This company told us we had termites and wanted a thousand dollars from us to treat it. So, we said, we'd get another opinion. The next company told us, we don't have a termite problem. They are dishonest. read more

Douglas made it easy for us. His guys are considerate, punctual, friendly, and clean up well after themselves. They beat everyone in price. And we love the guarantee's they offer. My wife had so many questions and would text Douglas all the time, and he would reply almost immediately. We highly recommend this company read more

Was looking for a basic termite inspection. Spoke to several people to set up an appointment that would work best... I even asked for a confirmation email to make sure that the appointment was set for that date. The day finally comes and no one showed up! We received a call today from the business owner apologizing for their mistakes, just want to be fair and give this review an update. Mariners Pest Control is trying to make this right for us, and we wish this won't happen again. read more

Had a bad spider problem and paid $189 for the service. The first visit only last about 30 minutes if that, he basically just sprayed around the edges of the inside/outside... gave it a few weeks and spiders were still around the house and webs all outside. So I called back and they sent another person out to spray again, after he came out I waited a couple weeks and the same thing occurred. The last thing I want to do is waste anybody's time and come out again and have to keep calling, plus I have a two year old that is all around the house which is my concern and when I called back she said there was going to be a fee... I already paid $189 for the service and the initial problem was never solved. I told them I wasn't going to pay and really shouldn't have to as most services offer a %100 guarantee. A lady said she would talk to the owner and cal me back and never did, I also emailed and no response. I'm writing this so no one else experiences this and knows what to expect when working with this company. I had to call another company to come out and it was cheaper and the guy spent a lot of time and product around the house and now our house is great. This company should refund my money for not delivering the service I paid for. read more

This review is about Mariners wood repair only: termite damage and dry rot as opposed to fumigation. The house had been fumigated as part of escrow, but I wanted the existing damage repaired. First, these guys are expensive, at the top of all the estimates that I got. But one of those other bids was for a mostly Bondo job that might have been acceptable for a rental but not for my home. The other bids were closer to but still below that from Mariners. I went with Mariners based on my walk-around inspection with Douglas. He found all the trouble spots that the others had plus a few more that I had identified as worrying. His solutions, as we went, sounded complete and far more permanent. I was impressed with his knowledge. In the end, I also was happy with the completed job by his crew. Am I a competent judge of this? I honestly don't know. I can say that I paid top dollar and got what I think was a complete and competent, top-dollar job from Douglas and his crew. read more

These people are completely disorganized and unprofessional. They have cancelled an appointment with us TWICE after making us wait the scheduled appointment time range. Both times they claimed we weren't on their schedule but would send someone out as a "favor" tomorrow. You want to do us a favor? Get someone who is competent at doing basic office work and capable of keeping a schedule. Again, first time - fine. You waste our time for the second time? No. I called them back after they spoke to my mom this morning to confirm who the office manager is to follow up with her via email. I disconnected their call when they asked who I was. I hope they weren't expecting me to open with them when they were awful to my mother. Their office then called me back twice (from their caller ID) to see who I was and what the address for the service (that they didn't do) was. I told them the city and disconnected the call again. I found the email of the president of the company and sent him and email. Additionally, we were told today that our warranty for 1 year's worth of service expired in January 2017. There was no mention of this when we contacted them in March '17 to get someone to our house. Best part? They've been to our house only once (back in 2016) and didn't do a good job with the termites (which is why we requested they come back for these past few months). Note to the office staff: You guys messed up twice; you don't give clients an attitude. AVOID MARINERS. read more

Termites appeared to have done significant damage to my home before I could realize there is a problem. I spotted something wrong that gave me somewhat of an idea that I may have a termite infestation. My neighbor suggested that I have an inspection done on my home. I actually found mariners Pest Control on Yelp search. Mariners came out in a timely manner and walked me through an inspection showing me what to look for. They looked for swarms of flying termites in my home, mud tunnels along the foundation of my home, tiny drilled holes in wood, buckling paint or wings or sawdust around the doors or windows. Basically, termites eat wood. Being that my home is an older model home the termites entered my home through tiny cracks in the foundation and one in started devouring the wood. They chewed through the wood, leaving a trail behind, for more termites to follow. lets just say it was a nightmare. Mariners Pest Control discussed my options with me and suggested using a liquid termicide in trenches dug around my house as well as drilling holes in my foundation and injecting termicide in the walls. Of course there was repairs that had to be done on the existing termite damage. I was confident that mariners pest Control was the solution for my termite problem. The termite inspector Doug did a great job coming in and setting up a game plan for the job at hand. They started work and set my mind at ease. Couple weeks later I'm confident to say that my termite problem seems to be under control. They repairs have been done to the existing wood damage and I have set up a yearly plan to ensure that this problem never happens again. read more

We had to tent the house and Shawn came recommended from another contractor doing work for us. He was punctual, professional and very pleasant to work with. For what it's worth he also answered his phone when I called vs. having to leave a message and await a callback. This was my first fumigation experience. The team they had come in were very nice, did what they said they'd do, and left the house like they said they would. They did seem to push the limit of making their scheduled window, but in the end they did the job in a timely manner. I felt the price was fair and competitive. There are some cheaper deals out there, but it doesn't always mean they'll do the same job Mariner's did. One very nice service they provide is handling the appointments with the gas company for *both* turn off and turn on. Additionally they got the turn on scheduled on the 3rd day. Some other companies leave it up to the homeowner to worry about turning the gas back on, and often require you to schedule it the following day. I can always hope I'll never have to call Shawn again. But if/when that day comes, I have no reason to call anyone else. read more

Several of my neighbors have termites so I thought I better check. My neighbor suggested Tim at Mariner's Pest Control. She told me he came out and presented a plan of treatment other than tenting the whole house. They were very pleased with the result. Tim came to the house, gave a thorough inspection and showed me problem areas that I need to fix. Happy to say that I did not have any termites and I will work on the areas he suggested. After this FREE inspection (yes, you heard me, FREE), he sent a paper copy of the inspection for my records. Amazing service and great customer service! I will now be having an annual inspection since I have found a company that I can trust. read more

I received an excellent inspection for termites. Douglas was very professional and thorough. He let me know our recent 2019 roofing job had dry rot forming which is bad and he showed me boards under the roof that need to be replaced. He also let me know if the roof is under warranty, which it is, that I should call the roofer. I would have given him a five star rating but I did not receive a report about the damage just a monetary estimate for a complete job of preventative dry wood termites treatments , wood repair, subterranean termites which is my main problem. base board repair. I am now waiting for the roofer to do the warranty repairs then I can continue on with the subterranean termites.I wish I would have had an itemized estimate for the subterranean termites and associated subterranean termite damage so I could have proceeded with the subterranean termite treatment and subterranean termite wood base board damage. So four stars instead of five but the best most complete inspection I have gotten so far. read more

I contacted Mariners after I saw what I thought might be termites. The technician showed up on time and inspected my home. I was happy to hear that the treatment would be local and that I would not need to tent or move out of my house! 2 days later my home was treated and since then, I have not seen any traces of termites. thank you mariners for taking care of my termites at an affordable price! I never write reviews and I had to do this for this company. I am a Real Estate agent and I deal with pest control companies regularly. Darryn Groff went above and beyond for me. I have now used him on multiple properties and he is always available. He makes every effort to get over to the property as soon as possible and it is always FAST!!! Then the pricing for the work is not even comparable to other companies. It is so much lower! This company does a great job and I am so grateful to have found them! Thank you Darryn. You are a rockstar! read more

I had the best experience with the representative Shaun and technician James. They went above and beyond my expectations. By explaining the cost and the procedure. The pricing was competitive and the service was impeccable. I would highly recommend Mariners Pest Control. read more

Had them fumigate both my house and boat. House went just as expected. On time to begin and end. Shaun is great. He follows up and remembers my name when I call him. NO BROKEN ROOF TILES on my 25 year old roof! Thank you! The boat was tented in the water at South Coast Shipyard in Newport as I was hauling out for bottom paint. The guys came on time and were great with the unusual shape and size of the boat verses a house. They were careful and did an awesome job. Unwrap was on time again and quick. Still fighting persistent subterranean termites but Shaun is very polite and confident that we will get them. read more

I'm so glad I decided to go with mariners than another pest control! They were very honest and helpful! I had a lot of questions because this was my first time choosing pest control it felt like they were being very sincere and honest and they called to do a follow up and our so detailed in the questions you ask they really go above and beyond!! I recommended this place to a few of my neighbors they were very happy as well! read more

I have used Mariner's in the past and have found them to be reliable and offer good service. Today they went above-and-beyond in accommodating a last-minute request to treat my yard the next day to accommodate a new deck construction. They really helped me out! Will definitely use them for all my pest-control needs. read more

I read the other posts regarding Mariners and have a totally different opinion of the firm than some of the other posts. First, Douglas did a thorough inspection, identifying several areas of concern in the attic, the facia boards, and the lattice patio cover. Some wood needed replaced, the rest of the areas could be handled with spot treatment. The crew arrrived within the allotted time frame and went to work. Nice guys, hard workers. A few weeks later, I found more evidence of termites, thanks to a tutorial from the techs. I called Mariners office, scheduled an appointment and the crew arrived and performed as expected. Then, a couple of weeks ago I found more evidence. Called again, same great service. I do not recall the names of the earlier techs, but the most recent one was Alfonso. Great job, highly reccomend Mariners. Bob H Vista CA read more

These guys are great when they perform the initial service and get your money - so if you're looking for a one-off service, they will be competitive on price. HOWEVER, their word means nothing. That 2 year, free guarantee is worthless. Getting them to come back out is almost impossible. The first time (in the first year) required multiple coordination efforts on our part, and this second time (in the second year), we've been scheduled for service to only be cancelled on or have no-shows for the third time now. We called today and their answer was, "We don't see you on the schedule" and "Can't do it after all since someone's sick. No manager is available to talk to you". I'm done with them. read more

I have had the same experience as others... Coming out after two years requires an act of God to sign up for yearly warranty. I guess Nathan the owner does not care about customer service. Very disappointed in the service. They say one thing and do another. Hopefully they will come out on the rescheduled date. read more

I got several different inspections but decided to go with Mariners Pest Control for several reasons. Their customer service was great every time I had a question or concern they were very quick on the response and made sure I was happy. They def gave me the best price. When the technician arrived at my house he went over everything with me again on what they will be treating and showed me all the spots. At the end I was very happy with the outcome and would recommend Mariners Pest Control. read more

Previously we used Mariners Pest Control to treat areas of the house for termites, but this time we had them come out and fix some dry rot areas. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! They were absolutely great. They went above and beyond to fix multiple areas that were damaged over the course of a couple of days. Each night they picked up and cleaned up to make sure nothing was left in the way, which I really appreciated. They were professional and hard working and charged a reasonable price. I would highly recommend them and will use them again in the future. read more

Shawn at Mariners Pest Control takes customer service seriously. His prompt response and professional service is greatly appreciated. Shawn took the time to walk me around my property and explain an areas of concern. Our termite repair work was completed by the Mariners crew. Jose and Juan were terrific. Most importantly, I misunderstood a portion of the work and Shawn and his team corrected the situation. Immediately. Fully supporting the motto the customer is always right. read more

We had Sean quote our house for termite damage. He was fair, honest and climbed all over the roof knocking on things determining what should be replaced. The work they did was outstanding and Sean checked in with me and explained what they did as I had questions every day. They don't take short cuts, and they want your house to look good and often just do the extra work to make it look good at no charge. They are experts at working with old wood and new wood (which is shorter and thinner by the way) try matching that up. The bonus is the mini termite spray in the attic along with the wood replacement job. 5 other homes in our neighborhood have now used him as well. P.S. Heard that the grandmother post below from 2014 was from a competitor. read more

I had a really bad termite problem and called this company for a free inspection I spoke with a gentlemen by the name of Sean and he was very prompt and knowledgeable . I have dealt with 3 other companies and was not satisfied with the staff and just overall experience. These people were super helpful and had my house tented and got rid of my problem. I have to say one of the best customer service people I have dealt with. VERY SATISFIED read more

I've had several companies do termite work at my home over the years some good some not so good. I've become very picky not to mention leery of termite companies in general. I had 4 different companies come out for comparison purposes and 4 different experiences as a result. Robert came to my house and was very professional and very knowledgeable about termites. I felt I could trust him to do the work properly. He did a very thorough inspection compared to 2 of the other inspectors and while one of his competitors did a pretty thorough inspection I didn't feel as at ease as I did with Robert. They weren't the cheapest but I felt with what they were offering they had the best value along with my confidence in Mariners. The technician James showed up right on time and was very professional and friendly. He seemed to really know his stuff. So far my termite problem seems to be eradicated and I would recommend them highly. read more

If I could I would give Shawn 6 stars! He was excellent. Last night I had to schedule for termite treatment in an area in my house that had termite droppings that showed up suddenly. I had to find someone last minute to take care of the problem right away because my renter was upset that she was moving in today with a noticeable termite infestation. I went through Yelp quoting system last night and Nathan, the owner responded right away in the late evening and scheduled Shawn to come in at 7:30am the next morning. Shawn came on time and was very helpful in answering all my questions including addressing and answering the renter's concerns, who was also there. Shawn identified the problem area within minutes and gave me a reasonable quote. I had 2 other pest control companies scheduled later in the morning, to price compare, but because I had to take care of the problem immediately, and Shawn's quote was reasonable and his demeanor made me feel very comfortable so I went ahead with his service. Shawn also thoroughly explained the chemicals used and told me Mariner warranties the area of treatment for 6 months. I liked Shawn because he was very patient, informative and did not sound like a salesman trying to aggressively sell me his services. I will likely call Mariner back to get a full termite inspection as Shawn told me the amount I paid for today's treatment can be used as credit towards a full house treatment if I so decide to get a full house treatment. read more

Great service. They came out and covered my house for termites. The men were fast, knew what they were doing, and were very polite. I highly recommend them for pest control. Happy with the service. read more

Unfortunately, I had to put at least one star. This place is a joke. All of their online advertising states "free" inspection. Once I called and asked for the free inspection, they said it was $100+ I don't recall the exact amount. I explained that if they did an inspection for the Navy couple that I represented, they would be rewarded with the job. They didn't seem to care. Don't bother calling this company. If there service is anything like their initial contact, I'm sure its over priced and underwhelms. Mariners Pest Control has no business integrity! read more

Mariner's has been out to our house a couple times now. Once to do spot treatment and also to spray some chemicals around in our attic. The second time was a couple weeks ago for inspection. On this last inspection they didn't find anything, but for good measure they went under the house and sprayed some chemicals around. Since using Mariner's I haven't seen a single bug in my house, not even a single ant. Their prices are very competitive. They are very pleasant to deal with. read more

George did a great job removing some pesky flying insects... Will use them again if something like this pops up.

Douglas from Mariner Termite did my whole house in January 2013 it took him 5 hours to do everything. He arrived at the stated time. He was very professional and cleaned up as he went along. He told me exactly where he did the treatment and what to expect and if there was any problems don"t hesitate to call. Mariners did a great job. Starting with Sean who came out and did the walk through and quote for us. Very thorough. Then cannot commend Nefi enough. His work ethics were unbelievable. I recently hired Mariners Pest Control Inc. after a very competitive bid process from four different companies. In my case cost was not the deciding factor (although a key component). I selected Mariners due to the detail in mitigating my termite damage and the detail in replacing the damaged wood. They met my requested start date even though it was a Friday/Saturday. I asked Shawn Mallette (Mariner Field Rep.) to return to my property and walk me through his bid a second time to ensure I hadn't misunderstood the initial bid or missed something. The Mariner crew arrived on time and immediately went to work. I was impressed at how safely and efficiently they accomplished the second story work! They completed the work on time and did exactly per the bid. They maintained a safe and orderly work area throughout the two days. Upon completion they cleaned up and obviously respected our property. The on site foreman (Nefi) was a pleasure to work with. The few minor issues I pointed out were immediately addressed with no questions asked. It was very obvious I was the "customer". You can't put a price on a stress free and honest contractor experience. read more
