I've seen this place on Shepherd and truthfully it didn't look like much except for all the cars parked there and along the shoulder of Shepherd. Curiosity got the better of me and I finally went in. I'm glad I did. This is not a fancy place. It's like a time trip back 50 years. Packed with people who've been evidently coming here for years. Yes, it's kinda loud. Friends kept mentioning coming here so figured it was about time. The biscuit was so light and fluffy. The hash browns I would ask for extra crispy next time. The bacon was a bit salty for me. But all together it was pretty good. I would like to go back for lunch next after seeing it had a Greek flag too on my coffee cup. The waitress was to the point. She was polite. This place seems good for traditional breakfast. It's not for the health conscious. They don't sub or offer grilled chicken with breakfast items. Steak and eggs are $16.49. You get what you pay for. Expect half to be fat and gristle. Service was good though! I worked on it and got some smiles from my waitress. Nobody else speaks or smiles. First time there and didn't know it was steam food line. Waitress was rude and food was tasteless and warm.

Had "traditional " breakfast. Eggs were cooked exactly as ordered and everything else was prepared as expected. The portions were more than enough and the price is comparable to other restaurants serving the same type menu. The service (our server was Melissa) was excellent. She checked numerous times to ensure our coffee cups were full as well as the quality of our meal. Definitely will be returning! read more

ATTN: BREAKFAST LOVERS I wanted a home cooked breakfast and was tired of the usual breakfast eateries. I came here on an empty stomach and glad I did because the serving are pretty large. Our waitress was very sweet and provided exceptional service. The restaurant has a old school diner feel with seating right in front of the kitchen. You can choose between a booth or a table. The food was fresh to order and the bacon is like no other! Try the biscuits and gravy they are so fluffy and delicious. I had my eggs over easy, but you can cook your eggs to your preference. A friend recommended this diner. You can order from the menu or go through the steam table which I did. I had the fish which comes with three veggies. The serving was generous so I had leftovers for a second meal. The fish filet was good and so were the cabbage, carrots and broccoli. A roll was brought to my table. The service was friendly. A very unassuming diner on heavily trafficked N Shepherd Drive. There was a time when there were numerous places like this located all along Shepherd Drive. To my knowledge Simos might be the last one of its kind. I decided to check it out after seeing they offered a Gyro sandwich basket. So I had already made my decision before I walked in. I walked into the diner with its high ceilings and dark wood trim. It had a welcoming atmosphere and people were lined up to order from the day's specials offered at the steam table. I had to walk over and take a look. Everything looked so tempting. The turkey and dressing just about snagged me. But I was craving a gyro. Gyros are hard to come by north of 610N. So I took a seat at the counter and placed my order. A few minutes later I had a platter of thick cut golden fries and a gyro sandwich stuffed to brim with succulent sliced green gyro meat topped off with diced tomatoes and onions and homemade tzatziki sauce all wrapped up tightly in red and white checkered paper. I went for a golden fry. It was better than good. Crispy outer skin and flavorful tender insides. Next I surveyed my gyro. I'm pretty sure that this was the largest gyro I've ever seen. I removed the paper and lifted this Greek taco to take a bite. I struggled with lining up the gyro to mouth and then to open up my mouth enough to take a good bite. A large bite was impossible and I had to settle for what seemed like a small bite. But the small bite filled my mouth and normally would have been a large bite from a regular gyro. The meat was juicy and savory. The oregano and other spices tasted like homemade. I could have made two servings with what I was served. I stopped at about 3/4's and stopped. I still had plenty of fries and decided I would take the rest home with me for a snack later. I would rate the gyro with fries good. Above average and very satisfying. I can't wait to go back and try out the specials on the steam table. Oh and also the breakfast offerings. Nice job Simos'! read more

I got breakfast ordered here during the pandemic and it was delicious!! I was about to easily call to place my order and it was done within 10 mins. When we picked up order it was fast and young lady that was busy but still managed to greet us and help us. More like welp than yelp! Ordered pork chop breakfast to go....very sweet cashier. Ran home to dig in and in about the 4th bite I saw a long dark thin hair in my hash browns. I wasn't expecting a 5 star diner but come on! The order was about 14-15 dollars. Staff needs to wear hair nets. Wanted chicken fried steak and found this place. The chicken fried steak was cooked perfectly I love when it's more meat than dough. The gravy was a little blan and running but the waitress did say it was the last of it. Anyways for a little salt and pepper and just like that it was good to eat with my chicken fried steak lol. Now them green beans were the best!!! And my husband loves his juicy burger. Our waitress was very nice so I give service 5 stars.
