    Bruschetta and Linguine con Pesto
    Suelynn N.

My friend and I came here for a small lunch and shared Bruschetta and Linguine con Pesto. Both dishes were simply made and wonderful to eat. You can really taste all the ingredients which were wonderfully melted together in unison. We asked to split our pesto into two for sharing. The restaurant was wonderfully decorated and fit the theme of the food along with some private areas for parties, kids room to play in, and a small market corner for desserts, cheese, and all the wines! The staff were very sweet and responsive. They are very passionate about their food here. The restaurant's parking lot is angled a bit different than most parking lots but it is free. Make sure you pay attention to your rear view mirror when leaving or park behind the gates.

For our dinner, we went to "Nundini Chef's Table". We have known Chef Timothy for several years, ever since he worked at Lasagna House-1960. This is when we had the Tastiest Hummingbird Cake and Italian Cream Cake EVER - all made by Chef Timothy. He has been the head Chef at Nundinis now for several years, and we come here as often as we can when we are down visiting. We arrived around 6 pm or so, and were shown to our table. Sierra is our server, and we ordered our drinks. Soon Chef Timothy came over and we spoke for a long time. Chef Timothy asked if we would like an appetizer that is not on the menu, it's "Stuffed Mushrooms". Okay, that sounds delicious, and we all said "YES", because we all LOVE STUFFED MUSHROOMS. While he went to prepare this appetizer, we looked over the menu. Right now, Nundinis is getting packed. Lots of people are arriving, and their Piano player is playing and singing away. This is a nice touch. Some of the customers, the regulars, picked up the mic and started singing songs. Let's just say, they are really good, every one of them, and there were a lot throughout the evening. Nundini Chefs Table is ROCKING on a Thursday Night. Sierra stopped by to see if we are ready to order, and we are. Ann is going with their "Risotto Al Funghi Porcini"; Creamy Italian Carnaroli Risotto with imported Porcini Mushrooms, fresh Mushrooms a touch of Onions & Garlic. Michael is having the "Trenette Con Pesto Genovese"; Trenette Pasta tossed with crushed Garlic, pine nuts, Basil Leaves, Parmigiano Reggiano & Pecorino Sardo all blended with Extra Virgin Olive Oil. He also ordered a "Caesar Salad"; Romaine Lettuce tossed with Parmigiano-Reggiano, muddled Anchovies, Garlic, Egg Yolk, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Lemon Juice & Croutons. My Wife and I are sharing the Wood-Fired "Carnivore Pizza"; Tomatoes, Mozzarella, Spicy Salami, Ham, Speck & Italian Sausage on a Crispy Thin Crust. After taking our orders, Sierra brought out the "Stuffed Mushrooms" on a Huge platter that must weigh 20 pounds. It's heavy and filled with lots of Stuffed Mushrooms in a large bowl with perfectly toasted little toasts all around. We each grabbed some and began a mouth-watering delight of Liciousness. All of us LOVE Stuffed Mushrooms, and we finished this off in no time at all. These have an amazing flavor of I don't know what's in there, but the flavor stays in your mouth, and we are all drooling a little. After we finished the Stuffed Mushrooms, our main entrees came out, and they were all a beautiful presentation of Italianliciousness. Our Carnivore Pizza looks amazing with lots of goodies all around. We Love this thin, crunchy crust. All the meats on there are fresh and very tasty, especially the Spicy Salami - that adds a lot of spiciness to all the other meats. Anns Risotto Al Funghi Porcini covers the entire plate and is enough for two people, easily. She gave each of us some and it's Mushroomliciousness. The flavors of each ingredient in this masterpiece complement each other. Michaels Trenette Con Pesto Genovese is a lot of green, and green is good for you. He didn't share because the guy is still growing. I've had this before, and it is really good. Chef Timothy was in the kitchen preparing lots of orders for their customers during most of our stay, but when it slowed down some, he joined us. Nundinis is changing some to accommodate the neighborhood, and it shows because there are a lot of them enjoying what they offer. Tim showed us their Arcade Room, mainly for the little ones, and it's all FREE - and you can't beat FREE. And they are also preparing more Specials for the near future. We stayed until almost closing and enjoyed the entire evening. Sierra and Chef Timothy earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award and will keep it with the rest of the awards they have received in the past. Check out Nundini Chef's Table on-line and on Facebook - They have it all, and more. Thank You Chef Timothy, for all you do, and you do it deliciously. On the way back to our Hotel room, my Lovely Wife and I enjoyed another Lovely Texas Evening, even in the rain. Love You Baby, Bunches & StuffedMushroomMunches.

Nundini Chef's Table is hands down one of my favorite hidden gems in Houston! It's a cozy, family-owned Italian restaurant that truly feels like home. The Nundini family puts so much love into everything they do -- you can taste it in every bite. The food does take a little longer to come out, but that's because everything is made from scratch -- and it's absolutely worth the wait. Some of the waiters are fantastic and really make you feel welcome, adding to that warm, family-style experience. My favorite dishes are the Risotto Al Funghi Porcini and Fusilli San Marino, but honestly, everything I've tried has been delicious. I'm also a huge fan of their gelato -- it's some of the best I've had! They've added an arcade for kids, which is such a fun touch for families, and I love that you can also shop authentic Italian ingredients right there in their market. Between the food, the atmosphere, and the people, we are always coming back.

Since discovering nundini's, this is my all-time favorite Italian restaurant! Most of the ingredients are from Italy except for the local produce. Always fresh and always authentic! They even have a deli to buy Italian meats and cheeses. They also have homemade gelatos that are out of this world!

    TRENETTE CON PESTO GENOVESE
    Jacob C.

Big pesto guy here, and this was a playful pesto that was most definitely clean-plate worthy. The oily and creamy texture of the pesto provided a pleasant eating experience. An impressive selection of wine was clearly visible and provided a satisfying setting for a date night, or in my case, a celebration of friendship. Even though we did not indulge in wine ourselves, dranks WILL be poured at our next outing. We were well taken care of by our service. My Dominican friend kindly pointed out the bachata music playing which did feel out of place for an excursion into Italian cuisine. Dear Nundini, thank you for feeding us.

    Vivek S.

Courteous host, good food, large selection of drinks and pretty decent ambiance. Will come back again with friends and family.

    | CALAMARI FRITTI |gluten free upon request

Nundini Chef's Table was kind enough to do their calamari fritti gluten free upon request and it was excellent! The carbonara also had a gluten free option. The executive chef, Timothy came out to meet me. He has issues with gluten so he definitely understands. Reverse happy hour on Friday night with select glasses of wine for $5. This is a winner folks!

    Anissa A.

We walked in on a Tuesday night, needing a table for two. The calamari was made just how we like it. I tried an item from their special boards and it was absolutely delicious. My date ordered the CAPESANTE ALLA NUNDINI and he had leftovers that I'm excited to have for lunch tomorrow. I ordered the pistachio gelato and was so delighted when they said my scoop would be free since it was my first time. We will be back! It seems like a great place to bring a group.

The place was dimly lit and there was a lot of seating, both indoor and outdoor. A lot of the seating inside was arranged as couches with low tables, which made for a very casual and relaxing vibe, while the overall atmosphere remained very classy. - Padre's Hotdog (4.5/5): I was told by my friend that this was the best hotdog ever so I had very high expectations and I wasn't disappointed. The bread was very buttery and nicely toasted. The frank itself was very juicy and I loved how the pico and mustard help cut through the fat. The thing that made this hotdog stand out was the cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was delicious and I could probably have just eaten that alone. One thing though, the hotdogs were a bit on the smaller size, you probably would have to order something else or a second hotdog if you were hungry. Would come back again just for this hotdog! Parking/Service: There was a small lot on the side of the building, but other than that you might have to street park in the neighborhood right next to it. The ordering system was a bit of a surprise for me. You have to walk in to the bar and order there.

It's located right at 19th St. and Shepherd near the light. There's a small angled parking lot that can be tight when people park along the fence. It looks like a cute tiny A-frame home with a few patio tables in the front. The inner area has about 6-7 high tables. It's nice and clean inside. The vibe feels similar to H-Town Brewing Co. but on a smaller scale. You can also sit at the bar. I didn't really like the high tables/chairs. They're not as comfortable. It was hot out, and there are mosquitos, so we sat inside. I ordered the salmon plate for steak night. The drinks here are ok, and since I don't really drink, I was looking for mocktail options. In this era, most places have mocktail options with brand alternatives like Ritual, Seedlip and Lyre's or at the least, something with juice, Topo Chico and simple syrup. The female bartender made me a NA margarita which was great. I liked that she didn't make it too sweet or too tart which happens with mocktails that don't have alternatives and are mostly juice or lemon. On the other hand, when I ordered a second, the guy bartender made it too sweet. I didn't like his version. For the alcoholic versions, they seem to have good cocktails, wine, beer and flights. They also have daily specials. Aside from the steak night, they don't serve food here. It wouldn't be my first choice of bars in this area.

When my friend made the reservation, she received an email encouraging customers to visit the tasting room before or after dinner. We showed up an hour early to visit the tasting room, however the host had no idea what we were talking about. Turns out they weren't doing tastings. Luckily, we didn't have to wait to be seated. We initially had a table that was not near a heat lamp, however an employee came over and let us know that we could switch to a table near the heat lamp which was appreciated because it was chilly. Our server was Laura. She was nice and funny. They had $25 flight specials. I went with the Sayanara Flight which had white wines. I really enjoyed them and they weren't too sweet. My friend had an NA wine which she enjoyed. We ordered the Truffle Fries and Meatballs. Both dishes were tasty. I enjoyed the aioli that came with the fries. They had discounted wines for purchase. Not all bottles were 50% off, however the gentleman that we spoke to went ahead and gave me a 50% discount on both the rosé and pinot grigio that I purchased which was so appreciated! It seems like there are quite a few businesses around town that are closing. I'm sad to see Mutiny go, but I'm glad my friend and I got to dine in on their final night.

I often pass by it going through a shortcut to I-45 and sometimes going home around the area. It's literally a 5-minute drive. I booked reservations Friday since I saw they opened up the 31st on Resy. It wasn't earlier in the week, but I knew it was the last day, and my friend and I really wanted to try. I'm glad we made reservations because they were at capacity (150 person capacity) and weren't taking any walk ins. We got there early cause Resy suggested checking out the Tasting Room before or after the reservation time. We got there about an hour earlier, and the host said he didn't know anything about that except that the Tasting Room area was used for events. Interesting. We were seated earlier on the patio on this freezing evening. At first, we were at a table that didn't have a heat lamp, but when one freed up, they were so nice to suggest that we move closer to the heat lamp since they saw us shivering. Lol. We were thankful for that. I wore fleece lined jeans and brought gloves and a beanie anyway having been in the below freezing winter in London. Laura was our server and was kind and funny. So was this other guy who checked in every now and then. He made light of their last day situation. The dining area is so beautiful inside. I love the limestone-looking interior and chandeliers. Reminds me of Fredericksburg or something. They had many large groups and a few small groups of friends or couples dining on this last day. Way to go out with a bang. A lot of the wines were selling out or already sold out around 7-8 pm. We tried the truffle fries and Sicilian meatballs with focaccia bread. I like the thick cut of the fries and the black garlic aioli. It reminded me of yuca fries. The Sicilian meatballs were a bit small, peppery and salty. I wish the marinara was a little more tart. The focaccia helped cut through the saltiness. I had 2 glasses of the NA Sauvignon blanc which was light and a little tart. They ran out of the NA red blend. My friend ordered Sayonara, one of their farewell flights which were aptly named for "goodbye". It was a great night on the patio but chilly. My friend purchased a rosé and a Pinot Grigio as part of their Last Sail wines. Actually, the Pinot Grigio wasn't part of the sale, and he was going to take off 20%, but he also made it 50% off. So nice!! I'm glad we got to try them on their last day. Bon voyage, Mutiny.

The décor, wine list, menu, comfortable seating, and cozy atmosphere make it such a special spot. They offer wines for every taste and budget, and the staff is knowledgeable when asked for recommendations. That's why this is difficult for me to write. Despite visiting frequently, I've consistently found the customer service to be unwelcoming. The service has a strange tone, and it isn't limited to one employee they all seem to share the same indifferent, slightly annoyed demeanor. The experience feels less like genuine hospitality and more like, "You're here what can I get you?" On my most recent visit, others in my group noticed and commented on the same thing without any prompting from me. Since they had never been before, it confirmed that it wasn't just my perception. One small interaction captured the overall tone. We asked whether they happened to have a birthday candle, and an employee responded in an annoyed tone by pointing to the candle on our table which, realistically, no one would put on a birthday dessert. We completely understood that they might not have one; it wasn't an unreasonable expectation or request. A simple, friendly response like, "Unfortunately, we don't, but we do have some delicious desserts," would have been perfectly fine. It wasn't the answer that bothered us. it was the way we were made to feel for asking. It may seem like a small interaction, but great hospitality is built on small moments. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting, but unfortunately, the service doesn't reflect that same feeling. People return to places where they feel welcomed and appreciated, especially in a city like Houston with so many wonderful food and wine options. I genuinely want The Library to thrive because it has everything else it needs to remain a true neighborhood favorite.
