I'm lucky enough to have been coming here since my family moved to the area in 1969. It's changed hands and faces but, has always remained a cute little quaint place. Everyone seems to know each other or, at least they look familiar. This morning the only waitress called out that it was this gentleman's 94th birthday and, the whole place sang. That's the kind of place this is. Known for their big delicious sweet roll, we bypassed that beauty. My corned beef hash omelette was gorgeously rolled with corned beef, onions and Swiss cheese. The sourdough toast complimented it nicely. My sister's omelette was equally tasty and loaded with broccoli, sweet peppers and feta. Coffee was hot, the only waitress really hustled and ran the small room perfectly. The menu is standard diner fare with both breakfast and lunch being served. So the food was delicious. It came out pretty quickly. The wait to get in can be long at times. The only negative is the waitress this past time forgot about us once she delivered the food. We finished eating and must have waited 15-20 mins for her to come by to ask if we wanted a to go box, then she went around the entire place refilling every table's coffee? So we waited another 5 mins. At the end, we had been there 30 mins past when we finished eating.. definitely annoying but we will give them another chance cause the food was so good. read more

Ordered hash and eggs over easy with rye toast and coffee. I requested a little crispy for the hash. The cook over did it and it was a bit dark. The waitress noticed and offered to re-do or add some fresh. I opted for some fresh and continued to eat what I had. The additional was fine and I was satisfied. This place is a staple for my family and I! It is in the cutest area, and the inside is small but very cozy and welcoming. All the wait staff is super friendly and kind, and you can tell it's a caring family restaurant. If you are going to get ANYTHING here, get the Mardee's Casserole. So who doesn't like breakfast for lunch? Or even for dinner? Well head over to Mardee's. Atleast for lunch since they close at 2:00 each day. It's a tiny little restaurant in pretty much a residential neighborhood that makes you feel welcome as soon as you walked in. After pouring over the menu, atleast the breakfast part, my husband and I both got the casserole special. His was with over easy eggs, sausage, and sourdough toast. I ordered mine with scrambled eggs, bacon, and rye toast. Both orders came with their breakfast casserole and coffee. The casserole was definitely the star of the meal. It's loaded with hash browns, onions, sour cream, and another secret ingredient. Whatever. It was creamy delicious! Is honestly have to say that it's a dish that tastes way better than it looks. Also, nothing like coffee served in those thick diner cups. One star removed because I had to ask twice before I got my glass of water and no coffee refill until my cup was empty and I had to ask. I went to lunch with a friend here yesterday at noon. There is a small parking lot behind the restaurant and I was able to find a spot there. You can also park on the small side street. This place is one big open room. It gets chilly a little bit, when the door is opened. Masks must be worn until you're seated at your table because of the current Covid rules. There were open seats at the counter. There were also three open tables in the dining room so we sat at a clean one near the wall on the right. There was nice decor on the wall. Near us, there were two small signs mentioning coffee and something else and all around there were beautiful hearts that were cut on the inside as if they were snowflakes. (Like when you cut pieces of paper into snowflakes as a kid. I'm dating myself here, I know.) I asked the waitress how many more tables were set up prior to Covid. She said five or six. It must have been pretty packed in there pre-Covid. I love how spaced out tables at restaurants are now. The breakfast menu is on the front side of their paper placemat along with their advertisers. Their lunch menu is on the opposite side. I'm not sure if that was their practice pre-Covid but I like it. It was very convenient. We ordered the frosted cinnamon roll to split between the two of us . When it was delivered, I was quite disappointed. It looks a lot bigger in the pictures that other Yelpers have posted. It was satisfying and the frosting was good but it's half the size of a bakery in Orchard Park that I enjoy going to. We also wanted to split the casserole special. It came with four pieces of toast. (Two pieces of bread cut diagonally.) I chose sourdough. We chose scrambled eggs and it was a small amount of scrambled eggs on the plate. We had a choice of three or four meats and I chose sausage so it was four small discs of sausage. The "casserole" was a small amount of round glop that was on the plate in a small saucer. The crisp onions were cut a certain way where it was distinct. It tasted good but was a very small portion. This dish was not a casserole and I wish it wasn't touted as such. I expected all of the items to be mixed together as if the whole thing were a casserole. The waitress was really friendly and nice. She came over a few times to ask how we were and to see if we wanted refills on our hot coffees. She thanked me for stopping in, since I don't live near there. The decor was lovely. Because of those things, I gave this place a third star. read more

Clarence Center is ridiculously cute, and Mardee's just adds to the entire vibe of this little piece of heaven in Western New York. There is some parking in their lot, with the majority of the lot converted into an outdoor dining room. There is also ample street parking everywhere. I was only at Mardee's once before this visit and pre-COVID, the dining room was packed with tables. When you enter now, during COVID, the tables are spaced out and come winter, there will be a long wait to get into this place without the outdoor option. My mom and I rolled in around quarter to 11 in the morning, after spending time at a couple nurseries in the area picking out new plant babies. We were seated immediately. There were some other customers that arrived after us, and they waited about 5 minutes at the most before getting seated. The waitress was new, but you couldn't tell. She was very welcoming and friendly. I wouldn't have known that she were new, if she didn't tell us. My mom had the casserole breakfast, which included coffee, meat (she chose bacon), the cheesy delicious hash brown casserole (not a traditional-type casserole), toast (she chose sourdough), and two eggs (she chose over easy). She really enjoyed her breakfast. I had the two egg (scrambled), casserole and toast (sourdough) entree. That casserole was delicious. Try it if you have the opportunity. I don't know if I enjoyed it so much because I barely eat dairy, (just on pizza lately), or if it really was that good, but my mom said it was fantastic and she eats cheese on the reg. It looks like they painted recently and have updated their decor, which I really like the vibes they have going on. They had this large rectangle shadow box full of shells arranged to look like flowers, which was different and unique. I kept wanting to look at it. read more

I actually had a pretty fabulous breakfast here this past Sunday . In the super cute Clarence Center area , there are about 15 tables and a counter in this smallish restaurant, resulting in a short 10 minute wait for a table . Their coffee came out piping hot in a heavy duty mug . I ordered a country scramble with ham as my choice of meat . My father got a breakfast platter with two eggs , English muffin and a special casserole with potato, onion and cheese . The food came out in a reasonable time and I'm happy to say everything was super delicious . My country scramble easily made for two meals . Dad loved his choice , it was a savory breakfast without feeling stuffed afterwards . Super nice servers...food was good...but, took 30 minutes to finally get our meals. First time the service was poor

Staff gets FIVE stars easily, so accommodating and incredibly cool under pressure. With the crowd in the small restaurant, every table full and people waiting to be served, I would have run out the back door and not looked back. But these cheerful servers gracefully refilled coffee cups and got child guests plastic covered straw cups with finesse. The food is fresh and hot, with some creative (albeit highly caloric) offerings. The home fries are really not what we expect here in WNY; they're seasoned french fry nuggets masquerading as home fries. And one of my peeves is not offering half and half for coffee, rather some chemical splash substitute in little plastic containers that essentially never expire. Parking is a challenge due to the tiny attached lot and the popularity of Mardee's. The atmosphere is casual home town in this inexpensive-feeling building, with seasonal decor on the wall and a small counter to sit near the kitchen. The kitchen was quite small as you get a peek in there, but no harder working staff around. read more

The Scarlett Vetter says..... I was in Clarence New York with some time on my hands and I was hungry so I stopped by this restaurant to grab some breakfast. The facility is clean and bright and when I entered I decided to eat at the counter since I was a solo diner. I was quickly greeted and asked for a beverage choice and I ordered coffee. The restaurant does not serve fresh milk or cream with coffee and instead serves the little coffee creamer pods which is not really my favorite. After looking at the menu I decided to order the meat lovers omelette with pepper jack cheese and peppers and onions (which looked delicious when it arrived.) I wanted to try the grilled Italian toast but they were out so I went with sourdough bread. The food came very quickly and I have to say it was fabulous. The omelette was perfect and light with yummy bits of sausage,bacon and ham, some crispy some very moist and lots of it. What I really liked about the peppers and onions was that they had a nice Carmelized flavor but they were large enough pieces that the onion was still crunchy which was delicious. The toast came with light butter on it and it was also very good. I have to say I ate everything on my plate and there was nothing left. Coffee refills were offered the entire time I was there. The server was very pleasant and quickly got me the bill when I asked for it. The place was not crowded but it was doing a brisk business which is probably a testament to how good their breakfasts are. One thing that was somewhat funny was that I sat for a minute waiting for a menu, only to realize that the placemat in front of me had the breakfast menu on it! With tip the bill came to $25 which may seem like a lot for a single diner but it was a meat lover's omelette which was chock full of meat and I ordered additional fillers for the omelet which cost additional money. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a good breakfast joint. read more

My new favorite breakfast place! I loved the small little family run diner feeling I got when I walked in and everyone was very friendly. They had a lot of choices for breakfast and even had some specials not on the regular menu that it was hard to choose. I went with the breakfast sandwich and I was very happy with that decision. It was huge and on a costanzos roll.. need say more? I also tried the "casserole" which was a cheesy potato side and it was decent but I think I make a better one myself at home. The prices were reasonable for the location it's in and service was great and food came out quicker than expected so this place deserves each star! read more

Great little place in Clarence that I was able to try out. Sunday breakfast got there right at 8 and got a table for 6. It gets crowded, plan accordingly. Awesome wait staff. Very attentive never had to ask for coffee refills or water. My friends had the breakfast nachos, and wow they looked so good! Nacho chips with sausage gravy, eggs, cheese and I think bacon. Definitely trying that if I go again! My biscuits and sausage gravy was good too, the over easy eggs were a bit to easy for my liking but still good. Of course I also had the cinnamon roll, and I have to say the hype is real. Huge portion slathered in icing. Nice flavor, but very, very yeasty. More like cinnamon bread. At 5.50 a roll it's worth it to get on it's own with coffee for sure or spilt with your table. I can't wait to head back and try some other things on the menu. read more

Hubby and I found Mardee's through friends that gave us a gift card for Christmas. It's a nice little shop, breakfast and lunch. It's currently decorated with cute and some unique Valentine's day decor. I had the 2-2-2. You get a choice between french toast, waffles or pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 pieces of meat. I chose french toast which was yummy, 2 eggs over easy and crispy bacon. The bacon was perfectly crispy and thin just the way I like it! I also ordered a side of the italian grilled toast. SO YUMMY and perfectly grilled with a little crisp! There was so much food, i brought some home. We ordered a cinnamon bun before our food came and it. was. huge. It also had an odd taste. I think it was the batter. Hubby didn't think it was the greatest either. We wouldn't order it again, but the LA cinnamon toast sounds yummy! Definitely check this gem out! read more

First off, I must say that the service was great (impressive, in fact). My coffee cup never emptied as it was refilled twice with what was really fine tasting coffee. And we were checked on numerous times by wait staff to see if everything was to our satisfaction. However, I was a little disappointed in my meal. Although the ham & cheese omelet was creatively arranged on my plate (deconstructed it seems), its taste and texture was less than appealing. The ham was overdone and dry (like air fryer dry) along with the egg (quite dry). But the meal was redeemed by the excellent grilled Italian toast. Good Italian bread makes everything better! Unfortunately, my sister and I had to nearly shout at each other in order to be heard as the dining area filled with noisy customers. it got quite loud as the morning wore on. But we did have fun singing Happy Birthday to one of the patrons and it was heartwarming to see the sense of community in this charming little restaurant. read more

It's a small, simple place, but it's very cozy. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the owner is nice. Their cinnamon rolls are popular and when you taste them you know why. We ordered one and shared it at the table. It's pretty big, warm, and gooey with delicious icing. It's not too sweet either which is great. The waffles are great. The ones with the berries happen to be one of the specials that day. They a couple of different specials for the day, so you have to check the whiteboard above the counter. First this was my first visit. I met two friends there. One thing is that the staff is great our waitress was always there whenever we needed something and was pleasant. I liked the menu options, every base is covered, but it's not overwhelming. Prices are reasonable and portions are more than adequate.I'm sure no one leaves here hungry. You definitely get value for your money. They do a robust business so my review is just off one meal. I had the bacon and cheese omelette and it was okay, it seemed as if they put the ingredients on top of the omelet, this ensures you'll always get the ingredients in each bite; but to me I prefer them folded into the center. I couldn't finish my omelette, had a few bites left. They offered an English muffin as a bread choice, rarely see that on menu's. but I think it had margarine on it. My friend had the potato problem pancakes and bacon. He loved them but he loves hot dogs from 7-11 so he's not exactly the one to take dining advice from. The potato pancakes were browned, but they were limp, probably held on a steam table. I had a bite, not bad but I've had better. The bacon was small, as in narrow. Overall the entire experience was good, I'm going to go back and try lunch. Then I'll update this review. Bottom line, great service, food was hot and served quickly. Menu is good diner style food. I've been here quite a few times, and each time has been fantastic. I really like the specials on the menu. It is always some crazy awesome like my most recent visit...a cinnamon bun breakfast sandwich. They have a staple in the menu which is their regular cinnamon bun. This is a super cute little diner in Clarence Center. This place always looks packed. When we pulled up it looked like there was a wait, luckily we checked and there were two seats available at the counter for immediate service. The staff was friendly, the place was very clean and social distanced. There were so many great options. I chose one of the specials, the pumpkin pancakes with whipped cream, they were AMAZING. I only ordered one and wish I would have ordered 10. I hope they are a semi regular special this fall. My boyfriend ordered the county scramble. He added spinach and tomatoes which was a very nice addition. The portion was huge. I ordered the corned beef hash... eh I was not a fan. I was hoping for homemade, but it tasted canned. We found this place on the channel 2 (wgrz) segment for cinnamon buns. We went Sunday morning early (8:00) and already the place was half filled. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and my husband had the 2 egg breakfast. Both were hot when they arrived and delicious! The girls were very friendly and kept the coffee coming ( very attentive) Then we took a cinnamon bun home to split because they are HUGE! Also very good! If you get here too early and they are not open yet, just lay down on the lawn out front. It's also known as the "Mardee Grass." This place is owned by Michael J Fox, who named it after his most famous character, i.e. "Marty's." If you want something French, I recommend visiting not on Monday (Lundi) or on Wednesday (Mercredi), but on Tuesday (Mardi). This is an adorable little place with adorable servers and adorable rich Clarence people on hefty doses of expensive prescription drugs, dining on carcinogens, and in that regard it is no different from any other diner. I had their breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. It wasn't anywhere near as good as my fave in the area, just down the road at Ohlson's (Ohlsen's?) Bakery, but it was tasty and hefty and yum. Price was a little over $5 so not too hefty but certainly not cheap. Then again, in Clarence, as Blur once said, nothing is, no. Woo hoo. When I feel heavy metal. So check out Mardees out in adorable little Clarence Center, and be sure to pick up some prescription pills, a new SUV or Lexus, and a hefty dose of being white before you venture into these parts. read more

I just love Mardee's. The service and food, especially breakfast, is always delicious. So when I went with my friends this week I have to say we were extremely disappointed. Each one of us couldn't understand what was wrong. Our breakfast plates were over cooked eggs, burnt sausage, and unbuttered toast. There has to be a new cook. It's just not the same! Went here Sunday at 10:00 AM, prime time for a spot like this but still only about a 20 minute wait, though the waitresses who pull double-duty as hostesses when they can seemed a touch overwhelmed and therefore not efficient with seating guests. There was a table for 4 and a table for 2 which were both open, and two tables for 4 and one table for 2 waiting. The table for 2 was told "grab whatever table you want." They took the 4-top leaving the parties of 4 waiting longer than necessary because the waitress couldn't be bothered to actually seat them in the proper table. After that minor annoyance, things got much much better. For starters, if you've heard of the place you've probably heard about the cinnamon roll. To call it a large cinnamon roll is really misleading, you can't quite judge it against other cinnamon rolls. It's not large for a cinnamon roll, it's small for a loaf of bread. Four of us shared one before our own breakfast entrees came and it was more than enough. Honestly, it doesn't taste quite as good/impressive as it looks, but it's still a warm cinnamon roll covered in glaze, how bad could it be? And honestly, anyone going for a first time should be required to order it because it's jaw-dropping. Pictures do not do it justice. After that, I had the biscuits and gravy special which was two split biscuits with more than ample sausage gravy. Really solid rendition. Mother-in-law had the quiche special which she was unimpressed by, though she did get a side of the Mardee's potato casserole which all of us loved. My wife had a bacon and cheese omelette that she felt was kind of bland, but, oddly enough, the thick-cut Italian toast was a surprising star. Browned on the griddle and literally probably 3/4" thick, it was awesome, I stole half a slice to mop up the excess sausage gravy from my dish. My kid had the Mickey Mouse pancake, which came decorated with whipped cream. She's easy to please when it comes to pancakes, but she really enjoyed it and we all agreed that it was a tasty pancake. She also split a side of bacon with my wife and the bacon was pretty tasty and plentiful. So, there were some mediocre plates on the table, but the hits were great, and I think on a revisit we'll order better overall. read more
