    Chicken Salad Orange Souffle Plate

It's a great place to do a solo lunch or lunch with friends. Was happy to see that service and food remains excellent despite Pandemic reset. The popover and consume also continue to be a part of the lunch. The day I went, I was solo dining and aside from enjoying my lunch,(which I usually bring part home) I also enjoyed seeing others meeting again in such a civilized and cheerful place. I ordered the Chicken Salad Orange Souffle Plate, perfect! Continued best wishes to all the staff!

    Burger and fries....it was good!

I was very pleasantly surprised by Mariposa. It's a family favorite for my girlfriend so she wanted to go on our day off. Only 2 other people there . Well done decor. Servers were really nice, responsive and helpful. The meal starts with fresh popovers and strawberry butter seriously happy, and then an amazing cup of chicken consommé that was incredibly full flavored and completely clear....skills here. I had the burger and fries, both of which were done very well and the burger was perfectly cooked, fries were great too. She had the roasted turkey Panini made with thinly sliced house roasted turkey, with house chips. Another perfectly done sandwich, and the chips were very good. Carrot cake to finish that was a bit too much frosting for me, but not overly done, and the cake and frosting were very good. The bottle of Veuve we split made for a perfect lunch before a relaxed walk down the Mag Mile :)

I reserved a lunch table for one on Open Table and arrived at 11:30. I enjoyed complementary chicken consomme (courtesy of the chef), a popover and strawberry butter, a small pot of tea and steak frites with a substituted salad for the fries. My check was $34.57. Food was great. My server, Adrian, was attentive and prompt. Bussing is on point. Lovely decor. I wish the view were more romantic. But this was a good experience and price was not too crazy. Recommended!

This is my favorite Neiman Marcus restaurant. The view is great because it's on the top floor of the Neimans on Michigan Ave. The staff is amazing. They are so polite and efficient. The best part is obviously the food. It's all extremely fresh and great quality. Each meal starts with popovers and broth, both very refreshing. My favorites include the grilled shrimp salad, Tuscan turkey sandwich, and chicken paillard.

The amazing carrot cake at Mariposa; seriously, folks, four people could easily share this!

I recently lunched at Mariposa with clients; it was not my first time here, but it was, as ever, wonderful. The décor is tranquil and modern, in soft, warm neutrals; the gents is very handsomely fitted with greys and tobacco browns. The service was excellent, throughout; our waitress, Jessica, was attentive, polite, friendly, and courteous. She took very good care of my clients, and made sure my water glass was always filled. I like to drink water, so this is very important to me. I ordered the steak frites and they arrived perfectly cooked, piping hot, with spinach. I asked for some Dijon mustard and it came with the meal, but on the side (which was very nice). In France, of course, they call it 'moutarde traditionelle' which means, essentially, 'traditional mustard'. They're not kidding, either. Now, I love spinach. It's so yummy. I should have liked a bit more, but that's just me. I love spinach! If I may suggest...some creamed spinach, as an option? Just a suggestion, of course. Luncheon begins with a small cup (too small, in my opinion) of very good, very hot chicken broth, served in a demitasse. Oh, it was so delicious! I love home-made broth; this was a big 'plus' for me! Now, about the dessert. Oh, baby. Oh, baby, baby, how was I supposed to know.... Hit me baby one more time! Sing it, girlfriend! We ordered a piece (one!) of carrot cake and hot diggity dog! It was ENORMOUS and DELICIOUS! Yeah baby yeah! Here's a helpful tip: One serving will easily accommodate four persons. Really. I mean that, sincerely. NO ONE can eat a serving of this cake, alone. Well, I suppose they could, but.... The coffee was also very good, strong and hot, just the way I like it. (don't go there) I love this restaurant. Don't let any tourists in.

The mister and I are always down for a Socialite Babe lunch, and this is the perfect spot. Service--from beginning to end--is top notch. The interior is bright and stylish with Calder tapestries flanking the walls. Yummy, strong cocktails. Beautifully prepared and flavorful food. If breakfast is at Tiffany's...lunch is at Neiman Marcus!

Very nice place to have a rest when you are tired while shopping. Excellent service and good food. The only complain is working hours are too short. Haha:)

    Seriously, that popover

Loved my experience here at Mariposa as it was my first time. I've only ever been to Zodiac room but not downtown so it was nice to experience this for a Sunday brunch with my mom. We did some shopping downstairs and decided to go have some tasty lunch since we were too tired to walk anywhere far. We got a nice table by the window and ordered away. The place is a more modern twist to the traditional Zodiac Room but it went well with the Michigan Avenue store. Okay, so let's talk about those popovers, I swear those things alone deserve five stars, they are to die for, and seriously the best part of eating at Neimans. Oh and that strawberry butter that goes along so wonderfully with them, I mean wow! How can I fail to mention the little chicken broth soup that I have with the popover, it is so very tasty and now that fall is on our way, it's the perfect thing to have on a chill, crisp day. I take that back, it's good anytime of year. We ordered the salmon platter as an appetizer which had a fabulous presentation but we could have passed since our entrees were enough. My mom ordered the thai scallops which she seemed to really enjoy. I wanted to get the turkey panini but then when I saw a cheeseburger brought out for someone else with gorgeous skinny frites, I quickly changed my order and got the burger. I asked for well done and it was over done so that's the reason I didn't give them 5 stars. I wasn't in a hoity toity mood to send it back but for a $17 burger which can easily be shared by the way, I want it done right. The service I must say overall was very good, our server was sweet and attentive and everything was brought out as it should be brought out. For drinks my mom got the strawberry margarita and I got the fruity sangria and both were also delicious. As if we weren't full enough, because I seriously should have been done with my broth and popover but nope, we had to try one of their desserts. We shared the creme brulee and it was beautifully presented but I didn't love it, it was a little warm like it was sitting out for a while and the flavor just wasn't like it is at RL or some other places. Overall, a great little lunch spot, not a foodie place, but a girly place for after too much shopping or window shopping. If breakfast is at Tiffanys, than lunch is at Neimans.

The broth is the kind you want to keep dipping bread into and practically lick off your fingers afterward -- flavorful, savory, and a little briny without being the heavy creamy type of sauce that some places do. Very comforting but not overly rich. Honestly, I don't even remember all the other dishes we've ordered over the years, but our experiences have consistently been good. Service is polished, the space feels classic Chicago, and it's a great place to relax before or after a performance downtown.

Wonderful experience here, I was just visiting and after I finally found parking, I asked to be seated but did not have a reservation, the hostess said if I could be about an hour she could squeeze us in. So I was thankful for that, we were not looking to stay for a long time just wanted to try the place out. Once seated we were waited on and served fast. The food was mind blowing, we loved everything!!! My favorite was the duck appetizer puffs, wow they were good. Everything though was elevated and delicious. I'd come back in a heartbeat. Thank you for the wonderful experience to add to our trip to Chicago!

Terrible. I am honestly not sure how people are recommending this place. I was excited to come here…read moreand had very high expectations, but unfortunately the food was extremely disappointing. Let's start from the beginning: the bone marrow. What on earth was going on? Why would you cover bone marrow with fig, bacon, and so much cilantro? Bone marrow is a delicate dish. You are supposed to taste the richness and subtle flavor of the marrow itself. The cilantro completely overpowered it, and the fig and bacon made it even worse. Chef, where did you train? This dish made no sense. Then came the agnolotti. I have no words. Just look at the photo: full of oil. I mean completely swimming in oil. Then the chitarra with seafood. Horrible. Spicy for no reason. Again, why are you trying to cover the ingredients instead of letting them speak for themselves? Also, the fish tasted frozen, not fresh. The pork belly, supposedly the signature dish, was another disappointment. Again, so much sauce that the actual flavor of the pork belly was completely lost. The staff were nice, the ambiance was okay, and the wine selection was good. But please, stop covering the taste of the food you cook. If you need to hide the ingredients under excessive sauce, spice, cilantro, oil, bacon, or sweetness, the only explanation is that the ingredients are not good enough on their own. I will not be coming back. Not even for free. Sorry. PS. Why so much bread on each dish? So much buttery horrible bread that you will trash, because it's impossible to eat all of it.

Every single dish was so good, cocktails were incredible, our waiter was a delight... this review is about to be a rave if you couldn't already tell. We were searching frantically for a patio we could have dinner on because the weather was too perfect to be inside and somehow, Girl & The Goat had space available last minute. After a quick wait, we were seated with menus in no time. We started off with the tropic like it's hot cocktail which was the most refreshing and delicious cocktail I've ever had. Dangerously delicious but also weirdly felt like I was drinking a healthy green juice. For dinner, two of us split a bunch of different plates like the roasted asparagus, salmon poke, shrimp salad, and kohlrabi salad. Each dish they brought out was more incredible than the last, and those four dishes were plenty of food. We left perfectly full but the food was so fresh and light, we didn't feel too weighed down. From the list, I honestly can't even say what my favorites were, but our server recommended all of them so we have him to thank. The salmon poke was delicious and so fresh and honestly such a solid choice. If you only get one thing (don't. get like 2 plates per person prob) that is the one. Only thing to note is that the patio is on a kind of busy street and if you go on a weekend night it can get crazy loud when those weird quad bikes drive past blasting music at an absurd volume. Go here, you will love it. Get all of the amazing food and at least one cocktail bc they are delicious.
