Came here on a Saturday morning after my long morning walk to grab a quick bite. It was such a nice day and they had plenty of seating inside and out. They had so many different options along with come coffee and drink selections. I was able to check out very quickly and the women working the from was super nice. I ended up going with the potato and cheese and ham and egg. Honestly, the fillings were only okay but that might have been because of my choices (it was breakfast time). Love that they all have a stamp of something of the type of empanada directly on it. So cute!! I will definitely come back and give a few other options a try!

Amazing empanadas ! I've been to one of the other locations before but this was my first time at the Platte St. location. Tabetha and I came here and got a bite to eat. I got the ham and cheese empanada! So yummy! We went and sat outside at a cute little table in the outdoor dining area. The people here as usual were incredibly friendly and the place is so beautifully decorated and well taken care of. This is such a cute area to eat and shop in and I highly recommend checking it out!

We ordered catering for a Thursday lunch. We hadn't done empanadas before so we thought this would be a fun change. The empanadas arrived hot and had a wide variety to fit everyones taste and eating habits. Some of the standouts in the bunch were the corn which was a meldy of red peppers, sweet corn and cheese. I enjoy the one called Maria which has a mix of carrots and zucchini and cheese. It was a huge hit with the vegetarian crowd. I also tried Argentina, a nice savory medley of steak, peppers, green onions and green olives. What makes Maria Empanadas different from some of the other empanada places I have tried, are the fillings. Maria's has a large variety of fillings to choose from. The dough is also thicker and softer. All around it was a solid choice for lunch.

Great empanada place! I like that if you buy more, the price gets cheaper for each one! I would recommend going here for empanadas and they have a lot of unique flavors! I would come back when I'm in Denver again! Street parking available!

We wanted to support a woman owned business this month and found Maria Empanada. What an amazing find! Santiago and the ladies working were so welcoming! We had 4 different empanadas with a side of sauce. The Diego and Maria were excellent. Two made for a perfect lunch. The names were branded on each empanada which made the experience unique. We had dessert and coffee after the empanadas. The local coffee from Kaladi was extremely smooth! We shared the Chocolate Alfajor which was moist and paired well with the coffee.

I stopped at Stanley market looking for a quick, quality bite to eat after work meeting in the area. Maria empanada delivered. I was greeted warmly by their staff and felt welcome as I walked up. Their empanadas were beautifully displayed in the case so I was able to pick which ones I wanted as I waited in line. I ordered a Mexican coke with their Diego and Argentina empanada, plus a tiramisu for desert. The Diego empanada- this has tender, braised chicken with sautéed onions and chimichurri sauce. The Argentina-seasoned Steak, with the deliceate crunch of sautéed red bell peppers, onions, green olives. This one was my favorite. The first bite had me say "wow, that's good" Don't forget to order your preferred sauce at the register. They have four flavors: chimicurri, green onion sour cream, chilli mayo, and asado grill. The tiramisu was light and creamy, a great sweet ending to a savory meal. They also offer other desserts that I'm excited to check out in the future. Grab these empanadas for a quick bite, whether it's dine-in, to-go, or a big batch for a party these hit the spot. They sell them by the dozen for you to make at home too! Grab them while they're hot or save some for later! Thank you to the team for a great lunch! I was on the road again in no time!

We stopped here on our tour of Denver, and let me tell you this was the perfect morning pick me up. This shop is located in a great location on platte street by commons park. The ambiance is simple but warming and you feel right at home. They have a variety of empanadas at the front and even a few desert choices, along with a variety of drinks to choose from. We picked the Caprese and Argentina, both very full insides and a couple dipping sauces with a spicy kick. We also got two more, the pear in Marsala and the chicken; savory and sweet; both hit just right! The spicy mayo and sour cream onion is just the right for a spicy and a cool kick with your food. Their service is quick and speedy and everything is very reasonably priced. The food is all hot and fresh, you can taste that these were made with care. Check this place out next time you are in Denver!

This place is a total gem! They have the most delicious, fresh empanadas, and their selection runs from savory (with chicken, beef, cheese, etc) to sweet (dessert options with fruit). You're not getting any dry empanadas here! We tried the caprese, Argentina (beef), Sierra (chicken) and pear empanadas. Wish we would've gotten more! I love how the names of the empanadas are "written" on the top - super cool. Service is friendly and fast. The store front is beautiful and welcoming. You have to check this place out!

We stopped by for empanadas after watching the Colorado Rockies play in Denver. The kind lady behind the counter stated she was bringing out fresh empanadas momentarily. She soon arrived with a full tray of empanadas to restock the counter. We ordered the Diego and the Argentina. Both were at the perfect temperature! They each had excellent flavor along with the perfect amount of filling. This place is well worth a stop when in the area!

While I was there though I was not going to pass up the chance to get some empanadas but since I didn't come with an agenda I just told the guy behind the counter give me two choices of whatever you think is good. I appreciated when instead of questioning or getting confused or asking a follow up he just "you got it boss" and entered in the choices without thinking twice. I knew that he was a real one for this. I got my mate which they have on tap! On tap mate is dangerous but it was very delicious. They had two flavors one mixed with orange juice and one that was simply sweetened (not overly sweet at all. Less sweet than any yellow canned mate you might be thinking of). I tried both choices and the orange juice one was really good but after a full glass I felt a little weighed down. I can't remember the last time I drank that much orange juice. The food comes out and this is where my review is going to get unhelpful. I have no idea what either of these are called and honestly I don't need to know. The flavors were on point for both. One was a traditional seeming empanada with a ground beef mixture on the inside. Not spicy but the flavors were robust. The outer layer of the empanada was also flavorful but fell apart a bit from the heavy sog of beef filling. The taste was still great for all of it and it came with some kind of chimichurri adjacent sauce on the side that was maybe the best thing about the empanada. The second choice was less of an empanada and more of a tart or small pie? It had cheese and corn for the filling and was extremely gooey. Like more gooey than it had any right to be. I don't need to tell you that the combination of crust, cheese, and corn was delicious. If anything it was maybe a little too simple but I could eat that any day of the week and be happy. I got a wonderful table outside under some shade and gave my baby daughter some bites of the meat filling. She loved it. Left after drinking two more cups of the standard mate and felt amazing.

Last Sunday (on the day many were getting ready for their Super Bowl gatherings), I was busy running some errands in Sunnyside neighborhood. All of a sudden, the thought of eating to entertain my 70% empty stomach hit me, I searched for the word "empanada" as I wanted some finger food and this restaurant came up in my search. Upon finding out that it was about 5-10 minutes away from where I was, it was a no brainer to me. This is a Venezuelan restaurant with almost 5-star review. Not knowing much about Venezuelan cuisine, my first thought was that they might have similar dishes as the surrounding South American countries like Columbia do. But most of all, I was so eager to try their empanadas. I've had Argentinian, El Salvadorian, Columbian and Nicaraguan versions of empanadas in the past. I wondered how different Venezuelan ones would be... I was warmly greeted by a young lady upfront upon arrival. This is a small/family style restaurant. The number of tables is very limited but you can sit outside as long as the weather permits. There was a large table of 7-9 people having a birthday party. I think I hit the place during the peak lunch time. Their empanadas are priced at $8 range. This was a bit pricey to me at the first glance but since I didn't know what kind of portion size they'd be made in, I thought I'd give them a try. I got me Reina Pediada, Sweet Domino and Fish. The total came to $27 with some change. Yup, you usually don't pay this much for a few to several empanadas but hey, like I said, I decided not to judge at that point. The young lady who took my order impressed me with some careful attention to detail. I placed my sunglasses at the ordering counter where the space was very limited. She had to move them just a little when she placed the credit card receipt for me to sign it. "I worked in the optics before." is what she said when she gently placed my sunglasses a little to the side in a very careful way. What a kind/considerate gesture that was! This kind of minor and yet incredible care didn't escape my notice. Thank you!!! When my food was ready, the same young lady handed me my bag. It was quite heavy. As soon as I got to my car, I opened it and there they were; my beautiful empanadas were large and dense/heavy!! They appeared to be all deep-fried so I wonder if Venezuelan style empanadas are all that way? Not sure. Anyway, I was on my way to a job duty so I had to eat quickly. I started to take a bite out of each one and ohhh yes, they were dense with a lot of fillings inside. Although I must frankly say that I like the flaky baked kind of empanadas more, these Venezuelan ones were equally impressive. Yes, this was a surprise find. I will definitely stop by here when I'm in the neighborhood for sure.
