I haven't been here in awhile but, it's one of my favorites that my grandma used to make. They have new fillings coming soon. Mushrooms, beef p, chicken and a Italian now. All were excellent. The restaurant was clean and the food and the staff was friendly and helpful. They do make them baked instead of fried like my grandma used to make. Still pretty good

Craving savory empanadas, your search stops here! Their empanadas are delicious! Their fillings are so good and flavorful while keeping the dough soft and flakey. They have lots of indoor/outdoor seating. Not sure if they have WiFi but looks like a nice coworking place and or a place to watch soccer. Dog friendly patio.

I've been going to Maria Empanada at least 5 years now. I never realized that there were 4 other ones, and they're all 4+ Stars. The Empanadas are excellent, and the staff can tell them apart by the script on them. I have no idea what it could be... They usually do 2 Empanadas that are new and about a dozen others. Last time it was a Sweet BBQ Beef & an Italiano. This time it's an excellent Miso Steak & a Corn & Mexican Cheese one. Every Empanadas I've had from there for 5 years, has been just like the ones before. So you'll never have to worry about consistency. And since I saw that there's 5 total & they all have excellent reviews, proves my point even better. The ambience is really homie for an empanada place. They have a big espresso machine, outdoor seating and indoor seating. Inside is maybe 3 separate rooms with a TV viewable from every room!

After eating lunch yesterday this neighborhood gem was across the street. I wanted something to take home and eat for a snack later. I'm a stickler for beef so I bought their types of beef they have and went for a fruit one, their pear and a ham and cheese. That one would be great for breakfast but I ate it when I returned home as I couldn't wait.

Stopped in for a small bite on our way to another event and was not disappointed! A bacon, egg, and cheese empanada is just what the morning called for. This was an absolutely delicious treat. Service was quick and around $5 for a breakfast nosh, can't beat it! Having been to the one in Stanley Marketplace, I can't wait to revisit Maria Empanada on Broadway again!

We were just exploring Broadway and decided to stop in to Maria empanada, because we wanted a little snack, but not a heavy meal. Their menu is stacked, the names of each empanada are unique, I can't remember which one I went with by name, but it was chicken inside, and I got it with the garlic cilantro Crema. It was so delicious.! I almost went back and got another one. But instead, I tried their pistachio alfanores which was also super yummy and rich. Totally will come back to try more empanada varieties!

what shocked me about this place was not just the cute ambiance, but HOW SWEET the server at the counter was!! Felt like he's trying to build a community. A very cute spot to work from home, close to a gas station and other restaurants - cozy inside. They also offer coffee and PASTRIES Empanadas are mediumly priced at 6 each - I'm fine with it because the whole experience is fun. Great musical playlist in here too. It's like I'm transporting to another world

Stopped in for a quick to-go breakfast order between errands on a Saturday. Maria Empanada has plenty of options, and on this day, they had a new flavor: Bacon, Egg, & Cheese. It was filled with fluffy scrambled eggs, thick-cut bacon, a gooey blend of cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, tomato, onion, and a touch of jalapeño. This empanada packed a ton of flavor, and I hope they keep it on the menu! Located on the NE corner at the intersection of S. Broadway and Louisiana, look for the bright golden sun painted on the side of the building. There is plenty of seating inside and patio seating on nice days. Walk up to the counter display to place your orders with the friendly employees who are happy to help or answer any questions you might have.

Very solid empanada and they don't skimp on the filling like some places do! I bet the vibes are fun during world cup matches- we didn't even think to go here during a game but the TV's looked like they were ready to go!

Quickly writing aboit Maria's new flavor! Sweet BBQ far exceeded my expectations. This place is my go-to location of Maria E and each time I go here there is absolutely no disappointment or whatsoever. And I was surprised by a new flavor at my most recent visit there just yesterday and it is Sweet BBQ! I almost always get a few empanadas when I go to Maria E's and along with this new face, I got me one of my go-to's, Potato and Egg (I like their vegetarian options a lot.) And yet, this Sweet BBQ truly shocked me. In a way, it beat the Potato and Egg far exceedingly. The sweet bbq sauce that marinated the meat had the perfect sweetness. And the sauce was just the right amount where it didn't overpower the meat. The store was (as always) spotlessly clean. Service top-notch. There is something special about Maria for sure!

Recently, I visited Buenos Aires for the first time and absolutely loved it! I returned home yesterday and had this strong desire to visit Maria Empanada. So glad this business exists in the greater Denver area. It so reminds me of being back in Argentina and it will inspire me to return again soon. Today I ordered one of their new empanadas, Italiana. It didn't disappoint! I also had my favorite, Argentinian. Always on point! Cappuccino and a small dessert were a nice bookend. I wish Maria would put a location in Castle Rock. Fingers crossed. LOVE this place!!

Loved this concept! Store was clean and staff were welcoming and helpful. The empanadas were delicious. We chose to get a 6 pack. They were easy to reheat and were very tasty.

We have tried breakfast and other empanadas over the years and enjoy trying new flavors each time; have never been disappointed with any of the profiles we have tried; always the perfect blend of ingredients and spices.

While I was there though I was not going to pass up the chance to get some empanadas but since I didn't come with an agenda I just told the guy behind the counter give me two choices of whatever you think is good. I appreciated when instead of questioning or getting confused or asking a follow up he just "you got it boss" and entered in the choices without thinking twice. I knew that he was a real one for this. I got my mate which they have on tap! On tap mate is dangerous but it was very delicious. They had two flavors one mixed with orange juice and one that was simply sweetened (not overly sweet at all. Less sweet than any yellow canned mate you might be thinking of). I tried both choices and the orange juice one was really good but after a full glass I felt a little weighed down. I can't remember the last time I drank that much orange juice. The food comes out and this is where my review is going to get unhelpful. I have no idea what either of these are called and honestly I don't need to know. The flavors were on point for both. One was a traditional seeming empanada with a ground beef mixture on the inside. Not spicy but the flavors were robust. The outer layer of the empanada was also flavorful but fell apart a bit from the heavy sog of beef filling. The taste was still great for all of it and it came with some kind of chimichurri adjacent sauce on the side that was maybe the best thing about the empanada. The second choice was less of an empanada and more of a tart or small pie? It had cheese and corn for the filling and was extremely gooey. Like more gooey than it had any right to be. I don't need to tell you that the combination of crust, cheese, and corn was delicious. If anything it was maybe a little too simple but I could eat that any day of the week and be happy. I got a wonderful table outside under some shade and gave my baby daughter some bites of the meat filling. She loved it. Left after drinking two more cups of the standard mate and felt amazing.

Last Sunday (on the day many were getting ready for their Super Bowl gatherings), I was busy running some errands in Sunnyside neighborhood. All of a sudden, the thought of eating to entertain my 70% empty stomach hit me, I searched for the word "empanada" as I wanted some finger food and this restaurant came up in my search. Upon finding out that it was about 5-10 minutes away from where I was, it was a no brainer to me. This is a Venezuelan restaurant with almost 5-star review. Not knowing much about Venezuelan cuisine, my first thought was that they might have similar dishes as the surrounding South American countries like Columbia do. But most of all, I was so eager to try their empanadas. I've had Argentinian, El Salvadorian, Columbian and Nicaraguan versions of empanadas in the past. I wondered how different Venezuelan ones would be... I was warmly greeted by a young lady upfront upon arrival. This is a small/family style restaurant. The number of tables is very limited but you can sit outside as long as the weather permits. There was a large table of 7-9 people having a birthday party. I think I hit the place during the peak lunch time. Their empanadas are priced at $8 range. This was a bit pricey to me at the first glance but since I didn't know what kind of portion size they'd be made in, I thought I'd give them a try. I got me Reina Pediada, Sweet Domino and Fish. The total came to $27 with some change. Yup, you usually don't pay this much for a few to several empanadas but hey, like I said, I decided not to judge at that point. The young lady who took my order impressed me with some careful attention to detail. I placed my sunglasses at the ordering counter where the space was very limited. She had to move them just a little when she placed the credit card receipt for me to sign it. "I worked in the optics before." is what she said when she gently placed my sunglasses a little to the side in a very careful way. What a kind/considerate gesture that was! This kind of minor and yet incredible care didn't escape my notice. Thank you!!! When my food was ready, the same young lady handed me my bag. It was quite heavy. As soon as I got to my car, I opened it and there they were; my beautiful empanadas were large and dense/heavy!! They appeared to be all deep-fried so I wonder if Venezuelan style empanadas are all that way? Not sure. Anyway, I was on my way to a job duty so I had to eat quickly. I started to take a bite out of each one and ohhh yes, they were dense with a lot of fillings inside. Although I must frankly say that I like the flaky baked kind of empanadas more, these Venezuelan ones were equally impressive. Yes, this was a surprise find. I will definitely stop by here when I'm in the neighborhood for sure.
