We have a flat roof and we used Dils Roofing. Josh worked up the quote with drone photos and measurements. We went with the Duro-last product. Dils roofing has an awesome system for unloading and loading gear as the job needs at different stages. Even a truck crane to set stuff up on roof. We couldn't be happier with Dils and their entire crew. read more

Terrible! Tried to get an estimate for a new roof. They sent out an unqualified employee (Chris G.) who said he would send me the estimate in a few days. Waited and waited - nothing. Spoke to office, they said it's coming. Still nothing! After 2 weeks...moved on. read more

I love love love them!! Besides being very professional they are very patient and explain what we didn't understand!! They came out very quickly and they did an amazing job!!! DILS Roofing has a spectacular team of professionals from inside the office to outside on the job site! I value their hard work, time and dedication to every detail. Armando Guttierez is one of the nicest guys you can meet. Always greets you with a smile when you walk into the office. Every phone call, text and email is positive and direct. We are satisfied 35-year repeat customers. If you want a great roof, installed meticulously, including any necessary associated carpentry and borate termite protection, call Dils. We did experience a cost overrun, but we were warned early in the process, and the reason was clearly stated, itemized, and fully logical/defensible. The crew was remarkably accommodating and easy to work with and left the jobsite clean every night at quitting time. The end result looks great and "undoes" years of termite and rot damage. read more

I have used Dils for roofing and solar and have been very happy. From the initial call with their Office Manager, Christina, to getting the roof inspected and solar quote with Josh, everything went very smoothly and on the timeline that was given. Josh is super easy to work with and thorough in answering all of my questions. I can't recommend this company enough. The quality of their work is top notch, clean up is great, pricing is very competitive, and you'll be dealing with some really great people! read more

Super honest and informative. All points of contact were kind, respectful and professional. Glad to have found a reputable roofer.

We are in process of buying our first home and hired Dils Roofing to help us with our roof inspection and wow - we are so impressed! As first time home buyers, this process has been overwhelming but they walked us through every part of the process and made us feel included and answered all of our questions! Their knowledge is extensive and they were very professional and timely as they were able to inspect the roof and provide us with an extensive report with quality pictures within 24 hours. When we had follow up questions, they made everything easy to understand and offered the best prices for the work. They also educated us on solar should we choose to do that in the future. We look forward to continuing to work with Dils Roofing for all of our roofing needs and would recommend that you do too! Thank you so much!! read more

Armando helped us a ton. Now my wife will stop naggin me about this damn leak Great service!

Omg the fking service here was amazingg!! Thank you Armando, I couldn't have asked for having such an experienced tech.

Dil's replaced my roof 5 years ago just before I bought the house. Since then I have had a couple of leaks during heavy rains. Adrian has repaired both leaks in a timely manner. Turns out the leaks were not my roof but runoff from the site where my house connects to another. This is due to non maintenance from my HOA. Dil's did not charge me for the work. Ryan called after the work was done just to follow up on the job. They provided me with before and after photos for my records. I have recommended Dil's to my neighbors who have also had a positive experience. I have only praise for this company. read more

GREAT QUALITY WORK - EVERYTHING ELSE VERY POOR Starting with the positives, they do great work paying attention to detail. They replaced a lot of bad wood we had from dry rot and termite damage. Replaced a lot of broken tiles and ultimately giving us a good roof we feel confident it will last us 35 plus years. They also cleaned up all around the house each day before leaving with the exception of the very last day when their electrical guy was here finishing reconnecting our solar system. The problems that contributed only giving them two stars are multiple frustrating issues from the start to the end of the process getting our good quality roof. 1. Our house is a two story house with almost 1900 square feet. So the roof structure isn't that massive. Our salesperson Chris said at the start the project shouldn't take more than 1-1/2 weeks to finish with normally four guys each day assigned to projects this size. The project took 3 weeks and one day. The project would have taken even longer if my wife and I didn't start pressuring them after 2 weeks. 2. Most days the crew consisted of only two guys. There were only four or more guys on a total of four days during the whole project. Called the Operations Manager Armando during the project on many days that he only had two guys working and the answer was always the same, that guys called in sick and one guy was consistantly having car problems and not able to come to work. 3. The guys were supposed to start each day around 8am, but most days they didn't show up until 8:20am and get started around 8:30am. They all would take 1-1/2 hour lunches. Start cleaning up at 4:30pm and leave for the day at 5pm. Fridays they only worked half days and left at 12:30pm. This adds up to only 32 hour weeks. I called Ryan the General Manager/Owner expressing my above concerns. Ryan was appreciative of me sharing my concerns and stated that they aren't known to be the quickest roofing company but they are a high quality in workmanship roofing company and assured me when it is done that I will have a roof that will last 35 plus years. 4. In the process of reinstalling and connecting my solar system, they discovered they had damaged some connecting parts that must have happened when they removed the system. Thankfully, all the solar panels were okay. This was on a Friday and I called the Operations Manager Armando to find out what he was going to do since the solar people left for the day. I mentioned I wanted it finished by Monday. Come Monday no one showed up. Called Armando again and he gave me the impression he completely forgot our conversation last Friday and thought everything was done. He said he would call his solar guy and get back with me. He called later and said he would not be out until Thursday and arrive around 9am. I wasn't happy because this added to more days without generating electricity. Come Thursday, no solar guy by 9:20am. I called Armando again. He said he had to call his guy and get back with me. Armando called back and said his guy got delayed at the supplier warehouse and will be at our house around 10am to 10:30am. He didn't arrive until about 12 noon. He finished around 3pm with installing the last solar panel and all the connections. I got on the roof a few days later and discovered old electrical boxes, connecters, cut wires, and a general mess left on the roof by the solar guy. Definitely not acceptable, but decided to clean it up myself because I didn't want to have to deal with someone to come back and wanted to be just done with it and move on. So, as a result, I do feel I have a good quality new roof. However, experienced a lot of frustrations that the whole project took much longer than it should have. There are hundreds of roofing companies out there and I'm sure can provide the same quality roof, but Dils would not be my recommendation. read more

Josh of Dils roofing spoke to me today in regards to leaking from the skylight. He responded quickly with 3 options. And I was not pressured to choose any of them and Josh spoke in a calm and professional way not trying to upsell me. I recommend Dils Roofing and ask for Josh. read more

My parents met in San Diego in 1990 and the only thing still in tact from their marriage is the roofing on their first house, thanks to Dils Roofing!! They are so thorough and I was surprised by how quickly and effective their work was in getting all the leaks and broken shingling taken care of. Ryan is very nice and such a pleasure to work with. Honestly, I wish I would need to work with them again soon but I think this roof will be good for another 30 years. read more

We had a very positive experience with Dils Roofing. About 6 months ago we got a bid for a new asphalt shingle roof. We worked with Ryan and found him friendly, helpful, and prompt. As can happen, the bid was revised a few times upward as new problems were uncovered. But once the work was complete, we had a neat and tidy yard and a home with a good new roof. When we noticed an area that needed more touch up, someone came out to fix the problem the very next day. read more

Responsible, professional, and a great job! We needed extensive wood repair due to termite damage, the entire roof repapered, a large section of tile replaced, and to have everything coordinated with a new solar installer. I would definitely recommend this great family owned and operated company! read more

We only have positives to say about this company & team. We needed to fix our (leaky) roof-- a huge job. The Dils Roofing team was very professional, hard working, and courteous. At the end of each (long and hot summer) day they never failed to thoroughly clean the area around the house. A five-star service! read more

Had to have my roof replaced this year with all the rain exposing several leaks. I researched companies and sought advisement and bids from five of them. All were close in price range. While Dils was not the cheapest, I chose Dils Roofing based on their responsiveness, completeness of items covered and materials in bid, overall reviews on several rating sites on final job performance and being fairly local to me. I was not disappointed. My job was scheduled within expectations and completed quickly as scheduled. The roofers conducted themselves professionally and performed quality work. Dils also worked with me to reduce some costs by repairing vs. replacing some wood. Overall, I'm happy with results and would hire them again. read more

Dils roofing was a pleasure to work with on the job, crew cleaned up after them selves daily -even bringing out a metal detector at the end of the day to collect any nails. We had Dils roofing replace our wooden shingles with concrete tiles and also some flat roof that had developed leaks some years ago, our house has not had a drop of water inside since. They stuck to the scheduled dates and did quality work. That has generally been the exception, rather than the rule, for work I have contracted on our house. Recently we had our house tented and some tiles were broken in the process. Dils came out and installed them for a very reasonable price. Friendly people, quality work and a local company; I highly recommend them. read more

We highly recommend DILS roofing. We obtained proposals from 5 other prominent roofing companies to have our existing lightweight concrete tile removed and replaced with fiberglass shingles, we also had some flat areas re-roofed with PVC roll roofing. DILS was very responsive, met all of our project requirements, was in line with other proposals we received, and were easy to work with from start to finish. Change orders for additional repairs were IAW the terms of the contract, and processed in a timely manner. DILS also worked well with our solar installer so the solar installation was seamless. We had a few minor follow-up issues with the skylight installation, but I simply placed a call to DILS, and they were on it and corrected the issue within a day. Everybody we interacted with at DILS were very helpful and friendly. We are very pleased with our new roof and would highly recommend to family and friends. read more

We have lived in our home for 35 yrs. and we knew we had been pushing our luck on leaks. Called Dils roofing and a very nice and very professional Ryan Dils came out to give us an estimate. The roofers came to start the work and were very good at their job. They worked quickly and efficiently (in the heat) and each day they cleaned up the debris and dust that invariably accompanies getting a new roof. Now we don't have to worry about any future problems with a aging roof. I would definitely recommend Dils Roofing to anyone. Hopefully that nice Ryan Dils will come to give you an estimate too. read more

Have used Dils since 1985. They are extremely knowledgeable, well versed in various forms of roofing and repairs. Unfortunately, several times, they have had to repair failures in roof design from different developers that lead to significant leaks. Most recently, we had water pouring out of many electrical items (i.e., ceiling speakers, wall outlets, et al). Water and electricity don't mix, so we were anxious to get it addressed. Their crew was clean, prompt, thorough and their estimator made the options clear. I wouldn't hesitate to include them in consideration for your next project. read more

Our experience with Dils Roofing has been extraordinary. After 3 bad experiences from 3 different companies over the years I thought that's just how all of them are but Dils has proven the opposite. The management was professional and upfront of what to expect time and cost wise and the crew that came out to reroof our 30 year old home was polite and respectful and worked diligently until the work was done. Their work was top notch and everything that was promised was done. They kept us informed and sent us photos on the repairs and replacement of wood that was rotting and removed an old solar panel system. The entire experience was wonderful!! I highly recommend this company and if they have to schedule you a few months out, they are worth 100% worth the wait.!!! read more

We've trusted Dils Roofing with our roofing needs since 2006, and they live up to their motto of doing the job right the first time. Dils Roofing work Our Roof has had a few leaks over the years and this last January when it rained hard for a couple of days, we had some serious leaks that required a pan to catch the water. We decided to install solar and it was necessary to ensure the roof would be ready, so we had the roof repaired and installed new underlayment in preparation for the solar project The roofing work was quoted (after an initial visit by the Owner, Ryan Dils) at a fair price (we obtained bids from 6 roofers) and all additional work for wood replacement was clearly communicated and justified. There was a fair amount of wood damage from water and termites that needed to be replaced. From what I can determine on my own without going up on the roof, all seems to be complete (the crew did a good job and were very diligent--Luis and his partner were great and their superintendent monitored the work). The roofing work was completed in a very detailed and thorough manner and I am happy with the end result. The owner, Ryan is very knowledge and was helpful throughout the entire project ensuring that work was initiated and completed on time and he personally communicated details with me via email and telephone as necessary . read more

Avoid! They had to re-work and patch portions of the roof 3 times. These clowns fell through my roof and ceiling - then they sent a guy to repair the ceiling that made it look like a water balloon. Then a poor guy cut his hand and left blood on my patio, hose, gate, walls - gross. Months and months of burden- avoid! And they left nails and debris in the yard. Thanks for the rubbish in my flower pots, clowns! read more

We had a roof leak in our old beach home and Dils Roofing was recommended by another roofing professional we knew. The waitlist was quite long ~1 month as we were in the middle of frequent storm season. Dils was responsive and stayed in contact throughout the process. They also came out to install a temporary covering to tide us over storm season. The first repair still had a minor issue, so they came out again and fixed it once and for all. They were honest and guaranteed their work. I highly recommend Dils and would use them again for future roof repairs. read more

Dils Roofing replaced our roof in 2004. We have had no problems with our roof since then. The installation was expert and the materials superb. We just had our roof inspected to see if we need to replace any tiles and Ryan found no broken tiles. This amazing as we have our skylights cleaned twice a year and we have had our house tented for termites and neither of these caused any damage to our roof tiles. Because our roof is 14 years young we asked to have the seals on our flanges and roof caps checked and repaired as needed. All we needed was a bit of construction grade adhesive reapplied, which is something that should be done every 5 to 8 years. Ryan was very knowledgeable, skilled, efficient and helpful. I cannot praise the quality of Dils services and products. We can now rest assured that our roof will protect our home from the elements. All the roof is sealed to prevent any curious rodents from entering our home. Dils is the kind of contractor you dream of finding. Excellent product and services at a fair price with timely and conscientious response to questions and follow up service . Dils is here for the long hall and places customers first. read more

I know from a fair amount of personal experience that good and reliable roofers are hard to come by. Many have the reputation of taking shortcuts and delivering fast, but sloppy work that unsuspecting homeowners often have no way of judging. Dils was recommended to me by my contractor as one of the best and most reliable roofing companies (he has worked with many, and has settled permanently on Dils). I was not let down: Ryan and his staff were exceptionally helpful, informative, and friendly. His crew was impressively professional - both quick and meticulous, especially when it came to flashing the roof properly, which so many roofers cheat on or simply get wrong! They did the whole job in a matter of 4 days during the recent heat wave. They never complained and were a pleasure to work with -- incredibly industrious and accurate, and always friendly. They not only did a great job installing my roof, but also did a fantastic job with the carpentry, priming & painting (all of my facia and many rafter tails required replacement). I could have paid a little less, or a little more, but I am convinced no one could match the quality of this work! read more

I had used Dil Roofing at my previous home. They did a good job, so when I moved and discovered I have some leaking issues at my new place I called them. They were booked up a few months out, so I knew I would have to wait. I thought about going with another company just to get it done sooner, but since I knew they did good work I decided to waited. It was a long wait, because they had to reschedule me two times. 5 months later I have a new roof. They took longer than expected, but I now have a nice roof. If I need another roof job I will call them again. I didn't give them 5 stars only because of the long wait. However, I consider a busy company a good sign, it's just a bummer when it happens to you and it's pouring down rain, luckily San Diego doesn't get much rain! read more

I knew I needed a new roof but was nervous about how much it was going to cost and how to find a trustworthy roofing company. A friend had recommended Dils Roofing to me so I gave them a call and they meet with me the same day to inspect my roof. Everyone was friendly and the job was completed promptly just in time for an upcoming rain. I couldn't be happier with the work and would highly recommend Dils Roofing after my experience. read more
