I love caramel popcorn, so dipping that in whipped cream was a real treat. The donut pop was really marshmallow covered in chocolate that I didn't care for. A snickers bar would of been a better addition. Consistency: I was worried about the blend because it took a while to put together and the milkshake sat in the blended for some time. After the first sip I was convinced that marble slab couldn't turn out a decent milkshake, but I continued to sip and the blend wasn't half bad. Not a lot of resistance, but better than my previous milkshakes. Appearance: Being able to watch the creation of this milkshake was a special treat. The drizzling of the caramel around the jar, the correct usage of whipped cream to hold heath bar pieces, and the toppings were a great touch. It looked like it tasted and I was very pleased by this. Well, if you've been to a marble slab, then you pretty much know how it works. You wait in line, you figure out what you want: whether its' something off the menu that they'll mix for you, or if it's just a scoop or two of ice cream of your own choosing. I've been to this location A LOT (I admit I have a small case.... ok FINE! a BIG CASE of sweet tooth!) and every time I go, I've never had an issue with the ice cream, or cake, or the staffs not speaking much English. They ALWAYS get my orders right. But then again, it's kind of hard to screw up an ice cream order when you just point to the wall and say "I'd like a small cookie dough drizzle" or, "small vanilla", or even pointing at a cake and say, "one cake". But once you start mixing in some of the extras you don't mind. Get some chocolate chips or cherries or crumbled up candy bars or sprinkles or...whatever looks good in your scoops. Usually there is 20 or so different flavors available. A free taste of any before you buy your serving. The counter folks are always friendly and it doesn't take long to get in and order and get out. Parking is usually easy breezy. It never seems to be too busy but there always seems to be a few folks enjoying their sweet treats at the little chairs outside. Had a negative experience today. First of all, I noticed that the staff gave me a really small portion, and for the amount that they charge per scoop I really thought that was unacceptable. Secondly, whoever was ringing up my order clearly could not count. I kept trying to tell her I was paying for three cones. I even spoke to her in Spanish because I could see that she was speaking Spanish to her colleagues. And yet somehow she kept trying to charge me for four cones. That was my problem: I was trying to name some regular toppings from my head without looking at the toppings they had. Just went to get some ice cream at this location and even though they have an open sign is hard to tell if they are really open or closed I open the door noticing than no one is at the counter ask a couple of times Hello hello anybody here when finally an employee appeared from the back with his AirPods on not even bothering removing them. We sat on the bench outside and watched Westheimer traffic. All in all, we spent $12 on a very mediocre experience, which reminded me why I haven't been to a Marble Slab in probably 10 years. Yikes. My family and I were extremely hesitant to enter the store, seeing that the three employees working didn't have masks on. But we were out celebrating my birthday, so we thought to give them the benefit of the doubt and that they'd put on their masks once we entered. Given the rating, you can probably guess we were wrong. Only one of the employees put their mask on, which was a girl who told the others to put theirs on as well. The male employee also working responded with "I'm not putting it on, I don't give a shit," right as we entered. Maybe he thought we wouldn't have heard him because of the door chimes, but he was so loud it was impossible. This male employee also talked the entire time while making my ice cream :), without a mask (to reemphasize). They also over charged us at $26 when we were supposed to pay $20. We patiently pointed this out, and received no apology. The mistake would not have mattered if it weren't for the fact they were arrogant enough to not wear a mask in the first place. Unfortunately, this location has gone extremely downhill. While the quality of the ice cream is great as always, I can't say the same for the mannerism of the employees and service. read more

This location is in the Carillion shopping center. They have plenty of outside and inside seating. The outside seating is shaded, so a perfect place to enjoy an ice cream cone. Marble slab has a variety of flavors, but they were only just ok (I tasted 4 or 5). They have a bunch of different things you can mix into your ice cream too. They have waffles cones and waffle bowls as well as the regular bowls and cones. The guys working there were efficient. Overall, it was a nice Sunday snack, but I wouldn't make a special trip. I prefer the places where I get to put in the different toppings so I can control the ratio of ice cream or yogurt to topping. They generally greet you quickly upon walking in, and they always have at least 20 different flavors and a dozen different mix-ins on hand. Their prices have started to get a bit steep, but there's nothing like their ice cream with mix-ins.
