When I reminded them that they were the ones who had performed the original work, the response was essentially, "Oh, we can just repair these couple of bricks. It's not a big deal." After that experience, and now being presented with what I believe is an unnecessarily expensive repair, I simply don't feel comfortable doing business with this company anymore. When you hire a company and spend good money on their work, you expect fair pricing, honest recommendations, and quality workmanship. Unfortunately, that's not the experience I had.
