The veggies are really delicious, packed well and fresh. Great system with leave the empty container for pick up and they leave a replenished container. Love the variety of what's delivered each week. We also like that we can add to our order other items as we need/want them a la carte like chia seeds, eggs or yogurt. A huge selection. I think this happened recently, or I just noticed it when I was browsing the goods for a la carte items but they have also partnered with some bakeries and you can order fresh baked items to come with your delivery. My personal favourite are the baked goods from Wild Oats. The brownie, oh it's just so good! We also really love that they deliver to our neck of the woods in the country (Dunrobin). The deliveries have been on point and reliable. The Customer Service at the main office is terrific. I personally think the cost is about the same as the grocery store but a much better selection, fresher and it makes our life so much easier just having this big glorious box of freshness delivered every week. Plus, we are supporting local and not big box. I like that. Highly recommend.

Welcome to Ottawa Spread......thank you for coming…read more Spread is of the farm to table concept and the owner Jules comes from a catering background in Toronto where she owned Pan Bagna Catering which specialized in France and Italian lunch cuisine. She moved to our glorious city - to get away from the ridiculousness of Toronto (my words) so if you work anywhere downtown you can order from their awesome menu which includes the following sandwiches.....Roast Paprika Chicken with a Creamy Dill, Lemon, and Honey Coleslaw or how about Pastrami, Sauerkraut and Russian Dressing......I opted for this one. Super fresh and great flavors. My sandwich came with the Potato Chips and homemade Three Onion Sour Cream and Pickles Dip.....ok I will confess the Philly Sour Cream Dip you buy at Beckers is one of my secret go to's.....I could kill a whole bag of ruffles and that dip. This dip kicks the crap out of that times 100.....i'm glad I can't buy this at Metro or I would weigh 500lbs by xmas. The onions are perfectly caramelized to add such a sweetness to the dip.....ummmmm - I may need to order some tomorrow. and the pickles.......ok, I hate dill pickles.....always have, but apparently they have changed me.....they make their own, and it's a combination of sweet and sour - very crispy and sweet.....nummy. my dessert was their butter tart......I have a weakness for butter tarts and they certainly stepped up to my tart fetish, and for the record their homemade butter tart is $1.50....pretty sure I've paid double that before. They are set up to supply lunch for your office - they will be doing their deliveries via bike courier, so for the "green" people out there that should make you happy. Enjoyed those too. - though honestly I was over-full by the time I finished everything. Things to know: They will cater. They will also do a thing where they drop by with an assortment of sandwiches and people can buy what they want. All in all, loved the product - and the service. Terrible not good Quality DO NOT SIGN UP…read moreThey will not stand up to their end on Quality. The Owner hung up and would not help and said that I was emotional. No doubt but who says that. So disappointing. They won't cancel your contract so your stuck feeding your family poor quality

We did a spread sheet on what we ordered, after we had a in home visit from one of their sales rep…read more The price on their dried goods and canned goods was about a 1/3 the price of what you would pay at grocery stores. awesome ( but that's how they sucker you in) But what they "do not show" on their grocery items selection list is the price of their meats. When you ask about their prices they won't answer and try to push you along to order. Saying they have low prices because they cut the middle man (distributors and grocery store locations...) So what I did is put everything on a spreadsheet, My years worth of groceries order with CHG was just under $4000 I knew how much in lbs I was getting of each meat item. So I totaled up all the dried goods and canned items, came up with $500 $4000-$500= $3500 So that means I'm paying $3500 for their meat. I then went through each meat cut I ordered,( chicken breast, whole chickens, pork, sausages Bacon....) Found online the price per lbs at various local grocery store and started adding that up. Guess what?! For the same amount of meat in lbs that I was buying from CHG I was only spending between $1200-1500 buying from local grocery stores. That's about $2000 extra I was paying CHG. Yeah I save on their dried goods and canned stuff but not enough to justify overpaying for their meats by almost $2000. That's why they don't show you their price for meat cuts. With CHG you pay a set yearly price A,B,C,D. The sales rep suggested she go with C for our size family, not really explaining why. Maybe my scenario is a bit off, but not by much, I would strongly suggest you do your own calculations like I did. Unless you don't mind paying more for having your groceries delivered to you. If CHG could be upfront about what I'm paying for "everything" then maybe I would consider going with them, when I would find it convenient to pay more to have my food delivered.

TL;DR/The Short Version: Independent coffee shop in…read moreWestboro. Minimalist interior. Good selection of baked goods and they also sell coffee, lol ;) The Long Version: The Bower Coffee Company opened up about a year ago in the summer of 2024. Usually I like trying out new businesses that open up in my neighbourhood, but admittedly I'm not a coffee connoisseur. I doubt I'd be able to tell the difference between a $50 cup of Kopi Luwak and a cup of Folgers instant coffee, lol. So coffee shops don't really excite me. However, I recently learned that Bower Coffee Company sells baked goods from a business called Adam Bakes. I've been wanting to try treats from Adam Bakes for a while now, but they are only open on Saturdays 8am-12pm and not in my neighbourhood, so their limited hours have prevented me from trying them. I didn't realize that they also sold their baked goods to other businesses for resale, so when I discovered this, I planned a little coffee date for my husband and I at The Bower Coffee Company :) I chose a Cinnamon Swirl Blondie from Adam Bakes ($4.85) and my husband chose a Peanut, Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip cookie from Art-Is-In Bakery ($5.25) and we got a regular 12 oz coffee ($3.25). The coffee tasted like any other coffee to me (unsurprising, lol). My husband is more of a coffee connoisseur than I am and his comment was it was a bit too watery, but otherwise ok. I loved the Blondie. It was rich and I think there's cheesecake swirled into it because it had creamy bits to it. It had a potent cinnamon flavour. I really enjoyed it and so did the hubster. I ended up hauling my butt out to Adam Bakes the following Saturday morning to try their other offerings, which weren't available at Bower Coffee. Adam Bakes will get its own review. I noticed that the prices are cheaper buying directly from Adam Bakes than at Bower Coffee, but I guess that's not surprising. The cookie was unremarkable in my opinion, but the hubby enjoyed it. It had whole peanuts in it as well as peanut butter and chocolate chips. It was soft and chewy, and the whole peanuts gave it the occasional crunch. Service at Bower Coffee was great. The barista asked me for the Blondie if I wanted a centre piece or an edge piece. I know some people like the crispiness of edge pieces, but I prefer the softness of centre pieces, so I was happy to be asked. The decor is clean lines minimalist. It's not a huge space, but has a decent amount of tables. It was bustling on a Sunday morning. Overall, a nice place for a coffee date, albeit a bit pricey in my opinion, but I get it, everything is expensive these days :/ We walked there, but it's street parking only for those coming by car.
