Dim lighting, big comfortable leather chairs, bookshelves lining the walls, a fully stocked bar, and historic photos throughout the space create a classic lodge vibe that feels timeless without being stuffy. It is cozy, polished, and incredibly relaxing. The staff is knowledgeable and clearly takes pride in what they serve. The craft cocktails are well made and thoughtful, and if you prefer beer, there are solid options there too. As a bourbon lover, I especially enjoyed their private barrel pick served neat, a real treat and easily a standout pour. This is a perfect pre-dinner or post-evening stop, we have done both, and it works beautifully either way. Dress is slightly casual but leans upscale, and while pricing is a bit higher than average, it feels completely worth it for the setting, quality, and experience. We sank into the chairs, talked story with friends, and lost track of time, which really says it all. If you are anywhere near Skytop Lodge, make sure this is on your list. Plan extra time, you will want to linger.

It's tucked right around Franklin Social and one can confuse it for another apartment building, but instead you're moved up to the top floor where it feels like you're back in the 1800s, in a good way. A speakeasy, but on elevation. It's first come, first serve for most parties. There's one table for a party bigger than 4, but most are for couples. Very cozy tables with comfy seats and candles dimly lit to make it very cozy for a wrap to a date night. The cocktails were elegantly thought about too. Love the history behind the name and the drink menu was expansive, yet understandable. You can definitely get whatever fits your palette here with cocktails. We got the beauty in green & mint condition cocktails and loved both of them. We'll definitely come back, though likely keeping it to ourselves!!

I would 100000000% recommend getting the Dealer's Choice; the creativity and balance were outstanding. For a Monday night, the bar was surprisingly busy, yet the bartender handled everything with ease. The service felt personable yet intimate, and it really elevated the entire experience. I'm so glad I made the decision for my partner and I to come. And listen... I will absolutely be back, especially for that Hey Sweetie with sweet potato syrup. A masterpiece.

Since we were big fans of those alcohols, we decided to check it out. The walls of the space were covered in colorful murals with Latin American imagery. There were banquettes along either wall with small tables and ottomans scattered in front of them, providing separate, little areas for each group. Large playing cards were fanned across each table with Jack, Queen, King, and Ace cards each having a menu on its backside. There were bar bites, a spirits list, classic cocktails that could be reimaged with your agave spirit of choice (picture a tequila mojito), and even a custom beverages. The creative drinks were not cheap, coming in at around $20 on average, but they certainly were complex! My La Balacara featured Casamigos Mezcal, spiced pear, Luxardo, orange, ginger, chestnut honey, and a chili tincture. I thought the drink sounded outrageous, but, sadly, all I tasted was that honey, the ingredient of which I was least interested. In fact, the smokiness of the mezcal really did not play well with the chestnut honey, leaving it to taste sort of like licorice. I was not a fan. My companion's El Encanto included Casamigos Cristalino, Lillet Blanc, strawberry-lemongrass cordial, guava, and basil, which sounded herbaceous, but really just tasted like a fancy daiquiri. He enjoyed it, but I found it unimpressive. Our drinks were accompanied by a complementary bowl of spiced popcorn, which was delicious. We had come from an earlier dinner, so the snack was as much as I needed. However, the few larger food items that I saw others order all looked great. While I would go back to Perico to try some other items, I felt like I had had better, more affordable cocktails upstairs at Panela.

We jumped over to the bar right beside and drank some girly drinks before getting the notification our table was ready. As with nearly every establishment in NYC, it is very close quarters in paradise lost. We stood at a table while waiting for seats at the bar to become available. Which, we didn't mind. I could see how this might be a little harder to get a seat for a bigger group if you aren't there before 6. It seemed that once a group got a big table, they camped out. The drinks were strong and creative. Friendly bartenders, good music, and yummy options for bar snacks. Also, the bathroom is a nice touch. Given the hell theming for the bar, the bathroom is a 180 and while using the Lou, you can listen to the bible being recited. Theres also a spooky surprise if you press the button in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, it is at the bottom of some decently narrow stairs. So, try and stay sober enough for stairs or you may fall. Go to this bar. You will have fun.

I could tell from the photos that the vibe was lighthearted and trendy, and the reviews of their food were also excellent, so it was the perfect choice. We pulled up in our ride share and noticed that valet parking was available, which was helpful to know for the future. We ascended the several steps up to the lobby, where we checked in and were then escorted to one of their two dining rooms. We were greeted by our nice server and then I went to look for the restroom, only to discover that there was a single bathroom for all diners. I found that odd, particularly because, though the restaurant was not super crowded on that evening, I know that it could be busy on weekends. Anyway, after waiting around five minutes, I was able to get inside and then rush back to my dining companion. We both reviewed the drink menus, intrigued by the fruity, tropical concoctions on offer. I settled on the Ex Keeps Calling, which was made of Don Julio Tequila, passion fruit, cinnamon, Cointreau, lime, Aperol, and mint. The orange-colored drink arrived in a rocks glass on a large wooden board that also included an antique telephone that was ringing. It was such a playful presentation! The cocktail resembled a passion fruit margarita, but had slight bitter notes from the Aperol and sweetness from the cinnamon. I could not detect the mint, but the cinnamon really made the drink memorable, in my opinion. My partner ordered the Guarapita, which included Patron Reposado, guava, pineapple, lime, and thyme, and was served in a large rectangular glass that looked like a purse and even had a leather strap attached to it. The drink was decent, but tasted like cotton candy, so it was a bit too sweet. From a food perspective, we were very intrigued by many items on the menu and decided to start by sharing the Trio De Cesticas De Platano Rellenas, a set of three plantain cups with protein stuffing. The menu said that we had our choice of fillings between beef, pork, and chicken, so we had assumed that we would receive one of each. However, the trio only accommodated one variety. We choose the beef and were thrilled with how juicy it was. The meat was tender, and the marinade was juicy and savory. The plantain cup, however, was a bit dry and was potentially premade. For my entree, I selected the Pechuga de Pollo, which was always a favorite dish of mine. The chicken breast was pounded into a massive, thin filet that was juicy and well-marinated. That was a contrast to my companion's Lomo Salteado, a dish of stir-fried beef with onions, tomatoes, and spices that included pretty dry and chewy meat. The dish also had a few large potato slices that looked like they had been fried, but tasted baked. Those could have used a bit more flavor. Both dishes came with our choice of side dish. I went with the mixed vegetables, and he went with the yellow rice, both of which were good but needed more pizazz. Overall, we loved the tropical rainforest atmosphere, childlike cocktail presentations, and tasty food. We just felt that the dishes could have used some additional seasoning. However, we would gladly return.

While the aesthetic has a hipster edge to it, let's be clear: this is not a place where you get a cheap bucket of beer served by a pretentious, disinterested bartender. It is a haven for people who truly appreciate exceptional spirits. They distill incredibly high-quality, rare spirits right on-site, and the innovation and quality show in every glass. It is obvious that an immense amount of thought, care, and consideration goes into the flavor profiles of both their unique creations and their brilliant takes on classics. The drinks are pricey, but it's worth it for the premium experience. Their rum old fashioned is a personal favorite -- a truly innovative take on a timeless cocktail. For those who abstain from alcoholic beverages -- they do have a handful of tasty mocktails available. What elevates the experience even further is the exceptional service behind the rail. Instead of the indifferent attitude you get at some trendy spots, the team here is welcoming and highly engaged. They take the time to ask about your flavor preferences to recommend the perfect drink. The space can get quite loud and high-energy -- especially when multiple lively groups or bachelorette parties are overlapping -- so be prepared for the cacophony. Even so, for phenomenal cocktails and incredible service, this place is unmatched! If you want a masterfully crafted drink in an unforgettable, high-energy setting, this is the spot. We will definitely be back!
