We picked this place just looking for some good campechana. We got blown away. Archie and Veronica provided amazing service! The setting and music are a good vibe to go with the giddiness that will come with eating here. Campechana and ceviche were over the top. Spicy, packed with wonderful fresh mariscos, and crazy delicious. The prepared oysters, packed with ceviche, are some of the best oysters we've ever had. I will order these every time I go. The tacos Sinaloenses disappeared almost as fast as they came out. Get. The. Fried. Rice. Do it. Do it. Do it!! Literally got so excited about the food that we forgot to take pictures. This last visit, Itzel took amazing care of us. A few months ago I joined an online accounting class, not knowing what to expect. In it I met these two amazing women. After several weeks of grinding and helping and a bit of struggling, we all decided to meet in person for the first time. One of the lovely ladies recommended we try out this spot; since the food looked amazing but none of us had ever gone. I was the first to show up, and I was promptly seated while waiting for the rest of my party. I didn't realize I was in the presence of greatness, as our server ended up being the one and only Itzel. She was so kind, so friendly, from the minute I got there. She ensured we got our drinks as soon as possible, and then she took our order. Being that it was our first time, Itzel started recommending some of her favorite dishes. Everything sounded amazing, but we all decided to get the fajitas. Best. Decision. Ever. The food arrived shortly after, and the food was simply amazing. However, what made this first time reunion so special was how attentive Itzel was. Every time she would come back to our table, she treated us like we were old friends, joking and ensuring we left with a smile on our faces. Heard from word of mouth that this place had great energy and good ambiance. Decided to stop by and watch the Dodger game and try some of their signature dishes accompanied with a Michelada. To start Michelada was okay, probably because it was such a big glass for a 12oz beer. I usually go for a Negra Modelo when I know the Michelada is that big with tons of ice. Honestly I couldn't taste the beer; even thought the beer was flat. For my next drink I just went for a beer itself. For my entrees I went for the 'Camarones a la Cucaracha' and the 'Ceviche Mitotero.' Camarones a la Cucaracha: Shrimp was extremely cold. For sure they weren't freshly made. At time when the shrimp was cooked it was over cooked; I know this because I had a hard time taking off the shell. Didn't finish the place. Ceviche Mitotero; After adding enough guacamaya sauce i finally thought it was delicious. Nothing you can't get anywhere. Final Thoughts; Would I come back to this restaurant? Prob not unless it's a Sunday and every other place is closed. Probably when the seafood at is best and fresh. Customer Service: forget it. Not a place you can have a conversation with the server or a bond with. I do wanna say that this particular night it was horribly windy and I'm not sure if that's a factor why the servers weren't at its best. Lastly, this is not a place to come check out a game. My boyfriend and I came here for the first time about 2 weeks ago sat with another server that didn't really make the place memorable, but it wasn't until Itzel came and took over for our server because she was on break. Itzel changed everything for us. She started to recommend food and really tried to have a conversation with us, unlike the other server. We knew right then and there that we were going to come back for Itzel. We then came back again on Friday but this time we brought my parents and sat with Itzel again. As soon as we told Itzel it was their first time she recommend so many different foods and drinks for them to enjoy. We just can't thank Itzel enough for the great service that she provided for us. Too much good food. Seriously! Came here on a Sunday and the place was packed! Definitely make sure you put your name down on the waiting list, because the wait can get up to an hour long. We ordered drinks right away and I got the Mexican Firing Squad, which was very mango forward and tasty. Not sure how much alcohol was in it, but if you want a cocktail that doesn't taste too much like tequila, definitely get this. For food, we ordered the Molcajete Mixto Caliente (of course), the fish tacos, and a verde Tostada de aguachile. oh shit...my stomach is growling, writing this... The tostada came out first and since I'm a baby when it comes to spice, I was a bit hesitant to dive in, but the spice level wasn't too bad...in the beginning lol. No, but seriously the heat level was there towards the end of the bite, but it was manageable and definitely worth whatever pain I was to endure afterwards. On a spice level scale from 1-10 it was at a 5/6. The salsa for the chips was a bit spicier imo. 6/7 out of 10. The shrimp was fresh and tasty and the cucumber with the avocado with the lime juice was a nice refreshing bite. The fish tacos came out next and I should've only ordered 1, because they were pretty big. Fried to perfection with crunchy cabbage and the blue corn tortilla, it was MONEY! Add some salsa and you're golden! The main event...that molcajete. WOW. Came out steaming and loaded with bacon wrapped shrimp, bone marrow, chicken, steak, longaniza, cactus, cheese, avocado, green onion, tomato...with a side of rice, beans and tortilla...bruhhhhhh. FIRE. Everything was so good. Pro tip, cut up the steak and the green onions before making your taco (it's literally a whole green onion stalk) so that you're not tearing it off with your teeth, looking like a rabid, hungry dog. We had to order more tortilla which was only $1 something, because they give you 3, but so worth it. They also had a live banda playing which set the vibe! I was asked about a dozen times this question and at times it was while I was in a conversation. The staff is really great and super attentive. Overall, it's a cute spot with great ambiance but just way overpriced. Be careful with the drink menu with zero prices on them. They were $24! The drinks were good but definitely not $24 good. Especially because it was all a big ball of ice and half foam. I think I took three sips and was done. That was a turn off. Also, a server dropped his tray after cleaning a table next to us and tomato juice ricocheted off the floor and on to my husband's back. They asked if it had hit us and he said yes, they apologized but that was it. I get it, an accident but a dessert on the house would've been nice. Just go try it for yourself.
