    Crawfish ice cream
    Jason N.

This is something only Nickey can come up with. You're going to like it or hate it. I was in the side of liking it. The crawfish itself was just as good as some of the more traditional restaurants around town. The ice cream was wild. You can taste the old bay and corn. It's no crawfish boil but it's a good cold version of it.

I was craving some bubble waffles so I came here. Red circle did not disappoint! They make the waffle fresh so there was a few minute wait, but it was worth it. The waffle and the ice cream had a wonderful flavor and texture together. The waffle was sturdy enough to absorb the melting ice cream without becoming soggy. I'd skip the pocky next time- I think they use a different type of pocky and it doesn't quite have the same chocolate flavor I was expecting. I'll be back to try the churros!

The ice cream was great. Very fresh because they cook the waffle and churros on the spot once you order. The service was very friendly, and helpful with answering any questions had. The ambiance was upbeat and pleasant. The music selection was good and smooth.

Elmo Crunch Ice Cream & Dulce de Leche Churro
    Melodi D.

Decided to try this place after seeing all the great reviews, and I was not disappointed! I ordered the Elmo Crunch ice cream with a Dulce de Leche churro, and it was so delicious. The ice cream was rich and sweet. The churro was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and perfectly warm all around. They said they make the churros fresh with each order, and I could definitely tell. Honestly, I expected the ice cream to be the star of the show (it is in the name, after all), but the churro was the real star! Don't get me wrong, though, both were great. I look forward to coming back here next time I'm in Chinatown.

Top tier must try desserts. Best known for the combination of great churros and ice cream. Wide variety of unique and creative combinations of churros, bubble waffle and ice cream flavors. The staff are helpful and will guide you through popular or recommended pairing combinations. Don't sleep on the pints of ice cream. The Ube Mango is well balanced and flavorful and is better than that place that's "below the ground". The presentation of the desserts are Instagram worthy. It's fun place to get desserts with family or friends after a meal in the area or as a destination. Parking is very easy with a large lot.

The churros here are THE BEST in Houston! The ice cream is also the bomb.com! The ube mango ice cream is so incredibly delicious!!! They have some unique flavors that are to die for! The service is so friendly and helpful. The shop is small but mighty.

They have like 4 employees and all seem useless , the wait is ridiculous and it takes two of their employees to get scoops of ice cream because of one worker not being able to scoop correctly, pathetic and embarrassing. And the cashier stays walking back and forth to the back just to come back to the cashier 30 seconds later for absolutely no reason while the cashier ends is also leaving a line of customers waiting , and no employee upfront. Unprofessional and pathetic. Wont be back. The manager states there is sick employees yet the management is terrible , and the employees are unsanitary and disgusting having their gloves on and touching their hair and nose and pulling their pants up with the same gloves they touch the food items , as well as serving cuatomers with bad Attitude!

Inscribed along the hallway back wall reads, "Stressed spelled backwards is Desserts." That's not only brilliant, but 100% true. The notion of flipping life's pressures for something sweet and satisfying is for many of us, a full circle moment, or in this case, a Red Circle one. The last few years have been good to them, as they has become one of the most well reviewed ice cream spots in Houston Chinatown. Their soft serve is some of the best in the neighborhood. Smooth, sweet, and the perfect escape from a hot weather day. It also doesn't hurt that their place is heavy with the AC and a good amount of seating to boot. Their busiest days are weekends and summer afternoons, but I have never had a problem bringing a group here to enjoy a frozen treat. Churros and ice cream will always be a winning combo, especially in our neck of the woods. Try all their pufflicious combos, but especially the Chino Churro. The glazed and frosty churros are also a thing, and a fun one at that for folks who aren't about the ice cream. The prices are around $7-8 for a ice cream-churro combo, which seems to be normal nowadays. Service is usually easy going and the vibe is super casual. They also have merch on sale (t-shirts are fire!) and the parking situation is fairly easy with a dedicated parking lot.

Here's a time stamp of them not letting us stay inside
    Kimberly G.

We showed up at 9pm and proceeded to wait 15 minutes for them to take our order. All we saw was the employees walking in and out of the back. The young man that took our order was very polite however the woman that was working with him had the worst attitude. Behind us there was a family of maybe 6 people. When she saw the line she rolled her eyes and let out the biggest sigh. I asked if they were closed or if they were gonna be able to take our order. The woman said they're about to close and that the inside is closed already and they're only taking carry out orders. We ordered the churro ice cream 3/5 and the chocolate and strawberry matcha which were 1/5 . The ice cream tasted like it had freezer burn. The woman kept slamming the scooper visibly upset that she had to work I guess. We ate our ice cream outside. Where we witnessed 5 cars pull up to the establishment to try to order. At this point it was 9:30pm. They close at 10pm. The woman came out and told them they're closed but the open sign was still on and the people asked why it said they close at 10pm online and she just said they close early. After all those customers left we saw 2 more cars pull in and they were able to go inside but weren't able to order because the employee told them there were closed. It's sad to see a good establishment be tarnished by their rude employees. Never experienced this here before. Definitely will not be returning. The nasty attitude was truly unacceptable.

This is my second visit. Your order is made while you wait. Has ample seating to enjoy. Perfect serving and a lot of variety to choose from.

Red Circle has unique flavors like the matcha oreo (my personal fav) and elmo crunch (their version of cookies and cream - aka the red one in the picture). Theyre also known for their churros, bubble waffles, and macarons. I would totally recommend this place, especially the matcha oreo flavor :)

We love going to Red Circle! Their churros and ice cream are delicious! Definitely worth the wait!

Between the group we ordered two HOT Chicken Thunder Fries, the HOT MESS fries, three orders of the jumbo chicken tenders and waffles (two hot honey, one plain), a full order of mac and cheese, and the Cheeseburger Fryders. It was a lot of food and somehow it was all hot, fresh, and honestly really good. I love a sweet and savory combo when I'm expecting it, and this place definitely delivers. The waffles reminded me a lot of classic Waffle House waffles and the tenders were huge and actually seasoned well. The loaded fries were seriously loaded too. Lots of sauce, lots of meat, and we definitely didn't feel cheated. We were stuffed and still had leftovers. The only thing I personally wasn't crazy about were the Fryders. I think mini waffles as buns would've been better, but they weren't bad and my friend scarfed them down. Service was quick once we ordered and the staff was super chill. They let us sit there gossiping and picking at food for almost three hours without making us feel rushed, which I really appreciated. A couple small complaints though. Ordering is only through the iPads so you don't really get to ask questions, and the tables could definitely be wiped down a bit more often. Also the AC could be turned down a little... it was pretty cold in there. That said, the prices are actually pretty reasonable for The Heights. I spent a little over $50 myself and didn't feel scammed one bit considering how much food we ordered. Funny enough we originally tried to go to their Alabama location on Sunday but the line was out the door and parking was a nightmare. My friend literally drove off and told us to cancel. We ended up driving about 26 minutes to this location instead and honestly I'm glad we did. Great food, quick turnaround, and a fun spot to hang out for a while. We'll definitely be back.

There is a matcha restaurant right next door (called "Isa"), make sure you aren't standing in line for that one, make sure you go inside the actual restaurant (unlike us). They have a kiosk that you can order from and have a pretty extensive menu, so many flavors, sauces, and customization add-ons. I went with the classic Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Waffle Sandwich Deluxe (add-on) + HOT Honey substitution (add-on), side of regular fries, side of White Cheddar Mac & Cheese. We didn't go during a busy moment so it took only about 10 minutes for them to make our order. Their sandwiches are to DIE for, I would recommend you ask for your sandwich to be cut in half. The chicken was fresh, sauce was sweet and flavorful, they put the right amount of sauce along with tomatoes, lettuce and other add-ons. My rating of the sandwich is 9.4/10, it is literally the perfect sandwich if the sandwich wasn't disintegrating on me, but I think that is a good thing, wouldn't want a crunchy waffle sandwich. The mac & cheese was also very good, would give a 8.1/10, if they crusted their mac & cheese, it would be 10 times better. Would also recommend a bit of a kick, but it complemented the meal pretty well. All in all, this was a great place to stop by for lunch, they had a patio that we sat outside and ate at on a beautiful day. The front cashier was very helpful, walking us through the entire menu and giving us his best recommendations, definitely bettered our experience. For the quality of the meal, the pricing is also very reasonable as well. I would recommend if you are around the area, to stop by and enjoy a meal at this establishment. It was a truly creative choice, and it had many highs to it. The chicken was fried well, and the waffles were quite fluffy. However, I wasn't the biggest fan of the ranch and syrup together - maybe it's just personal taste though. The sandwich was also a bit small for the $14 price point - I left definitely wanting some more food in the belly. Overall, not a bad place. The service was good, but the food does have a bit of a wait. Even though it wasn't busy when we got there, it still took a little minute for the food to come out, so I'd expect it to take longer during busier times. That said, everything came out hot and fresh, and the lemon drop was really good. The only issue was that my first batch of wings had a hair in them. I let the waitress know, and she took them back right away. The replacement wings didn't come out immediately either--it was another little wait--but the new batch came out fresh and hot with no issues. I did really like the happy hour deals. The wings, lemon drop, and cheeseburger sliders came out to $25.99, which felt like a really good value because I was full and still had leftovers. Overall, it was a good experience and I would return. Finding hair in my food was definitely a turnoff, especially on a first visit, but the food, drinks, pricing, and the way the staff handled it still left me with a positive impression.

Was visiting and was given this as a suggestion by our hotel. The food was excellent, however, the…read moreservice could use some help. My wife ordered a lavender lemon drop martini and the server asked if she wanted tequila or vodka with it. Martinis aren't made with tequila. Drinks were delivered. I ordered a Tito's and lemonade and there was no ice in it. My wife was served a lavender margarita. She recognized immediately that the drink had tequila. After a few minutes we were able to get the servers attention and let him know. He took the drink back to the bar and a couple of minutes later came back with it and said the bartender made her cocktail with Tito's. A manager came over and asked what the issue was with margarita. Told him that the issue was she didn't order a margarita and had ordered a martini. She declined the drink and ordered the same Tito's and lemonade that I had ordered, which was also served warm. When I received the bill they didn't take the wrong drink off the bill. But discounted her Tito's and lemonade $1.20. At the end of the meal we had asked for the bill. The server returned and informed me that since we made our reservation on Open Table they collected a $50 per person fee to secure the reservation and it clearly stated it would be applied to the bill. No issues there. I've been to restaurants before that do this. Protects the restaurant on no shows. But the server said that our bill didn't reach that $100 threshold. The bill he brought was $80 and change. I asked if the tip could just be applied and get to the $100. Now the same manager returns and says that the $100 fee is intended to be non refundable but will make an exception for me and showed that he refunded the reservation fee. Looking over the bill before giving them my card they already had a 15% gratuity built in to the $80. I can't ever remember going to a restaurant that had the gratuity already built into the check total unless it was a large group. Good food. Poor service.
