I highly recommend T&M! I had a tree blown over due to the recent wind storm. I called them an hour after the tree went down. They were out at my house with an estimate about a half hour later. T&M did an excellent job for tree trimming and tree removal. I think their price was a little on the higher end for the work performed, but it was reasonable especially for the equipment they brought. One thing looked like a thing from the movies. I would use them again because the quality of the work was good. My only nitpicking criticism is that when the foreman called me about other trees he recommended (after the quote I already received), the amount he quoted was significantly higher than I thought it should be especially considering that he already had the manpower and equipment already there. read more

We've used several tree services over the years. This was by far the best company we've ever used. We had two trees about 60' tall that were dead or just about and they just did a tremendous job. From putting down matting to protect the lawn to a great cleanup. If it wasn't for the two small mounds from the stumps they removed you would hardly know there were ever any trees there. We have used T & M Tree Service twice and they did a great job. The most important benefit to this company is that they are properly insured. They carry both liability and workmen's compensation. I don't want a tree trimmer with a chain saw up in my trees without proper insurance. They aren't the cheapest because they pay for their own insurance. None of the cheaper companies carried workmen's comp - and watch out for the local guy with the limit of liability clause in his contract. An injured worker making a claim on my homeowner's would cost me a lot more than paying T & M's higher cost. They are professionals - not just some guy with a chain saw. read more

I got 5 quotes to remove a tree. The price spread between the highest and the lowest (T&M) was $400. They were prompt in giving a quote. We set a date for the removal and they showed up as planned. They recommended rescheduling the job as we had just got 1" of rain and the yard would take a beating from the machinery. We rescheduled and they showed up and did a GREAT job. It was a 75' foot ash. They recommended taking down a cherry that was suffering. We did so to find that this trees center was completely eaten away by ants. Good call. We also had them trim up 3 larger trees and they now look awesome and I'm sure they will thrive. All there people were very pleasant to talk and deal with. They were conscientious about their job and really cleaned up the yard nicely. My neighbor came out and saw the work they had done and was impressed. She got a quote on the spot and ended up having a tree trimmed and another sizable one taken out. I have nothing but good things to say about the job they did and their staff. After I read all the great reviews, I decided to call T&M. I am so glad we did. They did an excellent job for us. We had a very large pine tree fall from a storm and they were out and had the tree off the fence and cut in about a half hour. Since they were so busy they came back to stump it and remove all the debris. I contacted T&M and got a response the same day, and scheduled an appointment for a quote on the work to be done the following day. Two men came out and assessed the work and gave me a quote in writing on the spot; and I said YES on the spot because I knew the quote was reasonable and within my ballpark. On the appointment day, 3 trucks arrived and about 6 work men followed me into the yard to commence with the work. It was a big job. They had to remove part of my falling down fence in order to get on the other side where I have a utility easement. The crew swiftly cut and removed all the debris and removed a full truck of chippered wood pieces. The crew were great - polite - pleasant, and they even went out of their way to do me a favor and pull down a piece of a bough in my front yard (where they did not do any work). This work was done with spirit and on a very cold and blustery day. (The weather was crazy and wild.) My only comment for consideration is around the actual scheduling of the work. Scheduling the job was not difficult, but when I did not hear from them on a work date I called them 2 weeks later and was told they would be in my area that Saturday. I agreed on the date (three days later). I would call on this crew again and would not hesitate to recommend them based on their responsiveness, fair pricing, and overall professionalism. No need to look any further for quality and affordable tree service! Out of several estimates for removal of two pine trees and their stumps, T&M was the lowest estimate by hundreds. More important than their price, though, was their service! On the scheduled day, half a dozen men and an equal number of trucks and machines showed up to take care of the trees. I watched them work the entire time and was impressed and delighted with their efficiency and camaraderie. Like a well oiled machine, the guys got down to business, each knowing precisely their role and when to perform it--no time was wasted. From my perspective, these guys have been working with each other for years! Not only did they work synchronously, but they also seemed to enjoy it! Left a message for Todd on a Friday regarding removal of a tree in our back yard. He returned the call that evening. He said he would stop by the following week to give us an estimate. Called him again the following Friday and left a message asking if he had been out and when he would be giving us the estimate. Gave him 1 more try the following Tuesday leaving yet another message. To date I still have never heard back from him. To me this shows lack of professionalism and a company that you cannot rely on or trust. Needless to say we went with another company and they did a great job, in fact we ended up paying to have 2 trees removed. I guess Todd did not need the business. When I did not hear from him within 3 weeks, I contacted him again. He had the work scheduled for the following week. His crew showed up when they said they would, performed the work and a little bit extra - mulching some bushes that I had taken down myself and set by the curb for pick up. This testimonial comes to expose the less than amicable side of T & M Tree Service. I had used this company one time before to take down a tree of 50ft tall for $450. It took multiple hours with a substantial crew and was done successfully. This time, while they were already on the premises of my neighbor's extensive job I asked for a price on some few trees branches to be cut back and a couple small shrub stumps leveled. The first amount quoted was $400, with rebuttal, it was lowered to $295. The crew supervisor could not give me an estimate on how long it might take to better determine a fair price. Additionally this supervisor was repeatedly rude and unprofessional in his interaction, by walking away and ignoring my repeated attempts to discuss specifically what I wanted cut. His first shot at the task was haphazard and did not include the overhang from above that I indicated. He became gruff and mumbled complaints when the error was pointed out to him. Ultimately, the task took 35 minutes to cut about 10 branches that were left with splintered ends due to his thrashing through the work. This lazy man had to be asked to use his extended length Stihl saw to do what I requested. He called my attention to talk at me by saying "hey, hey". And, the cleanup was not thoroughly done. As a result, I decided to pay $100 less than the scam price. I contacted the owner TB, and from my report, he replied that what I'd paid was, quote, "more than fair" for the way that the supervisor behaved. The owner added that this was not the first complaint about that supervisor's appalling behavior as he had been on some sort of probation so TB offered apologies. When I challenged the inflated price he proceeded to share the unnecessary details of his business expenses for equipment-wages, blah, blah, blah, in an attempt to justify 35 minutes of work. Considering that these expenses were already covered by the neighbor's contractual job, he was firm that the "more than fair" price I paid would be granted no refunds. TB is able to do the math fairly on whole trees but practices price gouging otherwise. As for the owner's repeat offender supervisor, I suppose some businesses appreciate an individual that can bring the revenue at any cost. Because TB was disgruntled with my review to the BBB, he has yet to send himself to clean up the residual branches as was promised in an email. His emails further indicated that he is most concerned with his ignorant supervisor's welfare in being suspended than a repeated customer receiving suitable work for a reasonable price and to be treated with respect. I'm not sure if this lapse in consideration is a consequence of my gender or my ethnicity but it is wrong, so women and others, BEWARE! read more
