We met Ted Figart, and later Mark at our (project) home to discuss the needed work and estimated cost of repairs. We were impressed by their knowledgeable, professional demeanor. After six quotes we went with Mark Anthony not because of the price it was not the lowest. That is not always good but a lot of other things. One of the other contractor quotes gave us a lot of disclaimers that said we are not responsible for broken sidewalks or air conditioning. What it did have in the contract was a unconditional lien release upon final payment and that is something we wanted. The project manager Ted Figart got right back to us after asking for a quote. After reviewing all the quotes, I sent Ted another quote and he matched it. They replaced not only the roof but also all of the fascia around the house that was eaten away by termites. The whole job that was just finished Thursday was done in two and a half days by six great people. I could tell the people who came to our house were working for Mark Anthony for a long time because they did not have new t-shirts on them when they came from the company. I never would have known that the solar people left so many broken tiles on my new roof if Mark Anthony hadn't come back to check it out. Their workmen are tidy and there is no mess left at the end of the day. The workers will stay beyond the end if the work day if necessary to clean up. I am remiss in not recommending Mark Anthony sooner. In March of 2018 they replaced my roof and did a beautiful (and quick) job. In December 2022, I was installing solar panels and Mark Anthony came out to do the roof penetrations so my warranty would stay intact. I replaced my roof in Poway, CA in January and I would like to say I was impressed with the roofing job Mark Anthony's team completed on my roof. The roof I had was an old tile roof that was done years ago and poorly done. Mark's team removed the old roof and found that wood had to be replaced, and some wood was missing that had to be installed. I verified that this was true and didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of. All the wood was replaced and some wood around the frame of our home. We had two leaking areas in our home. I was thankful Mark Anthony Roofing was able to get this done in a timely manner because it was the rainy season. We had the roof replaced with shingles that has a great warranty and good references. I am one who has anxiety about hiring people to work in my home and Mark came to our home with an honest, relaxing attitude and explained everything in detail. I did not feel pressured at all. Researched contractors to reroof my mother's 1960 home. Had (7) come out. Immediately narrowed that to two, based on who we met and their professionalism. Mark Anthony wowed us with his referral list, experience, and bid. He fully disclosed the house had signs of significant wood damage (termites, dry rot). He provided us with an a la carte price list for lumber, to account for replacement cost as needed. 30 years of deferred maintenance had caught up with the structure. After a week, my mother has a rock solid new roof (both shingle and torch-down), insulation over rooms that previously has none, and a significant amount of new lumber (rafters, rafter tails, fascia boards, OSB ply). I selected Mark Anthony to completely replace the tile roof on a home I purchased this year and could not be more pleased. It was a fairly large job (approx 5,000 sq ft) and they did it all flawlessly. Although they were not the lowest bid, their level of service and quality of work was exceptional and their bid was quite reasonable. The work needed to be completed in a fairly tight timeframe before my solar panels were installed. Ted, the Mark Anthony rep that provided the bid and followed the job to completion, was very knowledgeable, incredibly helpful throughout the entire process and was a pleasure to work with. The other contractors had said that it would take a month to order and get the tile due to inventory shortages. Ted went above and beyond and worked with the local Eagle Tile rep to find tiles that were in stock that would meet our needs and get them delivered much quicker than any of the other contractors said was possible. The crew that performed the installation were all employees (no subs), were obviously all highly skilled at their roles, were meticulous about and took pride in their work, were friendly and courteous, cleaned up at the end of each day and worked well as a team. We first worked with Mark Anthony Construction and Roofing in 2014. Mark came out and spoke to me like a customer without any condensation. His bid was higher than the other 3 we received, but his manner and the warranty is what made us go with him. After signing the contract, we had a rainstorm and the roof started to leak. Mark sent a crew over to cover the area so there wouldn't be more damage. It was awesome. During the same time as the roof, we were adding solar. Mark and Alex worked with the solar crew to facilitate the installation so no downtime would occur and so the solar crew wouldn't void the warranty. His crew was amazing, even covering our pool so no debris would get inside. They worked fast and efficiently. Our experience then was so good that we called on them to replace the roof at my dad's. A true 5 star company. You can tell by the professionalism of the employees and how much care they take with your property. They surveyed the property before starting and each employee had been fully briefed on what was to be accomplished every day. They knew exactly what was next and there was no standing around. We chose MA because they had great reviews from their references and the various websites that we checked. The clincher was we needed some skylights replaced and in the process of working with that vendor we quizzed him about the best roofers in our area figuring that he had direct experience. He unequivocally said that Mark Anthony was the Best Roofer in our area. We then made the decision to hire Mark and his team and never looked back. MA partnered with us every step of the way on our project. They were extremely professional, organized and worked as a coordinated team in preparation of the roof including working with two separate companies who were responsible for dismantling of our solar and water solar panels. The logistics of preparing for the start date was carefully coordinated around the production delivery of the skylights. The real pleasure of this job was the MA crews who were sent to work on our home. Not only were they all friendly and professional but they worked together as an integrated team. In the initial phase of the project, there was a 10-person crew who removed all the tile paper and wood that needed to be replaced. Jose, who was in charge, was meticulous about the crew's work productivity as well as making sure that our surrounding property was not adversely affected. This company is top shelf all the way. The price was great never over or understated any scope of the work.licenced bonded insured so no way an employee could ever sue you for an injury. Never tried to bypass the permit/inspection (saving a few hundred at the costs of a bad job not worth it) which passed with flying colors. The inspector even made the comment that its look like the house is new. And it does. Every day they were here at the end of the day you couldn't tell they were ever here. No trash left behind.
