Andy and team have reroofed two homes for us, both "vintage." Our primary home built in 1890 and added onto five times since posed some challenges. Andy worked with us, finding "new ways to carve the turkey." We followed his advice, with some personal check-ins from Andy, in modifying the roof to prevent the water from getting through as it had been for over 100 years. We now have a sound, attractive, and waterproof roof. The value? Great. Andy spent significant time helping us prepare the roof. His team worked very efficiently in stripping out the old and installing the new in short order. This included sections that had to be hot roofed. You will not find a nicer and sincere person to roof your home. The newer home from 1962 with open beam ceilings has a rare intermittent drip. Andy recently came out and discussed the probability that it is from condensation. He explained how and gave me some googling homework to learn in depth how this can happen. I will have Andy and team do the work, ridgeline and soffit vents. I am confident that it will be done well and at a reasonable cost. read more

Brown Roofing did a repair to a flat part of the roof 3 years ago and everything from the quote to completion of the repair was very professional. Now the 25 year shingles on the pitched part of the roof are 26 years old, and since the house is a rental and vacant it was a good time to replace the entire roof. Once again Andy and his crew did a fantastic job including replacing a small amount of termite and dry rot damaged wood. The back part of the house with the flat roof doesn't have an attic and he put plastic down on the carpet to catch the debris from removing the old roof. He provided before & after pictures and left the place cleaner than when they started. I decided to replace the gutters and Andy painted the fascia at no extra cost since he didn't have to re-attach them. read more

Brown roofing replaced the roof on my apartment building recently. I am very happy with the work they did for me. My tenants were also very pleased with the professionalism of Andy and his roofers, and actually contacted me to express their happy experience. As he promised, the week-long job was done with little disruption to the daily life of the tenants. I was happy to find the job site was left clean each day, and nobody had to deal with loud music, profane language or smoking by the workers. The flat roof is beautiful, includes two drains to eliminate the pooling of water that used to happen, and it was finished just before the heavy rains. Andy has since gone back to check on the job, and make sure everything is water-tight. I want Andy to do the next job at another rental property of mine as soon as he can get to it. Brown roofing is always very busy, because a company this good is in high demand, but they are worth the wait. read more

The Brown Roofing foreman and crew did a fantastic job, lots of communication about noise and time expectations, cleaned up the job site everyday, they wore masks and were very professional. They had creative solutions to make an existing flat roof drain better. We ended up having them replace some wood siding on the front of the house and the cost was minimal and the work quality was excellent - surprise bonus to a great job done. Very happy with the job and product 2.5 months later, no leaks or issues during the last rain storm. We had some old worn out non-functional solar panels on our roof that needed to be removed. I called Brown Roofing and 2 other roofing companies. The other roofers did not return my call. Andy called back within 5 minutes and scheduled an appointment the next day to come out and give an estimate. He arrived exactly when he said he would and gave us a very reasonable estimate. We scheduled the job and he and his crew arrived promptly and completed the job in the specified time. They removed the old solar panels and replaced the tiles under the panels as well as removing the remaining piping in the garage. Andy from Brown Roofing did an excellent job repairing and actually upgrading the waterproofing treatment on our tile roof about a month ago. Shortly after some very heavy rain, wind and hail, we discovered a roof leak that caused water damage in the ceiling of our master bathroom. We called Andy after reading good reviews about his company. Andy came out within a couple of days and did a thorough inspection of the roof. He identified the cause of the leak--blockage and buildup of water around a chimney. The blockage was due to birds dropping seeds and other debris over several years. He repaired the damage, upgrading the treatment around the chimney with a "cricket" and fixed other weak spots left by our original builder. His price was reasonable, and he and his crew were efficient, careful and safety-minded. They finished the job promptly, before another storm was due. We have no more leaks. Turned out the source was in one of the "valleys" in the roof surface so we had them pull tiles in all such areas and lay new base materials to prevent further leaks in the future. Our tract home was built 30 years ago. The original roof was done by idiots. Half of the tiles were not nailed down, there was no metal flashing anywhere and the black paper was disintegrating. When we started to have leaks around a skyight I looked for a roofer to repair it. Since Brown roofing was local I contacted them and Andy came out to look at the roof. He told me it would cost $2000 to repair it but that eventually the whole roof would need to be replaced. He installed a new skylight and repaired the area to our satisfaction. Some years later we had a termite inspection and the inspector told us there was rot on the plywood under the roof and we noticed mold in some areas. We had several quotes for a new roof and choose to go with Brown Roofing based on our previous experience, their responsiveness in providing the quote and answering questions and a reasonable price. Andy was very patient with us as it took us about six months to get a loan and decide on the tile. The old concrete tile was hideous looking and we wanted to go with clay tile but when Andy gave us a quote it was out of our budget. I found another manufacturer of clay tile and asked Andy to get a quote from them and it was several thousand dollars less so we decided to go with it. They worked on the roof over a period of several weeks, they didn't rush anything and had pride in their work. The roof is absolutely beautiful beyond our expectations and I know it will last the rest of my life and then some. It stands out and puts the rest of our neighborhood to shame.
