Caesar salad (out of the containers and mixed)
    Amanda B.

We hadn't ordered Topper's in awhile so we thought we'd try it again. We got Caesar salad, a regular 10-piece order of BBQ wings, another order of hot wings, a regular size pizza of the Pepperoni Explosion limited-time offer, and an extra dip of Topper's Famous House Dip. The Caesar salad came with lettuce, bacon bits, Parmesan, croutons, and salad dressing that you mix in yourself. My husband mixed it, but the bacon bits came in it, so you can't pick it out if you don't eat pork. It was good, though the dressing was mild and the salad was a little warm because it was with the hot pizza and wings. For the wings, you have the option of either baked-in flavours or plain with sauce on the side. The sauces aren't the same, which I find a bit odd, since you should be able to get the baked-in flavours on the side, too. My husband wasn't super satisfied with the wings, as he swore they used to be grilled and that's what he was expecting, but I actually liked them baked and thought they were pretty meaty and juicy. The barbecue sauce wasn't too sweet, either, which I preferred, though the hot sauce could've been hotter. The limited-time Pepperoni Explosion pizza was great. I was only able to eat a few slices before my husband scarfed down the rest, so I can confidently say he really enjoyed it as well haha. It had extra mozzarella and extra pepperoni (both the regular and the extra charred "Roni Cups"). We both really liked the charred pepperoni cups - they added a lot of extra flavour and texture. Though the pizza was a little rounder instead of square like on the website, they cut it into squares, which I also personally preferred because for some reason it felt like there was more! The Topper's house dip was good, creamy, a little garlicky, and no different than I remember, though we wouldn't buy the bottle now like we used to. If you're a fan of it, though, it seems like a better value to buy the bottle for $6 (8 servings) instead of a small container for $1.25. It wasn't fancy or the best pizza or wings we've ever had, but it was a good meal and we were super stuffed. I'm sure we'll order again from here again in the future.

Do not order gluten free pizza from this location! I don't know why but every time I order a gluten free pizza it's dry or it's missing toppings or delivery doesn't show up. It's been 4 times now and I will not be ordering from here again. I've logged in multiple calls and complaints and nothing. Disappointing that they don't care about their customers. It's too bad since as someone with celiac it's hard to find good gluten free pizza. I feel like they are discriminating against me or have some prejudice against people who eat gluten free since my husband's pizza which are regular glutinous pizza are always to satisfaction.

Look what I found here! A brand new wing place. So, when I called and asked about what makes their…read morewings so special, here's what I was told.... The wings are fresh and never frozen, halal and made to order with a crap load of house made sauces. The onion rings are made in house from scratch. The order: 20 wings with onion rings - instead of the 3 sauce offer, I asked for 4 sauces and while they said it was and extra $2, they didn't end up charging me extra. That was not necessary but nice. The good: I ordered for pick up and when I went t to get the order, they had it ready for me. The place was really clean and the staff is pleasant and very helpful. I got the spicy mayo, Parmesan, hot honey and honey garlic. They were all really good and I certainly don't have any complaints - from a personal perspective, I just wouldn't get the spicy mayo. That's kinda silly. The bad: I would have really preferred if they had a Parmesan garlic instead of just parm - kinda boring ya know. Still decent though when dipped into franks red hot! Also, I would really have preferred if they actually had a Buffalo sauce - they don't and a quick taste of their hot, don't really scream Buffalo. Look, do your fancy wings but you gotta respect the Buffalo - it's just what is expected! Make a fancy buffalo sauce like Primal Kitchens but you still gotta have a Buffalo! Overall, quite happy with the quality of the wings - they were not overly fatty and the meat was perfectly cooked without any burnt or dry spots. The skin had a good snap to it (I went with classic cos breaded ain't my thing...) Will go back again to see what the fries are all about. Total bill $33.99 plus tax = &38.41

It's always been a special morning when we got Broadway for breakfast. They're a similar restaurant to Zak's Diner; with great food and their signature Homefries (that could sometimes use a bit more seasoning). You can get their Homefries anytime, even after breakfast, but their quality isn't as good as fresh in the morning. On top of just the food, the have amazing service. The staff is always happy for a quick chat or there for a good recommendation. In terms of speed, it depends on when you come, but provided you know what you want, it can be as little as 5 minutes (the time it'd take to drive to the store). Now to the Ambiance. The place is inspired by NYC's Broadway (specifically their Musicals) so the restaurant's walls are decorated accordingly. Overall, this is one of my favourite restaurants in all of Ottawa, and probably my favourite one for eating breakfast. My only qualm is asking that the Homefries receive more seasoning, but that is something so minor that it shouldn't result in the loss of a star from my review, and similarly it only really happens when I order takeout. Edit: I forgot to mention that from what I've seen, the owners are great people. Some of their staff have worked for over 10 years (some over 20), and they still have good things to say of their bosses (the staff, I mean), which is not something you tend to see. Also, this place is locally owned and operated.

TL;DR/The Short Version: Cafeteria-style Filipino restaurant in Bells Corners. Great prices, but…read morefood was too oily/fatty/greasy for my tastes. The Long Version: This Filipino restaurant opened up July 28, 2024 where LeeGa used to be. I dropped by for some takeout lunch. Their combo is a great value. For $10.99 you get noodles or rice with 2 main dishes. It's cafeteria style, so they have what's available in trays and you just tell them which items you want. The drawback is you are limited to the selection they have that day. Also, none of the items are labelled so if you don't know what it is, you have to ask. The day I went, (a Sunday) their selections were fried shrimp in shell with corn on the cob, squid, fried chicken wings, a beef with peppers dish in an oily broth, a pork belly dish and a vegetable dish. The noodle dish was Pancit Canton. I went with the noodles, chicken wings and the beef. I asked for no broth with the beef because I didn't want all the oiliness getting into the wings and noodles, so the lady actually put it in a separate container, which I thought was nice. She still gave me lots of the oily broth though, lol. The beef was full of fat and swimming in oil. I wasn't a fan, but at least it had actual lean pieces of meat in it, in addition to all the fat. I just had to do a lot of work cutting off all the fat, lol. The meat was tender and flavourful. The fried chicken wings were great though. Very flavourful and not any greasier than chicken wings at other places. I got 4 pieces, 2 drumlettes and 2 flats. The pancit Canton was good. It had vegetable in it like snow peas, carrots, cabbage and bell peppers. It also had pieces of pork belly in it, but the pieces were really fatty, so I didn't eat them. I got a huge portion of noodles! In terms of value for money, this place is awesome. Easily 2 meals can be had from the combo. The actual food, particularly the beef and pork belly in the noodles, was too oily/fatty/greasy for me. I realize this might be the style for this type of cuisine, but it wasn't to my liking. The flavours were good though. For me personally, since I like lean meats and food that's on the drier side, I would rate 3 stars, but I get that the dishes were likely by nature more fatty and honestly, if they had other selections like BBQ chicken, I would have gotten that instead. So I'm giving 4 stars because I think for what it is, it was good and I have a soft spot for independently owned local businesses. Service was neutral but efficient. There's seating to eat in. Ambiance is fast food-like. It's in a strip mall with free parking shared amongst the businesses in the strip mall. (160)
