My partner and I decided to try La Gratella last night for dinner and we were quite pleased. Very typical pizza restaurant vibe with that early 1990s style. Lots of Formica! Not that there's anything wrong with that! We started with the fried calamari and it was very good. Calamari tasted fresh, seasoned perfectly and the marinara was delicious. I prefer crispier calamari but this was definitely a 3.5/5. My partner had the chicken Marsala over penne and the flavor was really good. My only criticism would be that the sauce looks very muddy. Maybe a teaspoon of marinara to give it a little color and a little acid. Otherwise it was very good. Fresh mushrooms thank goodness not canned, chicken was tender and the penne wasn't overcooked. She said she would order it again. I ordered the thin crust pizza well done and I really was blown away. Born and raised in the Bronx makes me a self appointed pizza expert and this pie did not disappoint! I downed three slices and would have had another but my stomach was finally winning the argument with my brain. The service was actually excellent. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, connected with her guests and absolutely added to the positive vibe we were experiencing here. La Gratella is a small pizzeria/restaurant located in a strip mall on Rt 10 in Ledgewood. I had seen some nice reviews for this place and had it bookmarked for a while. This week, my wife and I had a chance to stop in for dinner. We were both very impressed by this restaurant. The food and service were excellent! I ordered a sausage and pepper sub. My wife had a tossed salad with the eggplant rollatini appetizer. The salad was huge and we wound up splitting it. We both found the food to be good and prices very reasonable. Next for us is trying the pizza. Lucky enough we found out they deliver to our area. Check out La Gratella! It's definitely worth giving a try! read more

Listen this place used to make some seriously amazing Pizza under the previous owner but that was then and this is now. Unfortunately the latest owners now make an average sort of Pizza that just doesn't do "IT" for Me okay. Although, this place always seems to be packed with customers so I don't know if maybe Bill's turning into a Pizza Snob or something even worse, but yeah, dang.    Anyhow I really wasn't too crazy with the Chicken Fingers I ordered here either so maybe I'm turning into one of those "Negative" kind of Yelp Reviewers who goes around telling everybody that all their stuff sucks in the most horrible kinda way possible. It was ok and it was pretty expensive. They charge extra for thin crust. I also ordered regular crust. It was the same thickness. No material difference. So save the uplift in cost on the thin crust because it seemed the same as the regular to me. read more

Returning customer. Highly recommend chicken murphy. Italian Salad w Cajun chicken. And even the plain pizza is very tasty. Crispy, think crust. Not too heavy on the ingredients. Looking forward to trying the chicken roll next. Lunches here are highly recommended as well. Good value and most of the meals I have tried have been very tasty. Hey ya'll. Hope everyone is safe and well. I've been away from Yelp for awhile as life has been a little crazy lately (as it has for everyone in different ways it seems). So this is one of many long overdue reviews...I'm making up for lost time. So...I needed a serious diet cheat tonight (I've been hittin' the home fitness game hard and thought I'd indulge) and Italian was the way to go. I also wanted to try a new place that delivered so, using my trusty Slice app as my guide, I chose La Gratella since it was one of the suggestions on the app due to proximity (was visiting family). Here's the scoop...er...the SLICE guys...good food and friendly service, based on my delivery experience. The food arrived prior to the ETA from the app. Super polite delivery gentleman this evening and great food. Now, you know a tasty meatball or two or three or four is one way to win my heart...but you know how to REALLY impress me????? Give me a side of meatballs that is double in quantity as compared to most Italian restaurants and have those meatballs be kickin and fresh and swimming in flavorful sauce. Bullseye . La Gratella nailed it baby. The grandma style pizza was very fresh and flavorful, too. So the moral of the story is, when you want to cheat on your diet with Italian and you want to do it with meatballs and a few slices of pizza, consider La Gratella! Don't order from here if you expect to get your food. Ordered through Slice and after 45 minutes had passed from the delivery time I called the restaurant. I was told the order was on its way and would be here any minute... 20 more minutes pass, I call back and was told the same exact thing - it would be here any minute. FINALLY called Slice and they contacted the restaurant and were told that the order was confirmed but it was never made for some reason... they only assumed it was out for delivery because of the time. ARE YOU KIDDING? THEY DIDNT EVEN CHECK AND JUST LIED TO ME TWICE. NEVER AGAIN. AWFUL SERVICE. read more

Gratellas is a solid 3 close to a 4 star place. Their grandma pie is top notch. Definitely worth stopping in for that alone. Rigatoni bolognese is another great dish they put together. I have tried some of their salads which are always well made. The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and welcoming. Victor, the owner, is a great guy. There are signs clearly displayed in the restaurant indicating they do not make substitutions for their dishes. The owner explained to me he rarely makes substitutions because he has found customers may not be happy with the dish when he makes substitutions and it has caused him problems in the past. They have a catering menu. If you are looking for a slice of a sit down meal I would highly recommend it. It is conveniently located on Route 10 west with plenty of parking. read more

Best Italian food in town , food is always packed with flavor, and the customer service is unmatched

Food is good but service and delivery are a real issue. Twice I have had problems with delivery. Today I ordered lunch for two people: a salad, soup, garlic knots via Slice. That simple order took almost an hour to deliver 2.5 miles away, ordered at 1:30 on a Thursday. When it arrived there was no dressing for my salad despite having specified and instead of garlic knots they gave us one slice of cheese pizza. I called to complain and the only option was redelivery but at that point we were very hungry. They either were not able to give me a credit because of using Slice or they didn't want to. Slice should really minimize mistakes because it is spelled out. I may not order again but if I give them another chance I will call my order in. read more

Early delivery; which was great! Cesar salad was good, though the salmon is way too salty. I am pretty sure it is farm raised, so would not get the salmon again. Mozzarella sticks are always great and comes with the softest bread I've ever eaten. This is a local favorite! read more

OMG! we just got a Grandma pie and it was horrible! it was extremely thin crust with hardly any sauce and mostly mozzarella with a few sprigs of basil. what happened to the Grandma pie with the deep dish crust, hand squeezed tomatoes and dollops of fresh mozzarella with torn basil leaves. it was like a blind date gone bad! it tasted like it had been reheated too many times. was very disappointed and upset after spending $20. worst pizza ever! read more

It didn't look like anything fancy on the outside but once I stepped inside I was very nicely surprised at the warm and comforting atmosphere located here. It was very open and they had a tremendous amount of options for pizza but the slice or the availability to make a fresh pie for the meal. SUPER BOWL SUNDAY! My friends and I ordered a flawless special they had for Superbowl. Extremely affordable and we even had leftovers. Not only that but they gave us tons of blue cheese for our wings without us even asking, also supplied us with napkins and plates... Its those little things that separated them from other local Pizza places who deliver food, these guys actually took the time to think about us and what we may need with our meal. I ordered a chicken cutlet vodka sauce sandwich and a pizza from this place night. The pizza was really good but the sandwich was terrible. My chicken was processed Perdue frozen chicken! When I called the restaurant back and asked if they used real chicken instead of processed chicken he said that's what they use. He also didn't seem to eager to rectify the situation and that upset me even more. If you're in the mood for chicken I wouldn't go here and I def wouldn't go to this place ever again read more

I've only ever gotten a pizza from here - however they do have a seating area inside that may be worth a sit-down moment; but definitely not for anything special. Pizza was delivered obviously too large for the Box. 2 slices were folding in on themselves making them inedible. Call to complain Clerk said we have to wait for a new pie to be delivered and not to touch this pie so he could show his boss. How about just crediting us half the cost of the pie. I am shocked what just happened to us. We have been taking out pizza from this place for as long as I remember. I tried to order a pizza with 1/4 (2 Slices) of toppings and they flatly refused. They said I had to get a 1/2 pizza with toppings. I reminded him that we eat there or take out almost every Friday night. However the buck on the phone told me they had two slices of what I wanted separately. I explained to him I don't care about the price. You can charge me for 1/2 toppings. The guy just out right refused to accommodate us. They must think they are the only place in town for us to go. I am still shocked at the audacity of the service. The guy did not seem to give a crap and seemed to relish in the refusal. I know it seems hard to believe. Call and find out for yourself. They wont let you order it anyway. That is it for me and my family. I guess I will be ordering the 10 pies for my kids birthday across the street. read more
