The guys wanted to drive a truck into my backyard during a rain/snow event. They said they would lay boards down. I asked them not to do it. They trimmed two trees really well. They began to leave and they were told two trees. I showed the contract, they did it. I was not happy about that part. Ralph, the arborist , came out a couple of days later and said they trimmed the tree. Would have been five star except for the overall third tree issue. read more

Abbot's crews were out yesterday, Thursday November 21, 2024 to trim 5 oak tree's. We have had them out previously to trim tree's and remove two large tree's. Neighbors used Abbott many months ago. They had no regard for other's property on the block. Damage is still visible today. I had to clean up the smaller debris left on my property. Could not rectify damage by large vehicles. None of the neighbors affected interact in any positive way to this day. This is a hit and run operation. May want to look elsewhere if you value the opinions or relationships you have with others in your vicinity. read more

I really liked the gentleman who came out to give an estimate, and the people answering the phone where friendly enough, but responsiveness was a problem here. No one called after the estimate to schedule the service. I then called three times to get on their schedule. Finally, there were three possible dates they thought they might come out for the service, and it seemed that they finally settled on a specific morning to come out for the job, but I received a call at lunch time that two of their employees called in sick. I'm sure they knew before lunch time that their employees called in. I'm going to go with another company as I feel I wasted a lot of time calling for service and waiting around on the supposed day of service for nothing. read more

Abbott Tree Care is just that - they care about the finished product. The Owner came out and provided a detailed quote for trimming and removing several trees on our property. He also gave recommendations do treating several trees that were in stress do to construction nearby. He never once tried to hustle us for additional services. His crew of 6 men spent a full day removing dead fall and several dead trees. They pruned all the remaining trees and did a complete cleanup of our yard, leaving it spotless. Called on Monday to get a free estimate and he said he'd come Wednesday morning. 10 minutes before the appointment time he calls and says he cannot be competitive when coming and if he comes all the way to my area he has to charge more and they offer NO discounts ( I didn't even ask for any). I was telling myself to let this go but it's still bothering me. So back in September I decided to go ahead and get some work done. I'd say a decent amount. One huge tree and an apple tree completely cut down and stumps ground down. On top of that 2 more trees pruned back. A walnut and maple. Then to finish it off I had some leftover stumps that were here when I bought the house I wanted done as well. So I get the proposal set and ready towards the end of September. I was told that the job would be done in November. Ok no big deal. I didn't hear a word from John or anyone. I took matters into my own hands asking on October 29th when in November since we were days away. That the job was going to get done. The response I got was the job is set for December 3rd. Fine, I can deal with that let's just get the job done. Once again didn't hear a word and December 3rd passed. I was going to cancel the whole thing. Then I spoke with Mike asking for a 2nd chance if they'll handle the job. The job finally started on December 8th. They didn't get to finish the whole job at once. So they had to come back. They finally came back throughout the next week or so. I then noticed I had multiple emails with the invoice saying the job was complete and that I can pay. So I finally sent a message to mike on January 16th asking about this. He had no idea that the job wasn't complete. Nor did the lady that called me later that week asking if I've seen the emails for payment. I also told her the job was not done and 3 stumps still needed to be ground down. 2 of which were the only 2 in my backyard left. So then time goes by once again. Months now it's March and they do just the one stump in the front yard. Leaving the 2 in the back. In this process I received yet 2 more emails starting the job was done 1 on March 24 and another on April 19th. In between that time April 6th I sent another message to Mike that the job still hasn't been finished. I still had to call to see what was going on. I then got 2 voicemails one from mike asking if I could spray the stumps with orange spray paint. The other was from John saying he marked them and said that there was some confusion on what stump to do in my backyard. The only 2 that are there. Hmmmm. So finally April 24th. The job was complete. So if you go from when the proposal. It took about 7months and no proper communication from anyone. I would not recommend them whatsoever. Only in December from Mike was the only time I felt like a true apology was given. After that I received excuses and I'd say maybe even a lie or two. Not to mention never discounted the price that was given. Almost makes me want to take 7 months to pay them. I figure I'll write this review. Pay them and be done with them. Once again. Do not waste your time with this company. Go with anyone els. read more

I called Abbott after a storm caused my blue spruce to fall on my front lawn and onto the house. I was given an estimate of $1500 for removal and haul away. I then got a 2nd estimate and thank God I did! The 2nd estimate was for $475! What a difference. I cannot imagine what Abbott can do that the company who actually did my removal would do that could be worth an extra thousand dollars! When a homeowner is in a time of stress and needs honor-ability, price gauging is not what they expect. I would not recommend Abbott for any reason to anyone. Had a tree snap in half @ 20 feet up called Abbott for an estimate. Lady on the phone was nice. Funny thing though no one showed up for an estimate. When I called to see what the problem was they said their guy can only do so much in a day. I asked why I didn't get a courtesy call they didn't have an answer. Lady on the phone was nice enough but I moved on. I would not recommend. read more

I contacted Abbott to remove several LARGE (40"+) trees and to prune the rest of my yard with over 50 trees in it. The owner came out and walked the yard with me going over my needs and consulting me on my tree care. First, the communication with this company was GREAT! There was no language barrier, and the owner was onsite every day (at least for a while) to oversee that his crew was preforming the job that he promised. They did a great job and were well worth their cost, which was in the ballpark as all the rest. They climbed and pruned all of the dead wood and dangerous limbs and when they were gone, there was no sign of them ever being here, other than healthier, nicer looking trees. I would HIGHLY recomend this company for all of your tree care. read more

We called Abbott tree care professionals after a snowstrom knocked down two big branches off of our pear tree. They came out two days later from when we called them. In addition, they arrived to our house unannounced and did not bother to ring the doorbell and sat in their car. They drove away without looking in the backyard where the tree was. They did not contact us in anyway to inform us they were coming, that they were here or that they were leaving. We are stuck with these branches in our backyard because they did nothing for us. We also wanted to know if the tree was sturdy enough but they did not even look at the right tree. Therefore we have to call other people in order to make sure that the tree is okay. This is terrible custom service and I would not recommend them . read more
