Showed up at 1245 for the 12-2pm buffet. The buffet table was quite depleted but was told" new food coming". The only new food provided were a tray of deep-fried chicken balls and egg rolls. There was no vegetable dishes. The soup was a thin layer in the bottom of a pot. The dozen or so patrons in the restaurant were forced to scrape the bottom of the food containers for the scraps of food available. There was one tray with some greasy fried rice, another with a handful of noodles. And that was it. It was so unbelievably horrible i took some pictures and have posted. This was the state of the buffet at 1pm, halfway through lunch service. So, so disappointed to be charged 12$ for this. There are good buffet places in Ottawa, but this is not one of them. Based on my dismal experience i would strongly recommend that you give this one a pass.

This evening ( 31 August 2025), we ordered a dosa and egg muppas ( entree) for our dinner. To our surprise, the muppas were served within no time, while the dosa was served well after 25 to 30 minutes!! For any Indian foodie, this would immediately raise suspicion about the food, as the dosa should not take any time to prepare, while the other than takes some time to cook. Anyway, when I tasted the eggs on the entree, the yoke was very cold and the bread served with the entree was also just lukewarm. When I questioned the waiter, why the yolk is so cold, she did not answer the question and was trying to persuade it is ok. Upon further pushback, the waiter said, this food was served in the afternoon buffet and we just used the leftover food!! They serve recycled food and expect the customer to pay the full price and they do not want to even hide that!! So if you choose to visit this restaurant, make sure you get the fresh food.

The Long Version: My first visit to this casino was before I moved to Ottawa. I was living in Montreal and visiting a friend who was doing his co-op placement in Ottawa. He was playing tour guide and showing me around the NCR and the casino was on his list. We walked around and I played some slot machines. My friend played some roulette. Neither of us won any money :( But we did get some free coffee and soft drinks at the self-serve dispensers, haha. I'm not a huge gambler, so even after I moved to Ottawa, I did not return, until recently. And my reason for returning was actually to eat at Arome, one of their restaurants, with my husband. Since we were already there, I figured why not experience the casino a bit after dinner? My husband and I walked around. My husband played some slot machines, a fish-themed one and a buffalo-themed one. He won a small amount. Most people would likely have kept on playing, lol, but we like to quit while we're ahead, haha. The casino was clean and did not smell bad (like the Shorelines Casino at Thousand Islands did the last time I was there). There's also a theatre at the Casino where you can see shows.
