My family and I received a few meals from Marchese's as part of a meal train for our second child. We received the chicken pot pie, cheesy rice casserole, and the chocolate pie. Everything was absolutely fantastic and so easy to heat up. Think HEB Meal Simple but meals that taste like they're from a restaurant heated up in your oven. The pot pie is my favorite and we've since gifted it to another postpartum couple, bought it again for ourselves, and recommended the place to several friends. When my husband went to grab a pot pie for us a week or so ago, they'd just run out and the owner made two new ones for him fresh. This little gem is a must try! I stumbled upon this place through Yelp and I recently stopped by after about a year since my last visit. Well stocked With lots of premade, take and bake, or frozen items, you can't go wrong with anything they serve. You can also find fresh sandwiches and desserts. On this visit, I got the famous pot pie. The individual portion for me is two meals, full of veggies and juicy chicken. I got the side of root vegetables to have later in the week but tasted them and they were well seasoned and baked. I also tried a brownie and it was a dense, crunchy but soft end piece. Just came across this little gem while I was visiting another business in the same strip center! I have been looking for something just like this for awhile now! I have tried the chicken salad (delicious!), the chicken spaghetti (I could eat this everyday!) and the king ranch ckn casserole(also very good!). My husband and I share one of the smalls and have a veggie side and it's always plenty to eat! I plan on using this for any meal trains for anyone that gets sick or friends that have babies! Wonderful little family run business with some excellent home-cooking comfort food. Just discovered it about 6 months ago, and now regularly stock the freezer with my favorites for those evenings we don't feel like cooking. Haven't tried the whole menu yet but best dishes so far are the meat lasagna, chicken pot pie, roasted root vegetables, naan pizza and banana pudding. Some of the rice casserole dishes (like chicken enchilada with cilantro rice) are not so appetizing, sort of mushy and all the same texture. Overall, the prices are very inexpensive for what you get. read more

OK this place is truly a blessing. The food is amazing you they make it freeze it you take it home cook it and it taste like homemade deliciousness. So far I've had the chicken spaghetti amaze balls. King Ranch chicken you will literally make yourself sick eating this because it's so freaking delicious. They saved my Thanksgiving meal. I am single and alone. I had bought one of their turkey and dressing meals to put in my freezer. This year's Thanksgiving I was not able to be with family or friends. My meal was very tasty. Not my homemade dinner but it hit the spot. It was moist and delicious the turkey Was fork tender. LOVED the pot pie. The pasta that I tried was also decent. The pricing is about average for takeout food that you have to heat yourself. There are definitely I few more items I would like to try before recommending. Personally, the only drawback for me is the location. Background: I first discovered Marchese foods while dining at a Houston area restaurant. The menu listed a pasta dish with "Marchese sausage." I asked the waiter what "Marchese" was. He explained that Marchese was a local family which made homemade sausage. I searched online and found Marchese Sausage Company. I sent an email to the person listed, Susan, and got a reply from her the next day. You see, for years,my wife and I had given homemade Italian sausage to our friends at Christmas time. A woman I have known for fifty years made small batches of sausage with her husband until they decided it was overwhelming. Santa was going to be sausageless. Well, Susan and I had a good telephone conversation and we ordered 30 lbs of Marchese sausage which she delivered. Then, when Susan opened her store front, we instantly became regulars. The Food: Let me say that my father's parents came over from Sicily. I grew up on pasta, Sugo, and sausage. Susan's lasagna reminds me of my grandmother's - rich with lots of cheese and sauce. Susan also sells her family's Italian sausage and it is still wonderful. I prefer the spicy version. We have tried most of her products, and her meatloaf is a standout! We also enjoy the chicken pot pies. We call before we go see her, as somethings sell out quickly. Her prices are reasonable If you want great comfort food without the effort, go to Marchese. I bought a large beef enchilada casserole, a side of Cheesy Broccoli & Rice and a dreamy Italian Cream cake, to share with my family in Anahuac. That's about 55 miles east of Houston. This is my favorite take away place in Houston. No idea what to cook tonight? Well stop by Marcheses. I originally came for the King Ranch Casserole (which is AMAZING) but I keep coming back for authentic Italian food. The spice mixture that is used in the meats is incredible. Just spicy enough and we a strong flavor of fennel it complements the pastas very well. We have tried the pot pies as well and never been disappointed. The best thing is the price. A large king ranch casserole runs you $27 but will easily feed a huge crowd. My family of four is easily filled up by the small size dishes that start at $10. I'm here at least once a week for an easy, filling, delicious dinner when I don't want to cook and just want something to heat up. read more

FABULOUS! DELISH! Tried them for the first time last evening. Picked up 4 - $10 trays. Chicken Parm, King Ranch Chicken, Beef Enchiladas and Meat Lasagna. Each $10 tray feeds 2 people. Trays are frozen, you need to defrost first then bake for approx. 30 minutes. I defrosted 2 trays in the microwave then straight into the oven. So far the King Ranch Chicken and Lasagna were great. Plenty of meat and cheese, both items were very flavorful. Tonight we will have the Beef Enchiladas, I know we will not be disappointed. Lovely lady at the front was sweet and helpful.
