roof tile, and other misc maintenance I needed. I will work with him again! read more

I found Scott on Yelp and I'm always happy to write a positive review to "pay it forward" for the next individual who takes the time to read past reviews when hiring someone to perform a service for them. First of all, Scott immediately responded to my online request through Yelp to hang some shelves in my garage. Huge plus these days that someone actually responds! He was booked out for a couple of weeks but my job wasn't urgent and I told him I didn't mind waiting based on his past positive reviews. Instead of giving me a vague response like "I'll get back to you", we actually set a date and time to install them when he was available next. He showed up as scheduled, even in the pouring rain, and did a great job at a reasonable price. Great communication, reliable, and quality workmanship. I will definitely use his services again. read more

I have always said knowing a great handyman is essential - like a great lawyer or accountant. Scott has truly raised the bar and is a "craftsman" with his attention to detail and professional attitude. We are DELIGHTED with his work - at a reasonable cost. I would not hesitate to recommend him and suggest you contact him directly to get that your handyman project off your list. read more

After a year and a half of living in our house, we'd accumulated a few small jobs that we wanted to take care of: - Fixing a door that wouldn't close properly. - Stripped screw in a dryer that prevented us from swapping the orientation of the door. - Washer that was off balance and would move around. - Garbage disposal replacement. We happened to see Scott's truck while out for dinner one night and after seeing all of the positive reviews here, decided to hire him. And now here's another positive review for him! Nothing too elaborate to say; he was on-time, friendly, and quick to handle all of the work we had queued up for him. Given his range of skills, we'll definitely be hiring him again once we have another handful of items ready to go. Thanks again Scott! :) read more

Outstanding. Scott does great work and is super efficient and knowledgable, also a great guy. My wife and I called him for one thing and he fixed like 6 other things we sprung on him at the last minute with no stress, no flinch. Cannot offer a stronger recommendation read more

Scott did a fantastic job installing a three-panel flat curtain system in a laundry area, as well as custom-fitting a dryer's vent tube so the dryer aligned more cleanly within its nook. In addition to installing numerous curtain rods and cutting exterior wires for safety, Scott was a pleasure to work with, a good problem-solver and finished ahead of schedule. Recommended. read more

Scott came in on time, respected we had a little one and took his shoes off inside. He installed shelving for us in three different locations. I found SJS Handyman on yelp and again was more than pleased with the recommendation. I called Scott about hanging my 65" LG TV and Sound Bar. He was booked about a week out... but I'm glad I waited for his availability. He showed up right on time and went straight to work. He is very fastidious and careful. He measured twice on everything... and used painters tape to mark walls as opposed to pencil marks. He was very careful to not get Drywall dust on anything and when he left there was no mess to clean up at all. He is familiar with Audio and Video set ups and hooked everything back up just as he had found it. Since this is the focus of attention in our great room... he was very very careful to get everything level and spaced just perfectly. My wife and I are very impressed with not only his professionalism but with his work ethic and attention to detail. I will use him regularly when I need assistance around the house. I recommend him highly. He actually got this completed totally in just under one hour and his fees are right in line with his excellence. Great Handyman! read more

I've hired Scott many times over the last 4 years. He is always in time and accommodating. He is a professional and is knowledgeable. He can give a suggestion about almost anything about your home. He has installed my Ring cameras, fixed doors and locks, hanged pictures, installed my fire alarm, fixed lighting, and the list goes on. He also takes Venmo or credit card. He deserves every one of these 5 stars! He's good at his job, and so he's always busy. read more

We found SJS (Scott) here in Yelp and are very pleased with the whole experience. From working out the scheduling, to being able to dialogue with him on different aspects of the job regularly leading up to the actual job. He was efficient and focused. His understanding of what needed to be done was clear from the start. He respected our home and took extra care to limit his impact. All these things and more convinced us he was the professional we'd hoped to find. The job: He cut away a large section of a wall mounted wood railing and finished the area very nicely. And he installed a temporary door in an area where a door never existed... very creatively. We will hire him again. read more

This was our second time using Scott's services and we had a great experience again! Scott installed curtain rods and curtains over 3 windows, hung up several pictures and wall decor pieces, repaired a drawer and fixed and painted damaged drywall patches all in under 2 hours. He is extremely meticulous and has great attention to detail. He communicates well over Yelp and is professional and on time. He was very covid safe and wore a mask the whole time and was extremely courteous. He is a pleasure to work with! read more

I've called Scott twice for service and both times he has been efficient and fast in both diagnosing the issue and fixing it. He is definitely one of the best contractors I have dealt with (I have been doing a lot of home projects recently). First time was to install a door handle for the garage and fix the alignment of two interior doors. Second time to fix the the alignment of the front door (that has a commercial grade deadbolt) and fix alignment of outdoor gates. read more

Scott is like a home project miracle worker; he comes in and--efficiently and seemingly effortlessly--manages to accomplish all sorts of tasks in under an hour. He is very easy to work with and does a great job on every project. When hanging pictures, he'll even take care to measure that the painting is not only level but perfectly centered on the wall. Looking forward to having him install our new television in the future as that is one of his specialities; however, he truly is great at accomplishing any task around the house. read more

I cannot say enough good things about these guys. I had Scott, help me twice, first during in 2015 and again 2019. And was very happy every time. Both were very competent and willing to take on my challenging tasks. Scott SJS Handyman TV Installs do great work! We hired him to install a wall-mounted large 3 flat screen TV and he did an excellent job. This company is professional, polite, fast, clean, and I will recommended SJS Handyman to several friends and clients. Price was beyond reasonable. Beyond his work, he is a genuine guy with a great attitude. We had awesome conversation and it was truly a pleasure working with him. If you want the job done right with top quality, these are your guys. Keep up the great work Scott. read more

We bought a 70" Vizio television and a jumbo hanging bracket at Costco, intending to install the TV over our fireplace. After reading the instructions we decided there was no way we could install this ourselves. I found Scott through Yelp and, as other reviewers have stated, I had to wait for an opening in his schedule, about two-and-a-half weeks. After looking through the photos of his previous installations, I decided it would be worth it. Scott arrived on time to the minute. To get the job done he installed an outlet above the mantel and ran all the cables through the wall to the cabinet holding the receiver, Roku, and DVD player. He left no mess and tested the installation to make sure everything worked. The price was very fair. My hubby was concerned that I had hired someone who wouldn't do a good job, but he was very impressed when he came home and inspected it. I definitely recommend Scott. He's a real pro. read more

Scott is prompt and professional! He quickly responded to my inquiry and after I texted over a few pics to him he accepted the job and was able to come over quickly. It was only a small job of hanging some shelves and replacing some lights. However, I feel very lucky to have found Scott.
