we have loved creamistry in the past. it has been a year since we visited. when we entered the store, we were the only patrons. a few patrons entered after us. my husband and I ordered a small and a medium and it was over $20. he ordered the Caramel Brownie Batter. it was chocolate ice cream with a drizzle of caramel and a few brownie pieces. nothing really special. I ordered cookies and cream with strawberries mixed in. after 15 minutes of ordering, mine was incorrect. we had also asked for ours to be double frozen. neither were. they were both melting before we exited the parking lot. this was a very disappointing visit. I'm including a screenshot that I received on my phone during our visit. the link said our order would be ready btw 7:51-8:01. you can see my screenshot at 8:10 and the order STILL wasn't ready. and a few minutes later, it was incorrect. I took the order bc we were tired of waiting 20 mins for 2 scoops of ice cream. read more

At Creamistry instead of seeing all the flavors in front of you like a regular shop, you pick from their menu, they get the ice cream & then mix it. I got the Cinnamon Crunch with cookie dough mixed in, it wasn't as sweet as I expected, so it wasn't my favorite, but I'd definitely come back to try other flavors. read more

Always great and owner is super friendly and attentive to customers. Can't go wrong here on a hot day or even a cold day. One of the best ice cream places in Katy Texas if not all of Houston. This was my first experience at Creamistry, but it certainly will Not be my last. I asked the young lady to explain the process. Once I reviewed the menu, I selected a Nutella with caramel and fudge. The flavor is velvety and buttery. Everything you could ask for in a delicious ice cream. Flavors are subjective to preference. What I ordered though, I adored. This was my first time ever trying this place and thought it was a cool experience! I chose the cookies and cream and added Oreo inside. The whole process is pretty neat and I loved how it doesn't melt super fast. The large was about $12.50 with tax. It is on the pricier side but happy I was able to experience it. We went when there was no one in line, so that was nice! I'd definitely go back and try more flavors! read more

I'm from the Midwest but was out in Katy visiting a friend. It was the end of July so... it was hot! We needed ice cream! She suggested Creamistry and I was excited to check it out. I have never been to a place that prepares ice cream in such a fun and unique way. The process is a lot of fun being witness too! The employees work fast and effortlessly! It's pretty pricey so I don't think I'd make this a regular spot, but it's definitely a good way to switch things up when you want a beautiful dessert. There are some positive things about this place and I want to point those out before I get to the negatives. First, this is very a novelty experience. They use liquid nitrogen to create the treat and it is very neat and the rooms gets filled with the water vapor coming off of it. It would be fun to take the children or a date on. Now for the bad, this is expensive. You pick a base and after that every flavor and topping cost extra. That is unclear from the menu. So a strawberry banana milkshake cost $15+. And they don't blend the milkshake, which makes for a thick milkshake, thankfully they provide large straws (think the kind you use for boba tea). The other thing is this is too sweet, like sickly sweet. After a few bites it is unbearable and I threw most of it away. Children will love this, maybe the parents not so much. And for whatever reason the health department score wasn't posted but you can ask to see it. That seems questionable. And most of the tables were dirty. I still wonder what that score was. It was interesting but I don't plan on going back. read more

It's a neat experience. Kids love watching the ice cream get made right in front of you. Good opportunity for some science lessons. Ice cream is on the expensive side ($21 for 2 waffle bowls) but it is SOOOO good. The ambiance is lacking and a lot of the fixtures are pretty worn. Some sales coolers seem to be out of order and one is even covered with some random flag/banner thing. read more

The only positive things I could say about this place is that it's a fun experience for kids to watch them make their ice cream and that it's clean inside and has plenty of seating. The ice cream itself wasn't great. It's overpriced especially for the quality. The staff all looked miserable. They seemed annoyed at any question we asked and barely even looked at us or any of the other customers when speaking to them. They were just on their phones and the person ringing us up was even checking her phone while we were ordering. We came here because we were in the area and it was the closest place for ice cream when we were looking for an ice cream place. I don't recommend coming here. read more

It's not always bad, but it doesn't make me Cream, and there's no Mistry as to why. I'm so not a fan of this chain and this franchise. It never did do it for me. I just isn't what I like. But having service this good and this friendly really goes a long way to making me make an exception. So what I'm saying is the one by the Galleria - where I really didn't like it - honestly if I was back over there I would make it a point not to go in. But this one we would give another try as they do have the beloved nitrogen ice cream and it could be a lot worse. And the service could not be much better. read more

7 ounces of ice cream for $12 dollars is just not worth it. The ice cream was not bad but the cashier and workers gave no explanation about how their process worked whatsoever. I'm sure majority of the price is about watching the process of how they make your ice cream, but I came in not knowing anything about this business whatsoever and it didn't seem like the people there were willing to give me an explanation on how it worked. Love this location compared to the Westheimer one, because it's so spacious! Also was empty which was a plus for me! Opted for the coconut milk vegan base. Creamistry is a great spot to satisfy your ice cream craving. The first time I came here I tried their chocolate combustion, which is "chocolate ice cream, brownie bits, chocolate chips, & fudge." If you are a huge chocolate fan this is definitely for you. Surprisingly all of the chocolate things went really well together, but with their large sizes I highly recommend sharing this one. Yesterday I tried their cookies and cream ice cream and added frosted animal cookies. It was so good - hard to go wrong with vanilla ice cream & cookies. The liquid nitrogen ice cream here really stands out with its silky texture. My only complaint about Creamistry is the prices, which are a bit high. I have been to this location multiple times, and service has always been great. We will be back again! read more

I visited on a few occasions, one with my grand kids was the most enjoyable. They were in town a few weeks back and we suggested ice cream and of course they were all for it. Once we arrived we placed our orders they asked to play in the cold mist that is produced as they prepare the ice cream. They absolutely loved it. I took a variety of pics of them. Once our order came out we sat and they ate theirs while we were here. This place really caters to kids as their is a huge TV screen playing while you wait. They're is a huge amount of ice cream eats an a shake called the Nitro. I had one and it was delicious! This is my go to place from now on for ice cream. The place is dirty. To begin I am not sure if the locations are franchised or not. But I just recently moved to Katy and we love the Creamistry location near the Galleria. This katy location is terrible. The people that are working here have either not been trained properly or just don't care about presentation. This was the shake I received pitiful. read more

Creamistry is a great place to go for those looking for a sweet treat to cool off during Houston summers. Their menu is quite extensive, and offer pre-set options for those who want to stick to tried and true combinations or custom options for those feeling a bit more adventurous. They also offer pints of premade ice cream togo, whole ice cream cakes, shakes, ice cream floats, affogatos, and ice cream sandwiches. For the custom option, you first choose a base from their signature base, cashew base, or coconut base options. The cashew and coconut base are $1.25 extra, but are a good option for those that prefer a vegan option. Next you pick a flavor, and they have plenty of good ones to choose from. Some of the ones I've tried are Madagascar Vanilla Bean, Matcha, and Thai Tea. I've been a fan of each of these, and I think that the flavors for the Matcha and Thai Tea are accurate in taste. I usually prefer my ice cream without a bunch of toppings, but for those interested, the next optional step is toppings. Most of the toppings here are ones that you can find at your average ice cream shop. However, one thing to note though is that each topping you add is 75¢, so keep that in mind or else your total will end up being pretty expensive. Without any toppings and the regular base my total came out to about $7.50 after taxes. Although it's on the steeper side for ice cream, I still keep coming back because I just love how creamy and smooth nitrogen frozen ice cream is! read more

Big variety of flavors , toppings and endless combinations. The process of selecting our ice cream was a little overwhelming because of all the options and the hydrogen process so we ended up choosing a "premade" combination and so glad we did bc they were DELICIOUS! The coffee ice cream had a delicate flavor and even tho it sounds ironic I can only describe it as being so soft . I wished I had ordered a bigger size bc i'm still drooling over this ice cream! Carl is so sweet truly made our day we came in and clearly they're understaffed and the guy that rang us up was kinda like off putting to say the least but he complimented my daughters shirt and she was crying about it earlier and he is truly just a sweet human being you can tell we will definitely be back because of him because the rest of the workers are flavorless and just idk weird vibes. I love Creamistry! I can't believe I haven't reviewed them yet. In case you haven't learned, Creamistry uses liquid nitrogen (-321 degrees!) to quickly cool their ice cream base as they mix your chosen flavor into a huge stainless steel mixer. This is the only ice cream shop where you get a mini concert for every ice cream served, because the liquid nitrogen pours out of the mixer, across the counter, under the divider, and onto the floor like a fog machine! It's fascinating to watch. They have tons of flavors and are always updating them. I have yet to try one and not like it! I would totally recommend their current Autumn creation; it features a brown butter ice cream, caramel, brownie bits, and dark chocolate pieces. When there isn't a seasonal creation to try, Nutella and Cheesecake are the flavors I always come back to. Now, Creamistry's ice cream is different from any ice cream or soft serve you have ever had. It isn't "icy" at all. It is cold of course, but there is no grit or iciness to it. It's a completely silky smooth concoction that I can only akin to gelato. Forget about Marble Slab, Cold Stone, and Baskin Robbins, Creamistry is far and away the best little bowl of heaven this side of the asteroid belt! My only criticism is the cost. It's about $6 for their smallest portion of ice cream, which is large enough for two to share. But because their ice cream isn't something they bend into an ice chest and scoop out, you can't really get two different flavors in one bowl. And because all their flavors are so unique, no two of us have ever wanted the same flavor at once! read more

My ice cream was delicious as expected, however the nitro shakes are a bit misleading. My friend managed to get a nitro shake that has all the mixing just dumped in sections of the shake. Nothing is blended up since they do not have a blender it's really just a mixing bowl they hand mix. If you are getting ice cream it is not too bad but if you get a shake you might not enjoy since it's not a traditional blender made milkshake. read more

This used to be one of our family favorites, but sadly has gone ALL THE WAY downhill. My family and I stopped by for a treat and were especially disgusted with the current unsanitary conditions. The young staff is so poorly trained and managed, I'm sure this has a lot to do with the current state of the business. SO DIRTY! When I asked about cleaning they RUDELY stated that a service comes to clean "every night" but when I came back the next day JUST to humor myself, the SAME nastiness was untouched. This place has become unfit for food service. Their permits have expired and the health department has been notified. This is hands down one of my favorite ice cream joints. They had a new trainee taking my order and it took a few minutes for him to figure everything out. He still got my order wrong but it wasn't too terrible. I wanted my fruity pebbles mixed in and they they ended up just putting them as a topping. First time they've ever messed up my order but it wasn't the end of the world so I'm not gonna knock for a tiny mistake. Ingredients are always fresh and I've never had any stale mix ins. Staff is always nice and helpful. It's a nice cool treat for the hot summer. read more

I would pay the darn $1 extra if he said it and state the image error BEFOREHAND. Confusing menu and service! I looked at him, and said well, I'll just keep it, and not bother, BUT he gives a mini tantrum and walking away like a frustrated kid. What the heck?! I guess I should apologize if he has some mental issues so please let us know! This guy doesn't know how to communicate. Again, if you have some mental issues, please let us know. Overall I feel he has a distaste in socializing with customers, especially if there is something wrong. I ask the other employees about the issue and feel they are aware of this too. I don't care if he reads this, because this guy clearly needs someone else to take over if he doesn't like to solve issues. I'm not the only one who reviewed about terrible customer service and it's not from the other employees. I'm not the only review about allergies and terrible service about this guy. Don't put that allergy information about "letting us know" if you don't want to offer the service!
