They contacted us earlier than our scheduled date to see if it could get bumped up sooner. We were pleased with that. The day of the removal they had the tree down quickly. I rarely write reviews but felt obligated due to the excellent service provided by G& C! I've used them a couple times in the past and was very satisfied. In this particular situation, I lost a very large branch on a maple tree in the backyard. I called them and they responded that afternoon and explained what should be done and gave me a very fair estimate The crew arrived the next day and within three hours the work was completed significantly taking a lot of weight and stress off the tree. Such precision in the line of bushes, above and beyond in trimming the tree back from the house, and the single bush was done to perfection. Very friendly and agreeable workers, very professional. On Friday early evening a large tree branch came, I call G&C early Saturday morning - a received a quote by 12 noon and the crew came on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m.. The whole job - disposing of the large branch and trimming the broken branch - was done professional and efficiently. read more

When I contacted them to either trim or remove a tree with lots of dead wood, they got ahold of me quickly, provided an estimate, and answered my questions. The fact that they have an arborist was a big plus. Sadly, they confirmed that the tree needed to be removed. They were the lower of two bids and the price seemed fair but I'm no expert. There was a slight hiccup when the office didn't get back to me quickly after I signed the proposal (new office staff), but when that was resolved they sent a crew out the next day, hours earlier than I expected (which was fine). They had the tree cut and chipped fairly quickly and swept up afterwards. The crew removing the tree was fast and less noisy than I had anticipated. Someone came out afterwards to grind the stump; they were careful maneuvering the stump grinder through our gate, finished quickly and even shoveled the wood chips to where I wanted them. Lupe and his team are amazing! I had a very big cottonwood tree in my backyard on my fence. I was very concerned that some big tree trunks may fall into my neighbors new patio or hit his house. All the cuts were controlled and dropped into my backyard. It was pretty cool to watch the team work. They were very professional and detailed in every cut. I needed a large tree trimmed in order to allow full sun to reach my roof for solar panels. I hired G&C Tree Service and was very specific for the reason for the trimming. I explained to the individual who performed the estimate, and I even reiterated this to the workers prior to any work beginning. G&C Tree Service proceeded to trim some lower branches off of the tree and charged me $600. The next day when the sun was up, I noticed there was the exact same size shadow on my roof, so the trimming had accomplished nothing. I had a second company come out to see what could be done, this company told me that as a result of the work that G&C performed, the only option remaining was to remove the entire tree. I was also told by this company that had G&C not did anything, he would have been able to perform the trimming that would allow full sun to reach my roof. After this conversation, I called G&C tree service back to explain the situation, I was told they would give me a full refund of my $600. This conversation took place on August 24th, and as of today September 8th, I have still not received the refund. I have been calling G&C Tree Service daily to ask about the status, and now they are ignoring my phone calls. read more

I have used G&C twice. The 1st time was for removal of trees that had fallen across fences around the property and removal of dead limbs on huge oak trees that were hanging over the driveway, along with pruning of a number of various trees. The 2nd was to remove two huge prominent oak trees (and do some pruning). I wanted to keep the wood (for seasoning for firewood) and they were very helpful in cutting it to manageable sizes for me to split. Both times, Lupe was professional, responsive and cost-competitive, and the staff were thorough and efficient in the work that was done. I will hire them again in the future! read more

I am not sure what has changed with G&C Tree Service but I am extremely disappointed with them. I am on the board for a condo association with 10 buildings, so it would of been a good job for G&C. I emailed the sight map of the property, addresses and list of trees to be pruned or removed. I got an email asking me if I can meet up with the owner Guadalupe. I called the office on a Wednesday and we set up the appointment for Saturday morning. I was staying at my cottage so it was an one hour drive to meet up with the owner. I waited and waited and he did not show up. I than called the office and a girl answered the phone, she said that she would call him and then call me back. I waited very patiently and no one called me back. I then decided to email the owner, no answer, I called back after waiting 90 minutes no email and no phone call. I then again gave the benefit of the doubt and waited a few days until I emailed once again asking G&C to please reply if they are interested in the job or not. Just let me know either way. Still No Reply!!! This is extremely unprofessional. I have hired them in the past and was satisfied but something has definitely changed and not for the good of the company. read more

These guys are amazing. They're professional, thorough, and do great work. We used them last summer to cut down 4 dead or dying trees and trim 4 others. They arrived on time, worked hard, and left our lawn looking better than when they arrived. We were so pleased we decided to use them again. We needed 3 giant willows removed and the quote they gave us was extremely reasonable and were able to start the next day. They were supposed to arrive around 8am, but due to the cold weather they started closer to 10. We received a phone notifying us of the change. They worked until almost 7:30pm and were still not finished. They arrived the next morning promptly and quickly finished the work. This was really a pleasant surprise...! They showed-up at 8:00 with five guys and a lift truck...all of a sudden, after the five of them walked through my yard, gazing up and chattering - the chainsaws started. One man in a 65' boom truck; another guy climbing a tree like a ninja; three guys on the ground cutting/lifting/hauling the stuff to the curb. I had some huge half-dead oak trees - hickories, Scotch pine with borers. Fully trimmed. There were three maples with limbs growing close/just over my roof - highway for the squirrels and whatever else. I pointed out the branches I needed gone - one of the cutter ninjas took care of it in short order. Front to back - back to front - its a few minutes after five and their large dump truck with the crab arm has picked-up all the debris from the curb; the crew has completely blown the bits and raked my lawn all the way to the curb (I have an acre, by the way). Not the cheapest - but certainly the most complete. Fully insured. Hard workers trying to make a way for themselves and their families. Fully recommend these guys to ANYONE looking for a great job and really positive experience. read more

We had a dying 30' spruce in our front yard that needed to go. Contacted G&C and one other company for an estimate. G&C was prompt to come estimate the job and provided a very reasonable quote. We were told the work could be completed the same week. Unfortunately, it wasn't -- but we did settle on a day the following week. Crew arrived at 9 am and went straight to work. By 11 am the tree was down, the trunk cut into firewood per my husband's request, limbs shredded, yard raked, area pristine. Part two of the job, however, was grinding the stump down. The foreman told me the guy with the grinder would be out later that day or the next. Well, a week later...the stump is still there and our check for the job is still sitting on the counter. Haven't heard a peep from G&C. I realize tomorrow is Christmas, but seriously -- is it too much to ask for a schedule and/or a courtesy call to let us know what's up? I will most likely change the rating to 5 stars if they grind the stump and clean up as well as the take-down crew did their work! read more

I am very happy with this service. Had a microburst that hit on October 9, which took out two huge trees. They came with their crew on October 20, and did an amazing job of cleaning this mess up. A crew was here at 8am and left at 5:15 pm. I had them grind out one more stump that was actually on neighbor's property. Tree had fallen, unfortunately on mine. Very reasonable. G & C Tree Service did an excellent job trimming two very large silver maple trees, removing a large mostly dead lilac bush and grinding down a tree stump. Ralph came out a did a thorough estimate within a couple of days after requesting an estimate. The price was very fair. The crew was out just a few days later. They were respectful and hard working. They asked a few questions before they started to make sure the job was done according to the customer's specifications. They also did a great job cleaning up after the work was completed.
