I was looking to have a dead oak tree cut down and have another one trimmed. I called Mario's Tree Service to get a quote and they were at my location the very next day. This was a great experience because the other companies I called requested a quote fee of $50 and were scheduled out at least a week. They were very knowledgeable and very friendly. If I could rate them 6 stars, I would. Their prices were also very competitive coming in lower than the other companies. These are the most disrespectful people I've ever encountered. They started their chain saws at 6:30am on a holiday, waking up my medically fragile baby. When I asked if they could please start somewhere else besides next to her window they pretended they didn't hear me and kept going. They might be OK at tree trimming, but they fall miserably short morally. read more

I have used Mario's Tree Service for about 5 years now. Mario comes to my home on a regularly scheduled yard service each month and when I have to have larger projects taken care of, such as trimming my trees, and the latest project of redoing my entire backyard. Mario has helped me every step of the way with that process from planning, layout, transporting the materials, and the hard labor of doing the manual placement. He is very knowledgeable about the plant and tree types and life that not only look good but last in our hot climate. He is VERY fair priced in his back breaking work. And I have always felt like he gave me more work than what he has quoted me for. I could not be convinced that there anyone or any other company that would do a better job. I have watched Mario grow his business over the past years, and he is still as humble and grateful today as he was in prior years. Another successful tree removal by Mario's Tree Service. Last pine tree removed that was a threat to my house. Clean, professional and personal. Mario is a cool guy. Also removed another stump that wasn't in the deal for free. Left me a ton of wood chips! My neighbors and I have all matching wood chips now. I did call him back asking him to remove the rest of the wood chips because it was WAY to much. He said he'd come back and remove them with no extra fee. Great company and I'd highly recommend them to anyone. Better prices then the rest I've dealt with in the past. If you want free wood chips call, they will dump them with no fee if they are in your area. read more

My friend in West Chicago told me he had Marios Tree Service out this week and he is a very particular, fussy guy. He can't say enough good things about the lady who gave him the estimate, the promptness and the excellent work performed by the crew. There were 6 of them and they took down 3 trees and some bushes and created wood chips out of a lot of bushes he had trimmed. They were very neat and left everything looking so nice. He couldn't believe the new and safe equipment they were using. Very reasonable and he was fearful it would be twice as much and had put it off for several months. Excellent service, quick workers. Had a huge elm tree removed and two stumps to grind, as well as trimming of another tree. Very reasonable in price. I asked them to keep some of the wood and they left me with more than enough. Took all precaution to make sure the house was safe as well as cleaning up the yard, roof, and gutters. We called Marios in July to have a Maple tree removed from our backyard. A lady showed up and gave the quote which was significantly cheaper than any of the other quotes we received. We scheduled for removal and two days before removal the mid-summer derecho/tornado came through Lombard and caused significant damage. We had to reschedule and the next closest date was end of October due to an electrical disconnect (mercy of power company). Meanwhile, we continued to try and contact Marios (email and phone) regarding an earlier date, questions, and instructions, but never received a reply back. The day before our new service date we received a call from Marios and confirmed that the job was still scheduled. Though....later in the evening we received a text message saying that the job would have to be rescheduled due to the power company cancelling the disconnect and that they would try to rebook the appointment with comed. A call to comed DETERMINED THAT WAS A LIE. Comed still had our disconnect on the books, though noted that an individual from Marios did contact them and try to cancel the disconnect, which required our authorization. Fortunately, comed had not cancelled the disconnect since doing so would move us into December or January. We left multiple messages for Marios and never heard back. Needless to say, we will never, ever, use them again. We found another tree company within Addison that took the job and honored Marios original quote and were able to do the work next day along with the disconnect. Would love to mention the company by name, but can not within this review. Will be leaving a separate review of the company that saved the day. Regardless, Marios was unprofessional, did not return calls or messages, attempted to cancel our disconnect with comed, and the lied about the reason for the cancellation. Stay away from this company if you value honesty and responsiveness. read more

I read all the great reviews for this Tree Service and thought I'd call for an estimate. This was back in mid August.I needed to have 2 ash trees removed due to the emerald ash borer. They were very prompt in coming out and offering an estimate. After getting 2 other estimates, I decided to make an appointment to have the trees removed. We made a date for September 16 and on the 14th I received a text stating that there were "mandatory changes in our schedule due to pre-contracted municipality work that needs to be done. We will be in contact with you, with a new date to remove your ash trees." So I waited to hear back from them. After several weeks, I called and left several messages trying to reschedule. I never received a call back. This week I received another text stating,"We apologize for the inconvenience, Unfortunately we will be unable to do your tree removal this season due to our log term contracts with municipalities." I did respond saying that it was an inconvenience and unprofessional. No response. Not sure what happened here, did they make a bad bid? close up shop? Just plain poor management, a call would have been in order - could have called and tried to work something out. I'll never know, but this leaves a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Marios came Thursday and gave me a detailed, thorough estimate. They called yesterday to say that there was a cancellation and they could do the work today. They arrived promptly this morning and, at almost noon, had taken down two large pine trees with grounded stumps, two dead ash trees and are finishing up a HUGE tree that no longer fit between my neighbor's fence and my garage. They were by FAR the best estimate and the estimator, the owner's wife, could not have been more lovely. I am so pleased with the work and the value for my money. I shopped around for 1 tree to be chopped down stump ground out, a 2nd stump ground out and two large maple trees trimmed away from my home. I choose Mario because of the detail in his quote and pricing. The 4 companies I had he was the 2nd lowest. I was concerned that his lower cost meant lower service but when revewing the written quotes the detail was there the others didn't have. I made the right selection the trees and stumps are gone, the maples look beautiful and it opened up my back yard. They destroyed our fence door, smashed several plants, lied about how many hours they were at our house, disposed their garbage in our garbage bins, left our outdoor furniture in shambles. And when my wife came home to discover all of this, she called and was basically told that she was a liar. That our yard was already destroyed prior to the workers arriving. So if you don't mind getting your yard and belonging destroyed, and being told your yard was that way already, go ahead and entrust your yard to them... Sorry for the late review. I hired Mario's Tree Service in March of 2016 to take down a dead Ash tree in the corner of my lot hanging over my neighbor's in-ground pool. I asked they drop the tree in the back of my yard and I would cut and split the wood for my wood stove. They arrived on time with a multitude of equipment. They climbed, cut and removed the tree with no damage to my neighbor's pool or yard for an very reasonable price. They were professional in cleaning the debris from all three of my neighbor's yards in the corner of my lot. They dropped the Ash tree just where I asked. Fully insured??? Really? They caused extensive damage to our 27' privacy trees, basically stripping the entire fronts of the trees, drove their machines in our yard WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION WHILE WE WERE NOT HOME during a job they were hired to do in our neighbors yard. We ended up having to hire an attorney and eventually had to go through our insurance to go through their insurance to get a fair settlement because they were unwilling to offer fair compensation for the damages. The person that eventually came out from their insurance company to assess our yard was shocked at the damage they caused. Worse yet, Marios even drove their trucks and tore up a section of lawn in the neighbor's yard next to us! read more

Tree is down, the guys were nice. Tree was in backyard and I have tree shavings in front yard and front porch. Clean up could be better and now it falls on us. Stump was grinded 2 days later and another clean up for us, but was informed that they don't clean up stump shavings. Price was higher then I was quoted from my tree company but due to time frame had to use Mario's. Would of gave 5 stars if I wasn't the one cleaning up my front yard. read more

Mario's did a great job trimming back a large maple tree in my back yard. They completed the job in approximately 40 minutes and left me some logs for my fire pit at my request. They also did a very thorough job cleaning up and removed all limbs and leaves from the job site. I would definitely recommend Mario's. read more

Removed a huge maple tree from the front of my house about a month ago. Even grinded the stump down. Only reason I won't give them five stars is because they wouldn't honor the 10% off for new customers they advertised on the website.
