We paid a visit yesterday to celebrate Mother's Day. All the moms were offered a free glass of wine, our choice. So nice! I haven't been to this location in years... Last year I went to the Shepherd location for the first time in years, and was blown away by their pizza, the crust was delicious! I had heard the 2 restaurants have split, so was concerned about the recipes changing. I wanted to try the formal wear pasta (bow tie pasta, cream sauce, mushrooms, chicken, sun dried tomatoes) and also the pizza, so I got the pasta and the pizza and salad. The salad was great, it had a feta vinaigrette and lots of different toppings like croutons, tomatoes and olives. The formal wear pasta was really good, I'm looking forward to my leftovers for lunch today! The pizza however, we were all disappointed in. IDK if it was just an off day or if something has changed in the recipe... It did not bring me back to a few months ago at the other location :( . I'm hoping this was just a one-off; if not, please change the recipe back. To round off the meal, we got an assortment of desserts. The cannoli were good and my daughter really enjoyed her chocolate cake. The Italian cream cake was underwhelming; barely any nuts... I think I tasted coconut once... the cream cheese frosting inside was good, but the frosting on top was a thin layer of plain icing. I just don't see the point in having Italian cream cake if you're going to take so many shortcuts on ingredients--it's not Italian cream cake anymore, just white cake stuffed with cream cheese frosting-meh. I got a margarita, it was still as delicious as I remember. The staff were also very friendly. We had a nice dinner overall, just disappointed in the pizza and Italian cream cake. read more

We've been dining at Spaghetti Western since they first opened the restaurant on North Shepherd on a weekly basis and tonight was the first time we've been disappointed after all these years. My dining partner ordered the Italian Enchiladas only to discover what once was two enchiladas is now only one for the same price point. That's a 50% price increase on a single entree. Our waiter wasn't aware of this change and could only apologize for what was an egregious error on managements behalf. We will continue to patronize our beloved restaurant but will ask questions before ordering from now on. A simple price increase would have been more appropriate . read more

Do not let the outside deter you from coming in. This place has a dusty bar setting but the beverages and the food are amazing! Jose was our server/bartender and he was great at keeping us entertained. One of my best friends shared my birthday week with me and she really likes this little Italian type bar. So she brought me here. Loved my Lemon Drop drink and because their plate sizes here are large my friend and I shared the Pasta Mans Special so good. They do give you homemade breadsticks while you wait so if your unsure about an appetizer these are delicious. Full Bar--Wine---Serve Coke products. In Houston, Spaghetti Western is a great place for the whole family. They have a colorful outdoor patio, pizza for the kids, great italian and desserts for date night, meatloaf and a bar for the sports fanatic. They have excellent service. The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are very generous. Excellent food. They have a nice selection of appetizers but the warm bread is great and the side salad is quite substantial. I enjoyed a house side salad and spaghetti while my husband had a pasta salad, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach. There was enough of everything that we could have just shared one salad and one entree. We had some lovely key lime cheesecake for dessert that had a beautiful presentation. Everything was wonderful. We will definitely remember this place whenever we are in Houston. It was a little difficult to find with our GPS because the main entrance is behind the end of a row of places, so don't give up looking if you don't see it right away. read more

I have eaten here with the family several times over the last ten years and it's always good. I try to get something different every time and tonight I tried Shrimp Pasta. I normally go more toward Scampi but I think the Shimp Pasta might have been the most enjoyable pasta dish I've ever had. I went into spaghetti western tonight to order some to go lasagna, the first thing I noticed was going in was the bartender never wore a mask, the waiter who took care of me was really nice and was doing a great job of taking care of his tables but the lasagna that I got was ice cold in the center when I got at home, The outside was a little bit warm but the inside was just as cold as could be which makes me think it was not fresh and that there was no attention given to the Temperature of the food. Overall it was a very bad experience, anyone who knows me knows that I will give them one more shot even though it probably won't be anytime soon because of the lack of respect for their customers that the bartender gives. read more

Despite having a large group reservation several weeks in advance and confirming the arrangements with the manager, Tyler, the group of 45 arrived and had one server. The one server, Aylin, tried her best. The arrangements were confirmed on 4 different times, including the day of the reservation. Three hours later the last meal arrived. This review is going to be in two parts. A) the restaurant itself and b) the food/experience. Let's begin! Came here for a family members anniversary. You walk in and it's just beat down. Chipped paint everywhere. Old chairs. Old flooring. Just the restaurant I don't think has been painted/maintained/or anything else since it was built. It doesn't smell dirty but doesn't smell clean. Just aesthetically it's in very rough shape. Food: it's your average Italian restaurant. Got a ribeye what was in a Marsala sauce with mushrooms. To quote Gordon Ramsey it was bland and lacking passion. I had to season my steak with enough salt to make a doctor freak out and peppered enough to quite possibly be a pepper shaker. Had a taste of dishes next to me and while they weren't inedible, they sure weren't good. Bland. No seasoning. Just uneventful. There were roughly 25 of us there and we had 1(one) waiter for the entire table. So refills were rare. Just I don't know when you call a restaurant and ask for a big room they don't say "you know we need a second waiter to come in to help this 25 top". They absolutely screwed our server and while it wasn't his fault, it contributed to the mood of the meal. Waiting 15 minutes for a water isn't awesome during dinner. The management failed our guy that night. So, the restaurant needs to be completely renovated, the food is bland and boring, and they put their staff in bad positions. First time to this restaurant. We had gone to the location on shepherd years ago. Looking for another local family friendly Italian restaurant. Sadly, we won't be coming back to this place. The food was okay (large portions). The server tried his best to be helpful and was clearly hustling. The food was slow to the table and we never got our drinks....not because our waiter didn't try...but because the bartender didn't make them. Per our waiter, "he wasn't in the mood." We had ordered a couple of cosmos - something easy (would have preferred a negroni) --but apparently, the bartender (our waiter's boss) just didn't feel like making them. Too fancy? Too complicated? I don't know --but it cracked us up that the bartender didn't make them because he wasn't in the mood to make the drinks. So he didn't. We opted not to order anything else that the bartender may or may not have felt like making. To be clear, it wasn't busy. Maybe five or six four-tops and I counted 4 people at the bar. read more

I randomly came here on my lunch break and I'm glad I did. I was greeted when I arrived and seated at the bar. The bartender was nice and explained the menu to me. Service was pretty good and the food came in a timely manner. The staff was outgoing and other customers were very friendly as well. I felt very welcomed when I was there. I ate the: The Bad Pizza pepperoni sausage and meat balls. It was delicious very cheesy with a good combination of meat. The crust was crispy. Never have and never will eat here!! Made a pick up order for a Pasta Entree over the phone with a older female named Lily or something. Immediate regret when I walk in to see a musty weird atmosphere. Can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. I waited at the bar for about 5 minutes before "Lily" approached me without a greet or even hello. As a server myself I understand this is absolute disrespect and for some reason she personally did NOT like me lol. I pushed aside her weird energy and continued being as pleasant as I could be. Once given the bill I see she charged me extra for a side salad. I asked her politely if that was correct since their online menu perfectly states a salad comes with an entree. Frustrated and rolling her eyes she says, "it only comes with a lunch order and this isn't that" Immediately she calls another employee over to "TALK TO HER" in front of the entire bar which made me very uncomfortable!! Not only was her behavior unprofessional but it was very unsettling! For a woman her age, she has had plenty of time to work on herself and hasnt at all! Reserved the back room for a birthday party. We were very pleased with food, staff and atmosphere. Great place for a birthday party. The murals of all of the Spaghetti Western actors were the perfect back ground for family pictures. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly even though I couldn't find any ugly folks in our group. It is A hidden Houston Gem in Timbergrove. The food was very good! I recommend the Italian Enchiladas. It was enough food for me to have leftovers for the next days lunch. read more
