So we came here on recommendation from a colleague plus I had a huge craving for pizza. The ambiance is very nice. Its classy& cozy. We were immediately greeted with smiling faces and a sweet welcome. We got the Hot Shot and Sweetheart with a side of garlic dip & chili oil. Garlic dip was flavorful without being overwhelming and chili oil added a nice hint of spice that didn't alter the delicious flavors of our pizzas. The pizzas came out piping hot and my goodness, these were hands down, the absolute most delicious pizzas. The crust was charred just nice with big, crispy bubbles. You could hear the crunch when cutting through with a knife & with every bite. These are thin crust pizzas with tender toppings which made for an amazing mouth feel. Side note: if you are a deep dish lover, these pizzas aren't for you but still worth trying. read more

Pretty much everything about this place is a class act, the servers are wonderful and professional and great Had olives, chicken wings and pineapple pizza, with prosecco Chicken wings and pizza were just fantastic, olives were not impressive actually, one minus, lots of Castelvetrano olives and I didn't like this so much. Big Drew THINKS he's a pizza aficionado but he's really just a wing monster. These jalapeno sweet smoked wings were one of the most DELICIOUS flappers I've eaten in years (aside from my own). I had heartbreaks pizza last night with a friend for a girls night in. We got a large cheese pizza and a green salad. The pizza was so so good. The crust was chewy (how I like it) and the cheese was best colour! The salad was very nice and I loved the vinaigrette, however it did come with a lot of cheese on top. It was a takeaway order, so very minimal interaction with the staff, but the staff were very pleasant. Top 3 pizza place in Ottawa doing NYC pies. They used to have some phone issues but it's been much better since late last year. They source some nice ingredients and I've tried the pepperoni and the sausage and fennel pizzas. Both are really good. I wish they undercarriage was a bit crispier but the rest of it is really good. Staff are always friendly and awesome. Pay attention to where you can park as the parking situation is a bit limited if you're doing pick up. read more

The husband and I haven't had the chance to buy directly from the Heartbreakers restaurant, but we've ordered their pizza kits a few times through Burrow Shop's online grocery store. They're Burrow Shop's Mealshare items, which means when you buy them, Burrow Shop provides one simple, healthy meal to a youth in need through Mealshare. Win win win! We've tried the pepperoni and the "Fun-Guy" pizzas, and there's also a plain cheese option. The make-at-home kits come with two pizza doughs, cheese, and sauce, $24-28 per kit. The pepperoni pizza kit comes with tomato sauce, aged fresh mozzarella, dry-cured pepperoni, Grana Padano, and fresh basil. The "Fun-Guy" is a white pizza with toasted mushroom cream instead of tomato sauce, whole milk mozzarella, Le Coprin mushrooms (cinnamon cap, phoenix oyster, king eryngii), Grana Padano, and fresh parsley. I think there's actually a couple kinds of mozzarella (regular pizza mozzarella and fresh mozzarella, or another soft cheese I embarrassingly can't identify, so they're more like 3-cheese). They also come with instructions, including leaving it out for 2- to 3-hours, so plan accordingly. The first time around, we only made one pepperoni pizza and didn't have a rolling pin, so we really messed up the dough and poked a ton of holes in it, which was both hilarious and a learning experience, but still tasted great. After trying to stretch it out with our hands, we realized we should've just made both, but there wasn't enough time (aka we were hangry) to let the other one sit out. We learned quickly and just made one each the next few times we got them (last time was with a rolling pin that I got as an early Christmas gift to help this problem). The pizzas are meant to be rolled out as thinly as possible, so it's really not as big or heavy as you might think, but take that from someone who eats a lot lol Both pizzas are very different but equally delicious. The second time we had the mushroom pizza, my husband added some deli meat to his, which is always a plus of making them yourself at home and adding whatever you want. I normally choose thin crust pizzas whenever I have the option, so these are totally my kind of pizza. I wish there was more cheese, but I eat cheese in excessive amounts, so I'm sure it's the normal amount for non-cheese-obsessed folks. I really appreciate the different cheeses, high-quality pepperoni and mushrooms, and great sauces. The husband is a big pizza guy, so he really just wishes there was more, but other than that, we think they're great and can't wait to try them freshly made by Heartbreakers whenever this pandemic lets up! read more

Stopped by for a "snack" and ended up ordering 3 small pizzas! This isn't the typical Ottawa "greasy" cheese pizza. If you like thin crust, NY style pizza, this is the place to go. My favourite was the Lovely Cheese. Simple ingredients but great taste. The Sweetheart was a good recommendation but the honey made it a bit sweeter than what I'm used too. Finally, the Fun Guy is great if you like mushrooms. Be warned, it is strong mushroom taste! Make sure to get the garlic dipping sauce if you enjoy extreme garlic flavour! read more

My friend ordered three pizzas for a gathering this past weekend: Hawaiian, fun guy and margherita. The dough was thin but had really nice mouthfeel and the toppings were fresh and tasty. I ate the margherita and the Hawaiian We had a pizza malfunction with another restaurant and so my friend quickly ordered at the last minute from Heartbreaker's and they rose to the challenge to provide fresh pies for our gathering. Another friend picked them up, so I don't know about the delivery situation. No one was disappointed and 3 larges fed about 10 people, many whom had seconds (and thirds!) I don't ever leave reviews, but I wanted to leave one for this amazing place. I remember reading about this place just before the pandemic and thinking their pizza looked awesome. I was worried that they didn't survive all of the shutdowns, but thankfully they are still here. I've missed having this kind of pizza since moving to Ottawa. It was at a point where I was waiting for the border to reopen just so I could go and get some real pizza in NY. Thankfully, Heartbreakers exists and have proven that great pizza is being made right here in Ottawa. I ordered the "Lovely Cheese Pizza" on 10/25/21, and it was absolutely perfect. It reminded me of some of my favorite pizzas I've ever had. Perfect amount of sauce, good quality cheeses (as evidenced by not only the taste, but the complete lack of grease dripping off each slice), and the crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside. I'll be coming back, repeatedly. Words truly fail to accurately convey how great this place is. read more
