Joe's Pizzeria - Plane slices - Pizza Near Me - Kenvil, New Jersey

The best pizza ever! Used to live here and moved away 21 years ago. My husband and I were so happy that the family still owns and operates this business and the pizza is still amazing. Sorry we couldn't go back for more as it was a very short trip, but if ever there again we will always stop in. So nice that it's still the same. read more

Joe's Pizzeria - 2 original cheese slices - Pizza Near Me - Kenvil, New Jersey

I've been eating Joes pizza since I was a kid in the 70's. This second generation family-owned pizzeria is simply the best in the area, hands down. The dough is just thick enough to hold it all together and allow for the perfect ratio to sauce and cheese. They cook it perfectly every time, and my family prefers it on the well done side. They call that "crispy" when you phone in your order, and you'll thank me. I've tried all offerings in the area, but Larry and team just get it right consistently. I remember years ago being in there and seeing long time customers who moved away come in for 6 pies to go. Since moving midwest, they say the pizza is terrible, so they stock up and freeze when in the area. Classic!! They are also very supportive for area causes, sporting team sponsorship, charitable efforts. Good people, great food!! read more

Joe's Pizzeria - a pepperoni pizza in a box - Pizza Near Me - Kenvil, New Jersey

Good food Quick delivery service After my regular pizzeria hiked up their prices, I started to look around for different options. I was craving for a pie, so I found Joe's Pizzeria on Yelp--of course!! I called for delivery, the food arrived 5 minutes early...always a good sign. The delivery driver called as he was approaching and was friendly. The freshly baked pizza was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. Maybe next time I'll drop in for a slice or a pie...on Pi day!! read more

Very good pizza and the fried wings are also very good our favorite is the Sicilian pizza. They deliver and deliver pretty fast. This is our go to pizzeria read more

Very good food, an good pizza , my only complaint is I ordered pizza delivery and when my pizza came, it was ice cold. The pizza was not in a warming blanket like most places have them. read more

Well I ordered the Family special Chicken Franchise tonight. The salad had 4 small pieces of tomato, a couple of olives, onion and lots of lettuce & cheese. Not only that, my daughter cut into a piece of chicken and it was PINK! It grossed her out & grossed the rest of us that we didn't even eat it. We all ate the lettuce salad and garlic bread! So for the $40 special, I sure wasn't impressed at all! Will post photo read more

Sometimes you drive past a place so often, but never go in. Then when you finally do, you wonder why you didn't stop before. That's how it was with Joe's Pizzeria for me. A great stop for pizza, right on Rt 46 in Kenvil! The service was very friendly. The woman who waited on me said that Joe's was around for almost 50 years. The son now runs the place, but Joe usually still stops in every day. What I liked most about it, was the old school charm. Yes, you can get a slice from about a dozen different types of pizza toppings, but it's an old style place which makes you feel right at home. Parking is easy, there's a lot in the back or just stop in front for pickup. The place was nice and clean and prices very reasonable. I'll definitely be back! read more

Great pizza and love the house salad. Pizza is crispy and very delicious. Been going there for decades.

I didn't try it myself but my granddaughter got a pepperoni pizza and said it tasted like her grandfather's cooking

I ordered a Grandma's pizza for the first time from Joe's and was incredibly disappointed. See photo. What wasn't burnt to a crisp was mostly raw. When I called to make them aware their response was "thank you for letting us know." Will never be back with so many pizzeria options in the area. read more

Joe's Pizzeria - Bottom of Grandma's pizza - Pizza Near Me - Kenvil, New Jersey

Just had another slice of pizza here. I am never disappointed. May be one of the best pizzerias that nobody talks about.

Pizza is basic not much flavor and the calamari sucks and they're advertising sucks. I got a "gift card" for $10 If I ordered anything more than $20 so as a new customer I ordered but when I told them I had this gift card they knew nothing about it and then told me the coupon was only valid for pick up only. Here is a picture of what I received, no where does it state it's for pick up only. False advertisement and disappointing to say the least. Won't be ordering from here again read more

Not only does Joe's have the best food, but they are a huge supporter of the local schools and programs. At times with the owner himself making personal and extra deliveries! Was my favorite place when we moved to Roxbury 18 years ago and they just keep getting better read more

I've been eating Joe's pizza since I was five years old. I recently moved to Arizona for 8 years and this is the first place I ate as soon as I moved back. New to the area and locals gave me this gem. I'm picky with pizza (Essex County has everyone beat) so I'm looking for good quality and this is a great place. I had delivery, a Grandmas Pie and immediately could tell the cheese was fresh! It had a nice crisp to the crust and overall a solid pie. Pepperoni rolls were also very good, but garlic cheesey bread was kind of weird.. Definitely ordering again. read more

Had a regular plain slice and a pepperoni slice. Both were fresh and tasted recently made vs some of the make and re-heat a lot of places around the area use. Service was friendly and the wait time for takeout was not long. Will certainly add this pizzeria to my list of recommended / preferred locations. There are a lot of pizzerias in the area but many are disappointing to me. This one was not. Give them a try! read more

My husband and I went in to order food to go. I told him I Had been there before the food was amazing and also ordered pizzas numerous times and they were delicious. I ordered the veal Marsala over spaghetti. Upon Arriving home and excited to enjoy a great meal I was very disappointed. The veal was heavily coated in breading, not just flour, It was cut up in strips, had chunks of onion in it very little sauce very little mushrooms and was absolutely tasteless. And apparently they added red sauce to marsala sauce I don't understand why. I called Joe's and told them I believe they gave me the wrong food that this was not Veal Marsala. the girl on the phone put me on hold twice and then a man came on the phone and said that's how they make that dish. I told him it was awful. He offered to refund her money or come in and make me something else so we drove another 15 minutes back to pick up veal Francaise. Upon arriving back, there was 2 other customers in the place. I said thank you and The guy behind the counter making pizzas, not even wearing his mask it was pulled down around his neck, told me 'you don't tell a restaurant person their food is awful' I said I've never seen Veal Marsala made in that fashion and he said 'they've been making it that way for over 50 years' I was totally shocked to be scolded as a customer in front of other people including employees and other customers I was absolutely mortified I assure you I will never return to this place and I will tell all my friends about this experience and they will not ever go there. The veal francaise was dry, with penne, flavorless, and almost no sauce. The pasta could not have soaked up so much therefore there was very little to begin with. I've been in the restaurant business over 30 years, am a culinary graduate, owned my own restaurant and worked with/ hired some of the best chefs in the country including those that were on the culinary Olympic team and others that attended CIA. Being in the business, I know it's been a difficult time, but there was absolutely no reason to attack a customer if they were not happy with their meal. I have also never written a review on yelp but I was so appalled of the way I was treated that I felt other should know about this experience. If I could have given a 0 star, I would have. read more

Excellent neighborhood pizza. The dough and crust are heavy but well cooked and crispy. Sauce is heavy on the oregano, cheese is good for a New York style. It's greasy but Bc the cheese is good, fat is flavor. The dough needs works, otherwise excellent read more

My lady and I got a coupon for a free pizza from a few local places when we moved to Landing. I hadn't heard of Joe's. I expected them to treat us like jerks like some other places have done before when you walk in with coupons but they were certainly attentive and helpful. Really glad to see us. Pizza was really good (half sausage and onion, half plain), regular tossed salad was good, and slice of buffalo chicken was good. Will always remember that. Definitely recommend it for consistently good service and food. read more

My family absolutely loves Joes Pizzeria. Staff is always friendly, the pizza is really good, and oh my god the variety of pizza they have is amazing. I'm not too familiar with all the names, but they had pizza with ravioli on it, with macaroni on it, they have the most delicious Sicilian pizza I've ever had. Reasonably priced as well. read more

I live close to Joes and have eaten their food over 20 times. It is mediocre at best. It is located in kenvil which might be the crappiest town in Morris county, NJ. So comparatively, it is considered good. But travel 2 miles east or west and you will find much better Italian food with a much friendlier owner. They consistently forget to give you salad dressings with to go orders. Pizza can very odd tasting on some occasions. And I previously mention the owner because he is not accepting of any complaints about the food. He will become rude even when you are nice and pleasant. read more

This is the best pizzeria in the area, it has been family owned for a really long time. The people are really nice and the service is good. I can't comment too much on all the other food available here, but the pizza is great. You always get a good pie and I have no complaints about it. Pizza is always hot and ready for take out in the amount of time that they tell you. read more

Just left Joe's a great review a week ago but I have to revise that review now. After placing an order for pickup I had asked for a grandma pie with extra sauce and tomato basil garlic topping over that on 1/2 the pizza. Girl who took my order could not understand what I was asking for - I said I am literally asking for those three toppings. What I thought would confuse her less, actually confused her more and I said think of it like a bruschetta topping on the pizza, if thats what you can give me then give me that. She still was lost. After telling me my pizza would be ready in 25 minutes, I was already 2 minutes from Joes when the same girl who took my order called me and said .. so like uhhh you want tomatoes on half? I'm like no, I said either do Tomato, basil, garlic, or do your bruschetta on 1/2 the pizza. She said that would include onions and I said thats completely fine, whatever is easiest for you, but I am 2 minutes away so is my pizza done yet? She hesitated and said... yeah. I said so if I come in there its ready for pick up? She said no... not quite yet.. So I said then it isn't done. I walked inside. After placing my order at 5PM - I didn't pickup my pizza till 6PM! I waited another 25 minutes inside just to get the wrong pizza. A grandma pie.. with just sliced tomatoes on it. When I said the pizza was wrong the owner immediately got defensive and said what do you mean there is something wrong with the pizza? He said you said tomatoes - I said yes I did, I said like bruschetta.. and he said but you told her you didn't want onions. And turns to the girl who took my order and said did she say she wanted onions and the girl said no she didn't. I said that's a lie, and you're a liar. Why would I say I want something and be upset when I didn't get what I want? I have provided Joes with some great business because I genuinely like their food. Which is sad. Because after I made that comment the owner immediately got defensive on me infront of 10 people standing in his quick pick up area and said WE ARE NOT LIARS. Are you serious? Why would I be upset if I got what I wanted? I specifically told the girl what I wanted. I explained I also was upset that she said it would take 25 minutes when she called me a half hour after my order was placed and didn't even properly take my order. Are you serious? The owner basically suggested his business has been jam packed - well guess what, that's not my problem. Don't set unrealistic expectations. After I went ahead and called the girl a liar, he baffled and made a joke about his staff not being liars and something about his nose and being italian.. which had nothing to do with what I was saying. I walked out. I was disgusted. Usually when something is done wrong an owner of a fine establishment would say this is on the house, instead I paid the $19.00 dollars even though I was heckled and told I was in the wrong! I'm disgusted cause this was our weekly pizza spot since we moved to the area.. I have been a good samaritan supporting this local business but if I can; I'll try to go to Dinos now or Fortes who can get my order right the first time and won't heckle me when I tell them their staff screwed up -- and so did the owner. Thanks. read more

Good food. Love the calzones, but only when the owner is there. If Larry is not working the place appears to be run by college students and the food is mediocre. That's the reason for the 4 vs 5 stars. read more

Wow. Just wow. Nice crispy crust. Their Sicilian is amazing. Nice people, quick service!

This is the best pizza in the area. Also their eggplant and chicken parmesan is fresh and delicious. Excellent service.

Joe's is honestly great. Everything I order from them is fantastic!!! Their portions are monstrous, and the prices are super low. For example, today I got Chicken Francese, it's a HUGE serving with 2 generous pieces of chicken, it also came with a FULL size salad which was fresh AF, and garlic bread which was an ENTIRE loaf.... all for $13. You can't beat it honestly. You can tell that they use quality ingredients. Everyone I've interacted with there is super friendly... you can tell that they all love where they work and who they work with... that means their food is made with love, and as any Italian knows... food always tastes better when it's made with love. I highly recommend Joe's. read more

oh my god. had the most remarkable pizza we have had in a long time the crust was spectacular and ordered for the first time eggplant. Unlike other pizza parlors. I'm from Brooklyn. The egg plant was small slices breaded and fried with the most delicious bread crumbs and just placed on the pizza like that. In the past most pizzas come with the egg plant kind of smashed this was world changing thank you Joe's read more
